How Do You Breed Villagers

If you’re looking to expand your village, or simply replenish those unfortunately lost to, well, pretty much anything, you’ll need to know how to breed your villagers. In order for villagers to breed and create baby villagers, 3 prerequisites must be met.

  • Beds, beds, beds. A village determines its maximum possible population by the number of valid beds present in the village. A bed is considered valid if it has a door connected to it, and has at least 2 blocks of air directly above it. In other words, it has to be safe and usable.
  • Food, food, food. Villagers can actually pick things up as they go about their day, and you’ll notice that occasionally villagers will actually throw things like food at each other. You can also throw food at villagers, which makes them willing to breed. You’ll know you’ve given them enough when a shower of hearts radiates from them.
  • Another villager. It takes two, you know. You need to have at least two villagers that are both willing to breed and in close proximity to each other.

Once all of these requirements are met, your villagers should spawn a baby villager next to them. The baby villager tends to just run around and jump on the beds, but eventually it’ll grow into an adult villager.

If you don’t have enough villagers to breed them, you have two options. You can either kidnap a villager from another village, or you can cure a zombie villager.

What Else You Need To Know

If lightning strikes a Villager, or near one, theyll become a Witch, and I don’t mean the kind that will attempt to sell you healing crystals. Witches are dangerous, so be sure to take them out.

Occasionally villages will get raided by Illagers. You can help to defend the village, and if youre successful, youll earn the title Hero of the Village. This means youll get better rates on trades and can even end up with gifts from the humble townsfolk. It pays to be nice.

Last of all, attacking a Villager will sour the entire village against you, resulting in higher demands when attempting to trade. You can offset this by saving them or taking the last item they offer in a trade, but its far simpler to just not attack them in the first place.

What To Do When You Find A Village

Once you finally locate a village, you will be able to experience and do several things the main one being able to loot all of the exciting loot scattered about in the various houses in villages.

You can also trade with various NPCs with items like emeralds and even upgrade villagers to different jobs and raise your popularity rank with the entire village. Players can also participate in village events and defend it from raids and zombie sieges where waves of hostile mobs will attack.

How To Breed Villagers In Minecraft

If you just want a few new villagers, breeding them is a pretty quick process. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • At least two villagers
  • At least one bed for every villager, plus one more
  • Food bread, carrots, potatoes, or beetroots

1. Get your villagers close to each other. The best way to do this is to build a wall around them and trap them inside, or build a structure and move a villager into it using a boat.

Quick tip: You can get villagers into a boat by placing one in front of them, and letting them walk into it. Once a villager is in a boat, you can hop in and “sail” it across land or sea. Break the boat to free them.

2. Once your villagers are stuck in a small space, place beds around them. You need to have more beds than you have villagers, since the child they make will need a bed too. And any bed you place needs to have at least two blocks of free space above it.

3. Now you’ll need to increase the “willingness” of your villagers. Villagers will only breed once they’re “willing” enough, and you can increase a villager’s willingness by giving them food. Here’s how effective each type of food is:

Type of Food
Beetroot 12

4. Give your villagers food you can just throw it at them until hearts appear above their heads. This means that they’re willing.

5. Wait. The next time two willing villagers bump into each other, they should stand together for a few moments and then spawn a baby villager between them.

Creating A Village In Minecraft: Everything Players Need To Know

How to build an Awesome Village in Minecraft 1.15 Survival

Minecraft villages are some of the most useful areas in the game. Their most important function is arguably the ability for players to trade with villagers, sometimes resulting in amazing gear or valuable resources.

Gamers must be aware that they can create a village if they do not have one nearby. While it can be quite tricky, they can make a functioning village right next to their base if they so choose.

What You Get For Finding A Village

When you finally get to a village, keep in mind that they will look different depending on the territory theyre in. For example, a village in the Taiga biome will feature buildings with spruce log roofs, while one in the dessert will appear to be made completely of sand.

Villages contain lots of goodies, which are, again, randomized. This means you could end up with anything from rare to common items, but youll always get something. Villages are home to traders, who youll definitely want to visit and complete their requests. In the village we found, we stumbled upon a brewing stand and blacksmith. Just make sure you visit each of the houses to see what you can find. Chests are abundant in villages, as well as beds, which you can use to set your spawn point. Possible loot found in villages includes beef, wheat, emerald, coal, paper, maps, and a slew of other items.

