Finding An End Portal

  • 1Use an eye of ender. Equip the eye of ender and press use while youre holding it. It will float up into the air, then travel a short distance horizontally in the direction of the nearest stronghold. XResearch source
  • In the Computer version of Minecraft, the closest strongholds are at least 1408 blocks away from the world’s origin point.XResearch source Get to at least this distance before using any eyes of ender.
  • The eye of ender will leave a faint purple trail behind as it moves, so you can follow it even if you lose sight of it.
  • The eye of ender will only work in the Overworld, not the Nether.
  • 2Collect the eye of ender. Each eye of ender has a 20% chance of breaking each time you use it. The other 80% of the time, you can pick it up from where it fell.XResearch source
  • This is why its important to have a couple at a time.
  • 3Walk in the direction of the eye. Strongholds are very far apart in the Computer and Bedrock editions, and there is only one in the entire world in Console edition. To avoid wasting eyes of ender, walk at least 500 blocks before using an eye again.XResearch source
  • Try to walk in the straightest line possible. If you keep your cursor on the eye as it floats, the direction you’re pointed in should be perfect. Check your coordinates and keep the Facing as steady as you can.
  • This does not apply to all versions of Minecraft.
  • Be warned: this is a one-way trip . You cant come back from the portal unless you slay the mighty dragon or die trying.
  • Getting To The End In Minecraft

In order for players to get to The End, they will need to use an End Portal. End Portals cant be crafted the way Nether Portals can. They must be found within Strongholds. Strongholds are chambers that can only be found using an Eye of Ender. Eyes of Ender can be crafted using Ender Pearls. Ender Pearls are frequent drops by Endermen. They are incredibly dangerous, but when they are killed, players can collect their Pearls. Combining the Ender Pearl with Blaze Powder will result in an Eye of Ender.

Once the player finds the Stronghold, they will need to activate the End Portal. Players can activate the portal using 12 Eyes of Ender. These can only be collected by killing Endermen, so this process can be very tedious and dangerous. Once the player collects all of the Eyes and places them in their frames within the Stronghold the portal will open and the player can step through.

How To Make An End Portal In Minecraft’s Creative Mode

The frame pieces of an End Portal can’t be crafted. However, in Creative mode, you can find these frames in your inventory and place them freely.

This means that you don’t need to hunt for an End Portal you can just make one from scratch.

    1. Open your infinite inventory and grab your materials. You’ll need 12 Eyes of Ender, and 12 End Portal Frames.

    2. Now let’s start building. To easily make sure that the frames are placed correctly, dig a 3×3 grid in the ground and stand inside of it.

    3. Position yourself within the grid and face outward, and then place End Portal Frames along the edge of the grid. How you place the frames matters the sides of the frames with extra green need to be facing the inside and outside, not toward the blocks next to them. Standing inside the grid should ensure they’re placed correctly.

    4. Now get out of the grid and start placing your Eyes of Ender in the frame. As soon as you place the 12th and final Eye, the portal will activate. Jump in, and you’ll be transported to The End.

Let’s face it: creating Eyes of Ender can be a long and frustrating experience. You have to kill some tough mobs, farm lots of materials, explore the depths of the Nether, and make it out alive again. With that said, if you take the time to plan out the process beforehand, it doesn’t have to be all that bad. This guide will teach you how to do it as painlessly as possible.

How To Craft Eye Of Ender In Minecraft

Eye of ender has an easy-to-remember crafting recipe. Minecraft players can craft eyes of ender using ender pearls and blaze powder. Placing both items together in the crafting menu creates eyes of ender.

Both ender pearls and blaze powder are mob drops in Minecraft. There is only one way to obtain blaze powderthat is from blazes. Players can find blazes spawning in nether fortresses. On killing them, players get blaze rods and convert them into blaze powder.

There are a few ways to get ender pearls in Minecraft. The most straightforward method is just killing enderman. These tall and horrifying mobs spawn in all three dimensions.

A more peaceful way to get ender pearls is by bartering with Minecraft piglins. There is a 2.18% chance to get 2-4 ender pearls by giving a piglin one gold ingot.

How To Get Eyes Of Ender In Minecraft

Eyes of Ender are objects that you craft in Minecraft to locate and activate portals between areas. They are important for building End Portals.

To make an Eye of Ender, you need to have one Ender Pearl and one Blaze Powder. Next, make sure you have a crafting table and move towards it. To use the crafting table, right click if youre using Minecraft on PC or press the left trigger if youre playing on console.

