How Many Types Of Villages Are There In Minecraft

Villages Can Range In Size

Hour of Code: A Minecraft Tale of Two Villages

The villages in Minecraft can vary in size significantly. Some could be as small as one building while others could have a dozen. The size of the village is completely random, but it is determined by the biome and the terrain among other factors.

The bigger the village, the better because that means more villagers to trade with and upgrade. Youre going to want to improve your reputation in the village and thats so much easier when theres more villagers to mingle with. It also means youll likely have more iron golems that will keep the villagers safe.

Minecraft: How To Find Villages

A Village is a group of buildings that you can find naturally in the overworld. They often have Villagers, Iron Golems, cats, livestock, traders, and more. Associating with the Villagers will allow you to trade with them cheaper than usual, and you wont be hurt by the Iron Golems.

While a Village is easy to spot from far away, you need to explore a lot to find one, as theyre randomly generated.

Cure A Zombie Villager

To cure a zombie villager, you need to weaken them with a splash potion of weakness and feed them a golden apple. Trapping zombie villagers in a prison cell of iron bars increases the rate at which they are cured. Under normal conditions, a zombie villager will be cured in around three minutes time. Trapping zombie villagers also helps keep track of them while they are being cured! Brewing a potion of weakness requires the following ingredients:

  • Mushroom
  • Gunpowder
  • Blaze powder

Combine the mushroom, sugar and spider eye in a crafting table to create fermented spider eye. Then place the fermented spider eye in the brewing stand over a water bottle to brew a potion of weakness. You will need to activate the brewing stand with blaze powder! To turn your potion into a splash potion, combine it with gunpowder in the brewing stand. To craft a golden apple, surround an apple with eight gold ingots in a crafting table. Be carefulwhen the cure takes effect, other mobs will try to hurt your villager!

A villager sleeps in a bed outdoors during transport to another village.

Minecraft Villager Job Blocks: Everything You Need To Know

Villagers are among the oldest mobs in Minecraft. They have been in the game since the official release. At first, they were pretty dumb and had no particular use. Developers later added trading, a villager-exclusive feature.

Villagers may look dumb, but they are smart enough to trade items with players in Minecraft. In Minecraft 1.0, there were only five professions available for villagers. Since then, villagers have received many updates which added various new jobs.

As of Minecraft 1.17, there are 15 different professions available for villagers. Players can give villagers jobs by placing job blocks in front of them. This article covers all the available information about job blocks in Minecraft.

NextCraft: Minecraft, NPC Villages

Our next entry on this curated list of best Minecraft village seeds seems like a movie plot. We have two exactly opposite villages located in a somewhat isolated location separated by only a few water blocks.

On one side is a functioning village with farms and villagers. Meanwhile, just next to it is a zombie village that is silent and haunting during the day. But it becomes a hub for hostile mobs during the night. Though, this isnt all that this seed offers. Just beyond the zombie village is a huge isolated mushroom island. This is one of the rarest of Minecraft biomes and is a place where no hostile mobs spawn.

Minecraft Villager Jobs: What Is A Villager

So, what exactly is a Minecraft villager? Well, villagers are passive mobs that live within randomly generated areas called “villages” in Minecraft. These villages can spawn in biomes such as plains, snowy tundras, savannas, deserts, taigas, and snowy taigas.

These villagers work at their professions, breed, and interact with each other, as well as the player and the environment. Players can interact with a villager and trade with them using emeralds as a form of currency.

What You Get For Finding A Village

When you finally get to a village, keep in mind that they will look different depending on the territory theyre in. For example, a village in the Taiga biome will feature buildings with spruce log roofs, while one in the dessert will appear to be made completely of sand.

Villages contain lots of goodies, which are, again, randomized. This means you could end up with anything from rare to common items, but youll always get something. Villages are home to traders, who youll definitely want to visit and complete their requests. In the village we found, we stumbled upon a brewing stand and blacksmith. Just make sure you visit each of the houses to see what you can find. Chests are abundant in villages, as well as beds, which you can use to set your spawn point. Possible loot found in villages includes beef, wheat, emerald, coal, paper, maps, and a slew of other items.

