There are only 2 ingredients that you need for making TNT on a Crafting Table: Sand and Gunpowder. For every block of TNT, youll need 4 Sand and 5 Gunpowder. On a Crafting Table, place the Gunpowder in an X shape and then fill in the other slots with Sand. You can also use Red Sand in place of regular Sand.

TNT can be set off in a number of different ways, and when its set off itll begin to expand like a creeper would and explode in four seconds. If a lit TNT is on any tall surface itll fall to the ground like powdered concrete or sand would.

Once activated the TNT becomes a primed TNT which glows in white and creates an explosion after 4 seconds. This explosion blows and destroys all blocks near it , which can also damage or kill the player.

Players can use Redstone circuits to make traps with a TNT which blows up when stepped upon.

Why Is The Tnt Dangerous

Although the TNT in Minecraft Dungeons is a valuable weapon in the arsenal, it is dangerous and comes with some caveat. Here are all the drawbacks of the TNT.

When carrying the TNT you cannot use other Ranged Attacks. You have to throw the TNT to use other ranged weapons.

What Is The Most Efficient Way To Use Tnt

After months of curiosity I have finally caved to trying out minecraft. I am currently trying to clear out a very large 25×25 area. I have built my first block of TNT and I’m ready to get down to buisness. I have read that enclosed in stone the explosion will create a 3x3x3 hole. However, what about not enclosed in stone? What is the proper hole size deep, and wide in order to maximize the blocks destroyed in a TNT blast? Assuming that all the sourrounding material is all basic stone.

Also possibly important to note: I don’t care about any ore’s destroyed in the process. I just want to make a very large dent in my project by blowing things up. Plus TNT is the manlier way to do it.

I’m going to assume we’re interested in making square holes, for several reasons:

It’s easier to measure and compare that way.
You probably want flat walls.
If you find a good blast pattern, you can do the same thing side-by-side to clear a larger area in multiples of the pattern without wasting any blast power.

I am also going to ignore the possibility of encountering a vein of dirt or gravel, which is much easier to blast and results in much less predictability of the results due to irregular obscured shape.

In this case, each TNT will blow up 3×3×4 – 3 – 1 = 32 blocks, and 4 were removed by hand.

Suppose we place a single TNT on a flat stone surface and ignite it. I did this and got a 7×1×7 hole where the outside was only partly exploded, leaving 12-15 blocks .

If you make a vertical cannon too powerful, it will fly up too fast and high meaning it will crash your game. This can be sidestepped by decreasing the power of said cannon, or making it semi-vertical. That way you can go up and sideways.

Using Flint And Steel

You can make flint and steel by combining iron ingot with flint inside a crafting table. Flint can be obtained by breaking gravel whereas iron can be obtained from caves and then put in a furnace to make an iron ingot.

Now you can activate the TNT by right-clicking on it while equipping the flint and steel. After that it will take around 4 seconds to explode which is enough time for you to get away from it.
