Hardcore Mode is like survival but you dont come back to life if you die. Older kids like 10-15 year olds might be good for hardcore, it would be a challenge for them. I would recommend only using hardcore once you have mastered survival because it is automatically hard mode and you cant change it.

Creating Your First World
Now that weve highlighted the benefit of the profile system, its time to create our first world and play!
Lets start off simple by focusing on the Singleplayer experience. In later lessons well learn about Multiplayer and Minecraft Realms. Click on Singleplayer to get started.
Here youll find your local worlds linked to your profile because its a brand new installation there are no worlds yet.
The default game mode is Survival. Click the Game Mode button in the center of the screen to swap it to Creative. Well return to game modes in the next lesson but for now, creative play is the best way to learn the controls and figure out how to move around the Minecraft world.
As for naming your world, were fond of naming the worlds we use for experimenting and learning Learning Lab or some iteration thereof.
Leave More World Options alone, well return to the fun toggles and adjustments available there in a later lesson focused on custom worlds and their creation. Once youve named your world and switched it to Creative, click Create New World, and sit back as Minecraft flexes some of that procedural generation magic in order to create you a unique world to explore.

Capturing and raising animals is an important part of Minecrafts farming mechanic. To capture animals, just hold out a piece of food that they like and theyll follow you for as long as youre holding that food and close enough to them. Build A Nether Portal
There’s a ton of exploration to be done in the overworld, but those wanting to progress in the game will eventually want to make their way into another dimension known as the Nether. To get there, it’s best to have diamond gear, just to be on the safe side.

To build a portal into the Nether, the player needs to mine out ten blocks of obsidian, which can only be mined with a diamond pickaxe. Then place them in a two by three doorway. Corners can be any other block. The portal needs to be lit up with a flint and steel, which is made by combining an iron ingot and flint, gained from shoveling gravel.

Choosing Between Creative Adventure And Survival Mode
Starting a new world in Minecraft, youll have to choose to play in either Creative, Adventure, or Survival mode. The difference in the modes actually comes with what activities you can perform within the game.
For Creative mode, you have most of the tools and materials at your disposal and your main goal is to build the most epic structure you can imagine. You also have the ability to build anything and equally to destroy everything.
And for Adventure mode, this is the more difficult mode to play. Whereby, youll need to fight zombies, craft tools, and use items and youll have to look out for the necessary tools to play the game. Also, youll find some very fascinating characters, such as dragons. But bear in mind that you can die in Adventure Mode.
Finally, the Survival mode is where you have to mine your way and also have limited health and get very hungry. You have to forage to get food, and it consists of killing some pigs and sheep to sustain your existence.
Youll be faced with several enemies that would actually want to kill you, which means youll have to build armor and get weapons, and overall, watch out while you are building your world.
