Herobrine is alleged to be a character that spawns in single-player mode, performing strange rituals like carving tunnels and hacking leaves from trees. He is distinguishable from the default Minecraft Steve by his white eyes that lack pupils, and odd movements. Can I Summon Herobrine
I hate to start an article off with bad news, but no. Herobrine has never actually existed in Minecraft, despite an absolute maelstrom of rumors, legends, and supposed tutorials that all promised just that. The story of Herobrine is undoubtedly a delightful slice of Minecrafts rich decade-long history. It just doesnt end with a set of cryptic instructions and a strange monument you must build, guaranteeing the summoning of Herobrine and your characters eventual demise. So, what exactly is Herobrine, and how did these rumors start?
Current Stance On Herobrine
As Minecraft passed on from Notch to Jeb, the chance of Herobrine appearing in an update was unclear. On 22 August 2012, Dinnerbone, current joint developer of Minecraft, tweeted “We have no plans at all to add herobrine. I doubt this will ever change.”
This confirms that Herobrine will never see an official release in Minecraft, and that any claims of “finding” Herobrine in vanilla Minecraft in future updates are completely unfounded.

Its 2 command blocks, 1 has the command testforblock 0 23 2 command_block 1 , the other is testing for an on stone button at correct orientation, these outputs then go to an AND gate, and a further command block summons a zombie with a Herobrine skull. So, I am not a some twat that is posting what happens every time an update comes out, I am demonstrating some of the key commands that are now possible in 1.7.

Is Herobrine A Virus
Herobrine shows a lot of characteristics of being a form of virus, such as manipulating game worlds, deleting threads and sending messages through the Minecraft Forums. Perhaps also hacking into Notchs email and Twitter to reply on his own existence. Or, Herobrine is simply a figment of the users imagination.
Notorious Minecraft Herobrine World Seed Has Finally Been Unveiled
The original Minecraft Herobrine world seed has at long last been recovered, after over four months of searching by dedicated community members.
Just below, you can see the original post by a user on the Minecraft subreddit earlier this month on January 23. It’s through this “world seed” that the Minecraft community can now replicate the world of the particularly notorious character called Herobrine, who would traditionally rummage around a player’s Minecraft map, causing havoc by digging strange tunnels.
The original Herobrine seed has been found! from r/Minecraft
There’s a lot to unpack with Herobrine. As you can see in the video below, the character is a replica of Minecraft’s Steve, but with vacant white eyes, giving him a suitably ominous appearance. According to the Minecraft Wiki , Herobrine was once said to be developer Notch’s deceased brother, but this has no basis in fact as Notch doesn’t actually have a brother. Herobrine is undoubtedly inspired by horror legend Slenderman though, which in turn was also the inspiration behind Minecraft’s Enderman.
If you’re unfamiliar with what Minecraft “world seeds” are, they’re basically a series of codes that allow a user to perfectly replicate an in-game Minecraft map. So, now that the world seed has been recovered for the map in which Herobrine was first allegedly seen, players can use the world seed to delve into the map for themselves.

- Modern coordinates: X=5.16 Y=71 Z=-298.53
- Camera angle: RX=93.75 RY=-1.2
If you want to explore the world yourself and possibly discover Minecraft Herobrine, then you need the Java Edition of Minecraft and activate “historical versions” in the launcher. Then you either have to edit your save file or and Voila: you can explore the infamous Minecraft Herobrine World!
Herobrine Removed From Minecraft
The makers recently shocked the players by making some changes. They have removed Herobrine from all the Minecraft games currently. Fans do not seem happy about the removal of this character. To argue from the side of the makers of Minecraft, some fans online have been claiming that the character was never a proper character in the game. Herobrine is not a real character and was only present in a man-made Mod content.
The creator of Minecraft, Notch, also reportedly spoke about Herobrine and revealed that it was removed in the Beta 1.6.6 through 1.9 final release. But a lot of players have claimed to see Herobrine in the game. They also claim that there are some signs of Herobrine being present. Some of the signs are trees with no leaves, random glowstone towers, suspicious messages on signs, etc. But a number of the officials from Minecraft have denied these points.

Minecraft Herobrine Appearance And Behavior
Herobrines appearance resembles that of Steve, the default male character of Minecraft. The only difference that you can easily spot between the two is the presence of Herobrines glowing white eyes. It is believed that Herobrines eyes actually emit light, akin to those of Enderman or spiders.
When it comes to the behavior of Herobrine, the entity is often known to corrupt the worlds that Minecraft users are playing in. Some players have spotted Herobrine with a pickaxe in his hands, although mostly his hands remain empty.
Due to the pickaxe, a lot of community threads have also speculated that Herobrine is actually a dead miner that haunts the world, which would also explain the existence of the many abandoned mineshafts that generate in a Minecraft world.
Mostly, Herobrine is not considered a hostile mob. There have been reports of Herobrine having teleported to attack or kill the player, but most of these instances, like all others, have been specific mods that govern the behavior of the entity.