A three by three grid representing the crafting table will then appear, allowing you to craft the Eye of Ender. Place the Ender Pearl in the center square and the Blaze Powder in the middle square in the right hand column the Eye of Ender will then appear in the box to the right. Then, you need to move the Eye of Ender to your Minecraft inventory so that it can be used in the creation of portals. To create an End Portal, you will need 12 Eyes of Ender and will therefore need to craft them 12 times as shown.

Written by A.J. Maciejewski for Guides on August 3, 2021

Being able to progress in the Echoing Void DLC expansion can definitely be tricky so allow me to help you find all 6 Eyes of Ender.

Before we begin, allow me to give a quick overview of what to expect. Basically, in order to access the new levels within Echoing Void, you need to collect 6 Eyes of Ender then return them to a new level known as The Stronghold. These key items are located in new areas within 6 of the core campaign’s levels so let’s get to the walkthrough where I’ll tell you exactly where they’re located.

How To Find And Make An End Portal In Minecraft’s Survival Mode

Minecraft 1.16 How to get ENDER EYES *QUICK & EASY*

In “Minecraft’s” default mode, Survival, several broken End Portals are generated underground as soon as you create your world. To use them, you’ll need to find the underground stronghold and repair them with Eyes of Ender.

Quick tip: In “Minecraft: Java Edition,” all strongholds have an End Portal. In “Minecraft: Bedrock Edition,” also known as “Minecraft for Windows 10,” not all strongholds have one.

Fortunately, you don’t have to aimlessly strip mine the map to find a stronghold. Strongholds can be located using those same Eyes of Ender.

    Journeying To The End

Now that you’re in the End Portal room, you may notice that some of its frames have eyes of ender already in them, and some do not. For an End Portal to become active, all 12 frames need to have an eye of ender set in them. The chance for one to have an eye of ender sits right around 10%, so usually, you’ll only get one or two that are full. The others you’ll need to set yourself

To set an eye of ender in the frame, walk up to it and use the eye of ender on the frame. Once all 12 frames are set with eyes of ender, the center of the End Portal will become a dark, purple-ish substance that screams, “Do not enter.” Of course, that’ll be the gateway you’ll need to take a swim in to get to the End.

Be warned: using this portal is a one-way trip at first. Unless you slay the mighty ender dragon or die trying, you’re not coming back from the End. Take this to heart and make sure you’re ready.

Preparing To Get To The End

There’s a lot of preparation involved when trying to get to the End, and it usually has something to do with the endermen. Finding the End Portal as well as activating it both requires something you can only get from endermen: eyes of ender. These strange pearl-like items need to be crafted and have several uses when trying to navigate to the End.

If you’re thinking of making the trip, you need to prepare for a long trip. We suggest bringing:

    • A full set of armor. Iron or greater is preferred, but you may run into some trouble and will want to be well-defended.
    • Shield. Rounding out your plan of defense is a shield. These pieces of equipment are surprisingly useful for fending off assaults.
    • Sword/trident. You will want to have some kind of close-range melee weapon. I personally suggest an iron or diamond sword, but a trident will do as well.
    • Bow/crossbow. If you make it to the End, chances are you’ll be going up against baddies that either don’t need to be close to hurt you, or you simply won’t want them to be close to you. Get some distance while still doing damage with a bow or crossbow.
    • General supplies. Arrows, food, wood, etcetera. Bring everything you normally would on a long trip to ensure you can handle anything that’s thrown at you.
    • Eyes of ender. I suggest bringing about 20 or so along. You’ll use a few during the trip and then might need to use a few to complete the trip. More on how to get eyes of ender and what they’re for later.

    Finding The End Portal

Once all of your preparations are completed, you’re ready actually to find the End Portal. The End Portal is a unique structure that cannot be crafted by the player by regular means but is guaranteed to generate somewhere on the map. It appears hidden inside a complicated labyrinth of stone brick rooms, stairways, and passages known as a stronghold. The key to finding the End Portal is to find the stronghold, and then navigate your way through it to the gateway hidden within.

Eyes of ender are your solution to the first problem there. They have an integral connection to the End and are constantly drawn to the gateway leading to it. If you use an eye of ender while holding it, it’ll fly off in the direction of the End Portal’s stronghold. All you need is enough eyes of ender to lead you all the way there. Here’s what you need to know:

Once your eyes of ender lead you to the stronghold, you’ll need to dig down until you find it. I recommend setting up camp directly above it so that you have a safe place to fall back to. Because eyes of ender don’t lead you directly to the End Portal, you’ll have to search through the stronghold to find the End Portal room.

