How To Build A Kelp Xp Farm

EASY Zombie & Skeleton Mob Spawner XP Farm Tutorial – Minecraft 1.17.1 (No Redstone) V1

The design for this farm has changed slightly with the release of 1.18 Minecraft. Players with a previous, older world from 1.17 may want to update their world and also work on updating their farms, which might no longer work in the new version of the game. In order to make this compact kelp XP farm, players will need the following items:

  • 1 bucket of water
  • 1 slab of any block type
  • 1 trap door
  • 1 full stack of any building block

Most of these resources are very accessible, but more expensive items like redstone will require the player to venture deep into the caves to find some. Make sure to check the ore distribution guide to see where redstone can be found in Minecraft 1.18. Kelp can be found in most oceans, regardless of temperature.

After gathering all of the materials, players can start the construction of this Minecraft XP farm. It doesn’t take up too much space compared to some other models and has some very nice benefits that go along with it.

The video above from JC Playz shows in great detail the step-by-step process of making this farm. After completing it, players will have three important things. The intended purpose is as an XP farm, and letting it run for a bit while the player does other things is a great way to hit level 30 very quickly.

How To Make An Xp Farm In Minecraft Without Mobs

The easiest way to get XP without mobs is by smelting items or mining ores. The ores that will give you experience when mined are coal, lapis lazuli, Redstone, diamond, and emerald. One way you can make an XP farm without mobs is by creating a cactus farm. The cacti will automatically break and flow into a hopper that will go into a furnace and make some cactus green. When you take out the cactus green, it will give you experience from the furnace. This process will constantly give you more and more experience over time.

Form The Base With Slabs And Cobblestone

On top of the four hoppers, place the four slabs. Youll need to form the base of the farm next. Place a single cobblestone block down beside the hopper.

Then place two cobblestone blocks on top of that one. Delete the bottom cobblestone block that you placed initially.

You may need to create a set of stairs for this next part if youre on Survival and dont have access to Fly Mode. Build around the hoppers to form a square.

What Youll Need To Make A Mob Farm In Minecraft

If youre playing survival, then youll need to grind up a few items in order to make this farm. At the very least, you should have the following items:

  • 4 Hoppers
  • 4 Chests
  • 1 Full Stack of Trapdoors

As with anything in Minecraft, its always a good idea to make a few extras just in case. Here are the steps you need to take to make your very own mob farm in Minecraft.

Humanoid Monster Spawner Xp Trap

This type of spawner is made for Humanoid type monster spawners , but can be modified for a spider spawner. First disable the monster spawner and areas around it with Torches so Mobs do not spawn and disrupt the creation of the trap. Now make a room 17 blocks wide by 9 blocks long and anywhere from 4-7 blocks high, with the spawner being in the rough center and 1-2 blocks above the ground. Now dig out the bottom row 1 down everywhere except the center, which should be dug down around 7 blocks. Place a water source block on each end of this dug out area and it should stop just before the center. Now place water source blocks at the top so that it should stop before running into the dug out area. Remove the torches so that the mobs start spawning, and go down so that you are at eye level with where the center area was dug down 7 blocks. Make it so you can only see the mobs feet on one side, and on the other use a slab to make it so you can just see the top of its head. This allows good use of both swords And bows .

Easy Xp Farm Minecraft Simple Ways To Easily Spawn Monsters In Minecraft

There are many ways to easily spawn mobs without using any magic in Minecraft. For the easiest way to spawn mobs, all you need is a hole and water. If you want to eat gold and other resources, you can simply dig a hole in the ground and fill it with water. Place the hole a few blocks away from the player and wait for them to come. They will spawn in a few minutes and will give you a lot of experience.

Another simple way to spawn mobs is to build a tower with a platform in the middle. As the water rises, it will push mobs into a central part of the tower. Once the mobs fall in, hit them and youll earn tons of XP. This is a great way to earn a lot of experience fast. If you can manage to kill all the monsters in one shot, you can also use water buckets to guide them to the killing chamber.

A more basic method to farm XP is to place a spawner on the side of a mountain. You can also place a chamber where mobs will naturally spawn. You need to place a spawner at a height of 30 blocks so that you can hit them with a shield. When they die, you can collect their experience. Its that simple! But remember to be creative and dont overdo it!

Efficient Pit + Experience Trap

Zombie Spawner Xp Farm Dimensions
  • This grinder does not work in 1.13+, since skeletons and zombies no longer swim. However, it is possible to build a similar grinder using soul sand block bubbles to bring mobs to the top of the water column. See Tutorials/Drowned farming for an alternative simpler design.
  • Note, all dimensions are given the format: Horizontal x Vertical. This method is an indirect hybrid of the aforementioned traps, utilizing both fall damage and mob control with water. In the mob spawning room, dig 1 block down so that the spawner is at eye level, and place water blocks at two adjacent corners. On the wall opposite of the two water blocks, dig a 1×2 hole for three blocks in the middle of the wall .

Begin digging upwards in a 1×2 fashion for 24 blocks. To get up, place signs on the long-faced wall in a zig-zag pattern going up while placing water blocks in between the signs. The first sign should be placed as furthest, lowest space possible. Stop placing signs after the 23rd level. The last water block should be against the wall furthest away from the mob spawner on the 24th level.

On the 25-24 block levels, dig a 1×2 hole for seven blocks in the direction the mob spawner. On the seventh block in, dig one block downwards. Dig in the forward direction for eight more blocks . You should notice the water block placed on the 24th level should stop where the path drops by one block. Place a water block against the wall of the drop. Notice how this water block stops 1 block short of the path.