Minecraft’s Infamous ‘herobrine’ World Seed Has Been Found
ByAndy Chalkpublished 22 January 21
Minecraft update: Recent patch notes
Herobrine is a legend in Minecraft , the star of a creepypasta not dissimilar to Slender Man. He was first reported in a 2010 4chan post, according to a history on the Minecraft Wiki , but went largely unnoticed until a streamer named Copeland shared several images “proving” the odd character’s existence. Herobrine appears in singleplayer games, so the story went, where he does weird things like carving 2×2 tunnels in the rocks or cutting all the leaves off of trees he looks identical to the default Minecraft skin, but with white, empty eyes.
Like all good legends, this one had a hook in the real world: Herobrine was reportedly Notch’s dead brother , although to be honest I’m not sure whether the idea was that Notch coded his deceased sibling into Minecraft to preserve him for eternity, or if it was his vengeful spirit come back to haunt the game. Not that it really matters, becausespoiler alertthe whole thing was made up. Herobrine doesn’t exist ) and, for the record, Notch never had a brother.
The seed was discovered on January 16 by andrew_555 , who said on Reddit that it took “probably about 50 hours in total for developing/writing the code back in September” followed by months of occasional debugging, until they “realised there was a wrong leaf in the recreation which had been the problem all along.”
The project page also credits Neil, BoySanic, polymetric & MC as “major contributors.”
How To Summon Herobrine
Since Herobrine has actually never existed in Minecraft and Mojang has often confirmed that they dont plan to introduce him to the game either, there is no way to summon him in the unmodded version of the game.
There are many articles, videos, and threads online that claim to know about ways to summon or spawn Herobrine or even craft him on a crafting table, none of these methods actually work. The ones that do work usually have a Herobrine mod involved.

Can I Add Herobrine To My Game
Just because you cant find Herobrine naturally in Minecraft doesnt mean its impossible! If you own the Java Edition of Minecraft on a PC and are willing to mod your game, there are plenty of dedicated developers out there who have brought Herobrine to life. The process of modding Minecraft is a long one, so if you want to dive in, its going to take awhile. Fortunately, Ive written a comprehensive guide on adding Herobrine to Minecraft to walk you through the entire process.
If the legend of Herobrine has entranced you, and you fancy seeing what all the fuss is about, then feel free to install a mod that incorporates him into the game. Like always, I encourage caution and common sense. Ive found two mods like this popular mod and this more recently updated mod that both look to be reliable options.

The Story Of Herobrine
This is the most famous story about Herobrine:
I had recently spawned a new world in single-player Minecraft. Everything was normal at first as I began chopping down trees and crafting a workbench. I noticed something move amongst the dense fog . I thought it was a cow, so I pursued it, hoping to grab some hides for armor.
It wasn’t a cow though. Looking back at me was another character with the default skin, but his eyes were empty. I saw no name pop up, and I double-checked to make sure I wasn’t in multiplayer mode. He didn’t stay long, he looked at me and quickly ran into the fog. I pursued out of curiosity, but he was gone,
I continued on with the game, not sure what to think. As I expanded to world I saw things that seemed out of place for the random map generator to make 2×2 tunnels in the rocks, small perfect pyramids made of sand in the ocean, and groves of trees with all their leaves cut off. I would constantly think I saw the other “player” in the deep fog, but I never got a better look at him. I tried increasing my render distance to far whenever I thought I saw him, but to no avail.
I received an email from another forum user. He claimed the mods can read the forum user messages, so we were safer using email. The emailer claimed that he had seen the mystery player too, and had a small ‘directory’ of other users who had seen him as well. Their worlds were littered with obviously man-made features as well, and described their mystery player to have no pupils.
Story Of Minecraft Herobrine
While Herobrine has never actually existed in vanilla Minecraft, his story has been around for a little over 10 years now. The creepy legend first came to surface in a Minecraft players unclear screenshot, in which the player reported to have spotted a figure with white glowing eyes in his singleplayer world.
At first, the image was ignored by the Minecraft community but soon, an urban legend was weaved around the mysterious figure. Minecraft players began reporting corruptions in their singleplayer survival gameplay entire forests with no leaves on the bark, weird structures that could not have naturally spawned in the world, and even manmade 2 × 2 tunnels in underground caves.
It so happened that these corruptions became the story of Herobrine. Some Minecraft players even started saying that Herobrine was the dead brother of Notch, the creator of Minecraft. Despite Notch having denied having any brother, dead or alive, some Minecraft fans kept believing that Herobrine was Notchs brother who had returned to haunt Minecraft. And even without any evidence, the legend of Herobrine kept growing.
The story truly took off when the Brocraft streamer, Copeland photoshopped a few screenshots of the game to look like Herobrine has haunted his game. In fact, he took the story one step further and even staged a hoax using a live stream video. He started streaming his normal survival world, deliberately avoiding to go into one of the rooms of the build he was working on.