Once you’ve found the End Portal, it’s time to activate it.

Completing The Eye Spy Achievement In Minecraft

How to make an Eye of Ender in Minecraft

Eye Spy has a simple enough premise: “Follow an Ender Eye”. This can be easily completed by throwing an Ender Eye into the air and following the direction it goes.

This will ultimately be completed by almost any Minecraft player who wants to find the End and beat the game.

However, it’s not that simple to complete. Finding the End requires a portal and that requires Ender Eyes, which are a difficult item to come by. The first thing that is needed by the players are Ender Pearls. These can be obtained by killing Endermen or by trading with Cleric Villagers .

me, mining into a room with mossy cobblestone: nice, i found a dungeon!minecraft: YOU HAVE MADE AN ADVANCEMENT: !me:

Endermen can be found in the overworld at night or in Crimson Forests in the Nether. They have a 50% chance of dropping one Ender Pearl. With Looting III, the total number can be up to four pearls.

That may be the best method to acquire them since they spawn a lot in the Crimson Forest and because the second item needed is also found in the Nether. Blaze powder, which is crafted from Blaze rods, can only be found by killing Blazes. Those dangerous mobs can only spawn from spawners in Nether fortresses.

In the crafting menu, you should see a crafting area that is made up of a 3×3 crafting grid. To make an Eye of Ender, place and in the 3×3 crafting grid.

When making a book, it is important that the ender pearl and blaze powder are placed in the exact pattern as the image below. In the first row, there should be 1 ender pearl in the first box and 1 blaze powder in the second box. This is the Minecraft crafting recipe for an eye of ender.

Now that you have filled the crafting area with the correct pattern, the Eye of Ender will appear in the box to the right.

How Players Can Get Ender Pearls In Minecraft

Those who are playing the most updated version of Minecraft have a handful of different ways to get ender pearls.

The fastest way to get them is by bartering with piglins. Piglins are mobs who reside throughout the various biomes of the Nether. They will be hostile to players on sight, unless players are wearing at least a single piece of golden armor.

However, these mobs are incredibly useful as players can exploit their love of gold for their own personal game. When a piglin sees a gold ingot on the ground that was placed by a player, they will immediately pursue it.

After spending a few moments inspecting it, they will spit out one of 18 different items. One of the items that piglins can give in return for the gold is an ender pearl.

Ender pearls have a fairly low chance to be obtained, but gold trading with piglins is, by far, the fastest method to get a bunch of ender pearls.

This is the technique that essentially every Minecraft speedrunner uses for 1.16 Any% Random Seed Glitchless. However, players do not need to be Minecraft pros in order to take advantage of this method.

Minecraft players who are playing on an older version between 1.9 and 1.15 will want to trade with expert-level cleric villagers instead. These villagers have the potential to sell an ender pearl for five emeralds per pearl.

The villager trading method is actually quite fast, as players can farm out other items in large quantities that can be sold for emeralds such as wood logs.

What You’ll Need To Find An End Portal

Get Ender Pearls and Blaze Powder

Firstly, you’ll need to get Ender Pearls. There are several ways to get them.

    • In “Java Edition,” expert-level cleric villagers have a 66 percent chance to trade you an Ender Pearl for 4-5 emeralds. In “Bedrock Edition,” they’re guaranteed to offer this trade.

Trading with clerics can be a fast way to get Ender Pearls. Emma Witman/Insider

    • Endermen, the tall monsters that only attack when looked at, will drop Ender Pearls 25 percent of the time when killed.
    • In the Nether, Piglins the pig-like villagers that will attack you unless you’re wearing gold can give you Ender Pearls. Drop a gold ingot in front of one, and it’ll inspect it for a few moments, then give you a random item, which might be a couple of Ender Pearls. This is incredibly rare, however.

    Next, you’ll need Blaze Powder.

  • Go to the Nether and kill Blazes, the flaming creatures that live in Nether Fortresses. Whenever you kill one, it has a 50 percent chance of dropping a blaze rod.
  • Placing one blaze rod into your crafting recipe will give you two units of blaze powder.
  • Craft an Eye of Ender

Eyes of Ender can be crafted by combining one Ender Pearl with one unit of Blaze Powder.

You only need one to find the stronghold, but you might need up to 12 when repairing the broken End Portal.
