Stack A Fence Or Wall

Your Fence or Wall doesnt need to remain waist-high. Instead, you can stack these blocks to create a higher container for your captured animals or villagers.

Step 1: With your Fence or Wall currently selected in the Hotbar, target a corner post, and perform the following:

• PC Right-click on the Wood or Wall post.
• Console Press the Left Trigger button while facing the Wood or Wall post.
• Mobile Tap on the Wood or Wall post.

Step 2: Youll now see the Wood or Wall post doubled in height, as shown below. Follow the previous steps to build your Fence or Wall like normal, only youre on a higher level.

The result is a Fence or Wall that reaches to the top of your virtual head. Dont build a second-level Fence or Wall block directly over the entrance you wont fit through the opening given youre two blocks high. After a slight delay, Furniture Friday is back once more! This week, Im going to be covering various designs for fences . This topic may seem unnecessary to some readers, as unlike the previous two furniture posts, there are already fence blocks in the game. However, I feel there are a number of techniques and designs that can be used to greatly improve their look.

The first design here is a simple improvement on the default fence blocks. By spacing out fence blocks with fence gates, we are able to increase the distance between fence posts. I feel this makes the fences look less cluttered, and generally nicer than without the gates.

The even better part of this is that its not restricted to single block gaps. You can have as many gates as you want!

Fence gates can also be used in conjunction with cobblestone walls. Cobblestone walls are notably shorter than wooden fences. An interesting effect of this is that the height of fence gates next to walls is shifted downward. What this means is that we are able to create interesting arched fence designs by using cobblestone walls, with at least three fence gates between them.

A personal favorite of mine uses a mix of cobblestone walls, as well as solid blocks, stairs, and slabs, to make walls that look worn down.