You can also impact your popularity at a village, depending on your actions. For example, killing villagers will lower your popularity rating, while trading with a villager will increase your rating. Below is a specific popularity chart, courtesy of the Minecraft wiki:

  • Hero of the Village – +10
  • Upgrading a Villager to Expert/Master – +4
  • Upgrading a Villager to Journeyman – +3
  • Upgrading a Villager to Apprentice – +2
  • Trading with a villager for the last offer slot on their list – +1
  • Attacking a villager – -1
  • Attacking a villager child – -3
  • Killing a villager child – -5
  • Killing a villages iron golem – -10

The point system words on a -30 to 30 scale and the aim of the game is to be as far from -30 as possible. To do that, you will want to do the following things:

  • Fending off a raid from pillagers will give you a massive point boost of10.
  • You can get between two and four points for helping a villager level up through trading.
  • And when you trade with a villager you also nab yourself one point.

So make sure you focus on these things when you play to stay beloved by all. Alternatively, here is what you can do to decrease popularity.

  • Attacking a villager child will lose you between three-five points and deservedly so!

How Do You Summon Iron Golems

Iron golems are massive passive mobs that exist solely to defend villagers and ward off the scarier mobs like zombies and skeletons. Most villages of medium size or greater will spawn with one iron golem of their own, but for true defensive power it’s always a good idea to summon more.

To summon iron golems, you’ll need:

  • 4 iron blocks. You can craft iron blocks by combine nine iron ingots in a crafting table. Expensive, but worth it.
  • 1 carved pumpkin. Pumpkins spawn naturally around the world. You’ll need 1 to summon your own iron golem.

Once you’ve gotten everything together, you’ll need to:

  • Place the iron blocks in a “t” shape. They can be in any orientation you want, but each corner needs to be air.

  • Place the carved pumpkin on top. This needs to be the last step. Place your carved pumpkin on the iron “t” to become the head.

  • Witness your creation! It’s probably best to summon the iron golem outside or only in tall buildings, since they are significantly taller than most mobs.
  • You can summon a lot of iron golems if you desire, just keep in mind the costs of doing so. I’d also recommend building a wall of some kind around your village as well, since iron golems that are summoned rather than naturally spawned tend to wander a bit more.

    What Is A Minecraft Villager

Villagers are neutral mobs in Minecraft that serve a variety of purposes. Taller than the player when fully grown, Villagers tend to be found in the villages that spawn when the world is generated. They can fall in love with one another, have kids, get jobs, and can be traded with by the player.

Several other mobs in-gamelike Illagers and Witchescan be considered offshoots of Villagers due to using the same model as a base, but they arent true Villagers as they are hostile mobs with their own mechanics. One variation that can be lumped in with regular Villagers is the Zombie Villager, because they can be cured of their affliction by applying weakness to them and feeding them a Golden Apple.

Building your village on creative mode can speed up the process and give you access to more materials. Whatever you decide, have fun creating your very own Minecraft village!

    How To Find A Village

How to Build a Village in Minecraft 1.14 [Part 1: WALLS & TOWERS TUTORIAL]

Villages spawn randomly throughout the world, and as far as we can tell, at least one will always spawn in each world. Its possible that more than one village can spawn, as well. While there isnt a precise, full-proof method to find a village , there are things you can do to make them easier to track down.

For starters, these are the biomes that typically contain villages:

    • Dessert
    • Taiga hills
    • Snowy taiga
    • Snowy taiga hills
    • Snowy tundra

We also discovered that villages tend to spawn near water, so be on the lookout for bays and beaches. Its recommended to skip searching the mountaintops, jungles, and areas with thick, heavy forests. Villages are small, but they still need some room to spawn, which is why its best to avoid looking for them in areas that are crammed.

In Survival mode, the best way to find a village is to visit a high point and look off into the distance. In Creative mode, the same concept applies, but you can fly up to the clouds to get a better look. With that being said, a good rule of thumb is to jump into the Settings, then head to Video, and go down to Render Distance. Here, you should increase it to its maximum, which will improve the games draw distance, making it easier to see areas from far away. Your experience with this feature will vary depending on the machine youre on. High-end PCs will be able to render much more at any given time than a Nintendo Switch or mobile device.