You can also impact your popularity at a village, depending on your actions. For example, killing villagers will lower your popularity rating, while trading with a villager will increase your rating. Below is a specific popularity chart, courtesy of the Minecraft wiki:

  • Hero of the Village – +10
  • Upgrading a Villager to Expert/Master – +4
  • Upgrading a Villager to Journeyman – +3
  • Upgrading a Villager to Apprentice – +2
  • Trading with a villager for the last offer slot on their list – +1
  • Attacking a villager – -1
  • Attacking a villager child – -3
  • Killing a villager child – -5
  • Killing a villages iron golem – -10

Blacksmith Village With Woodland Mansion

How to Find a Village in Minecraft (All Versions)

The final seed on our list of best Minecraft village seeds, in a way, captures the best parts of almost all other seeds. It spawns us near a blacksmith village surrounded by different biomes, including plains, swamps, and the ocean, which is not so far from it.

Then, behind the village is a Woodland Mansion separated only by some flowing lava and a tiny hill. To make it special, there is a badlands biome with an exposed gateway to a small mineshaft. You can literally walk into the Mineshaft without breaking even a single block, which makes it one of the rarest Minecraft seeds.

Minecraft Villager Jobs Explained

So, which Minecraft villagers jobs can they perform? Well, there’s currently a total of 15 different jobs that you can assign to most villagers in the game.

In order to do so, you must place the proper job block that corresponds with the job that you would like to assign an Unemployed Villager.

If you want to trade certain items with a Minecraft villager, you’ll need to give them a specific job, which allows those villagers to offer certain items that aren’t available if a villager is given another job.

If you are unlucky enough to not have an Unemployed Villager, all you have to do is break the job block that a random villager is using to make it unemployed. Then, you can replace the block to get the desired trade you want.

What Can You Find In A Village

Types Of Villages In Minecraft 1.14

There’s a lot to a village beyond just the villagers themselves. Villages normally contain an assortment of houses and buildings, plots of crops, a well, and a central gathering point with a bell for alarms. Paths usually connect much of the village, with lampposts and other decorations adorning the edges.

Out of the houses you could potentially find beds, crafting tables, furnaces, bookshelves, brewing stands, fletching tables, campfires, and much more. Even more enticing are the chests that occasionally spawn inside of houses.

When a village is generated, many of the buildings may have a specific job assigned to them. A house for the librarian, a house for the farmer, a forge for the blacksmith, etcetera. The probabilities for each of these buildings is very complex, and actually changes depending on what biome the village is spawning in.

This causes two things. One, villagers who are assigned to those houses will often take the job associated with them. Two, those special buildings may have unique chests with special loot inside of them. There are far too many to go through every possibility, but basically each job has a chance of spawning a chest with different loot, as well as each biome having their own chest.

Here’s what you can find in chests according to the biome:

How Many Villager Jobs Are There In Minecraft

There are currently 15 villager jobs for Minecraft characters well, sort of. There are many villagers there with jobs, but one of the jobs listed is Unemployed and the other is Nitwit. Unemployed means they can be hired for a job, whereas Nitwits cant do anything and are essentially pointless, bless em.

As for the other 13, they are Armorer, Butcher, Cartographer, Cleric, Farmer, Fisherman, Fletcher, Leatherworker, Librarian, Mason, Shepherd, Toolsmith and Weaponsmith.

    Kidnapping Villagers From Another Village

This process requires the least amount of resources and luck, however, it can be awfully dull and time-consuming. Plus, depending on how distant the nearest village actually is, you might have to go fight off monsters as you take the villager to your base. You might even have to go through the Nether to reduce the distance between your starting location and your destination.

You can kidnap a villager by using a boat. You can force villagers into a boat by pushing them or driving the boat into the villager. The villager will not escape unless the boat is broken so you can travel great distances this way.

Keep in mind that even though boats work on land, they’re extremely slow and can only go on flat ground so if your base isn’t close by, making a Nether portal might make this quicker. And, if you encounter monsters, they will be much faster than you so be sure to kill them and protect the villager.

Once you’ve done this, you will have to do it all over again, since you need two villagers.

    • Desert
