Can I Turn On Coordinates If Im Not An Owner/operator
Unfortunately not. This is one of the more frustrating sides of coordinates within Realms it is controlled on the server side as opposed to on the player side. While it may be possible that Mojang could change this at some point in the future, this is currently not the case. Your best chance of getting coordinates turned on within your favorite Realm would be asking either an Owner or Operator to enable them.
Minecraft is available now for PC, iOS, Android, PlayStation4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and various other platforms.
Using Coordinates To Teleport
If you’re not bothered about doing a bit of teleporting to get around the map, then you can use the coordinates to get to different locations on the map. To teleport, you’ll just need to use the following command :
The command is basically teleport self to these coordinates. If you’re looking for a particular biome or location to teleport to, then you can use a couple of locate commands:
- /locatebiome
- /locate
Locate biome will find you the closest biome of the type you’ve entered. Just start typing the name of the biome and it will fill it in for you. It will then display the coordinates, which you can then click on to automatically enter it in for teleportation. Locate will find you the nearest generated structure spawn. These are things like villages, pillager outposts, temples, shipwrecks, and so on.
You will sometimes see the Y-coordinate as a ~ . That means it will teleport you to the location at the same current height you are at now. So, this can be a gift and a curse, because if you’re underground you likely will just teleport in the middle of a bunch of stone. So, you might want to enter in a higher coordinate like 60 – 70 or so to make sure you’re going to spawn above the ground. You can find more of these in our Minecraft Console Commands Guide!

Java Edition
Regrettably, there is no straightforward option for turning on coordinates in Java Edition Minecraft.
Nevertheless, it is still extremely easy to discover your present coordinates. While youre in-game, merely hit and hold the F3 key to pull up a display that is full of all kinds of textual data about your game and area.
Also included in the data on the left side of the display in the middle is your present position in coordinates.
Coordinates are extremely important in Minecraft since they provide you a point of reference for where you are and where you have been.
Not many players are aware of them and how to utilize them, therefore we want to help you understand what they are and how to display coordinates in Minecraft.
The coordinates are shown as X, Y, and Z, which should be noted. Each of these letters reflects your distance from the genesis location. The origin points merely identify the zero point of the x and z coordinates.
You do not always spawn at the 0,0-origin point therefore it is only a marker for where the coordinates overlap! The following is the meaning of each letter in the alphabet:
- X represents the players distance east or west of the origin point
- Y represents how high or low the player is on the map
- There are two possible values for Z: south and north

How To Show Your Xyz Coordinates In Minecraft
Minecraft is a big world. In fact, it stretches across a landscape of more blocks than any single player will probably ever interact with. When you are in an open world sandbox game that is so large, its very easy to get lost. That is one reason that you may want to rely on your exact coordinates for tracking your position instead of just eyeing it. While in-game items like the compass and map can be helpful, many players find keeping a log of important coordinates to be the superior way to map out your world. Here is how to show your in-game coordinates in Minecraft.

Enabling Coordinates In An Established Realm
Once a realm is online, enabling coordinates can be a bit tricky. The slower method is for the owner to hit the settings button on the realm list, which looks like a pencil, and hit “Download Map.” They can then follow the instructions above, return to the realm settings, and hit “Replace the Map” to swap it with the coordinates enabled version.
The faster method involves using Minecraft‘s console commands. In the chat, the realm owner or an operator player can type “/gamerule showcoordinates true” and coordinates will be activated. In order to turn it off, a player can write “/gamerule showcoordinates false”.
Note that Minecraft does not consider turning on coordinates cheating. If someone turns coordinates on, they can still earn achievements, and other players will still be restricted from using actual cheats.
It does feel like this process should be simpler. While it can be fun to set server-side rules and keep everyone on the same page, it feels like coordinates should be something done on the client-side instead of the server-side. Ideally, each individual player could choose whether they want coordinates, instead of it being an “all or nothing” deal.

To teleport the player named DigMinecraft to the location of TheEarthMover:
/tp DigMinecraft TheEarthMover
To teleport the player named DigMinecraft to the coordinates :

To teleport the nearest player to coordinates that are 5 blocks East, 3 blocks up, and 12 blocks North of the current position:
To teleport yourself to the coordinates :
/tp 13 69 75
To teleport to the location of Axe2Grind in Minecraft PS4 Edition:
/tp Axe2Grind
To teleport the player named DigMinecraft to the location of Axe2Grind:
/tp DigMinecraft Axe2Grind

How To Turn On Coordinates In Your Minecraft Realm
If your Realm is already live then adding coordinates is a simple task. You must be either an owner or operator of the Realm, but you can enable coordinates via the in-game console commands. To enable coordinates, open up your chat and type in the following command:
- /gamerule showcoordinates true
Doing so will immediately enable coordinates for the Realm. If you are looking to turn the coordinates back off you can do so by entering:
- /gamerule showcoordinates false
If the map you plan on uploading to Realms is still offline the process is slightly different. You just need to make sure you enable coordinates through the World Settings subsection of the menu before you upload your Realm.
It should also be noted that enabling coordinates in a Realm will still allow you to earn Achievements. It is not considered a cheat and does not allow others to enable cheats within the Realm. Hopefully, your new ability to find where everything is will leave you tickled pink .
How To View The Coordinates In Minecraft

Minecraft is an extremely popular game and has evolved significantly over the last decade or so. It has undergone many updates and, even more importantly, a staggering number of mods have become available.
With so many things to do, knowing the geography of your map is often crucial, especially if youre doing a building project. This is where the coordinates kick in. If youre making something big in Minecraft, youre going to need your XYZs.

The Importance Of The Y
As you might recall, the Y-coordinate tells you what layer you are on. This is important when it comes to certain ores, because some of them will only spawn within certain altitude. For instance, diamond can only spawn on layers 1 through 15 in the game. So, you’ll have to be pretty close to the bottom of the world to find any of it!
Teleport In Minecraft Bedrock Edition

Before actually practicing the teleporting in Minecraft Bedrock Edition, it is important to know how you can display your current coordinates on the screen. Displaying your current coordinates on the screen will help you to teleport in a much easier way. So, follow these steps to do so:
Now that you can see coordinates while playing the game, lets see how you can teleport to any location on the map through it. Why Would You Need The Coordinates
The world of Minecraft is vast. Technically, it is nearly infinitely vast as the world is randomly generated while the player travels through it. There is plenty of walking ground to be covered, but you can also dig beneath the ground and fly across the sky.
There are countless points of interest throughout the Minecraft world, including everything from the world spawn villages, mansions, ruined portals, desert temples, and many more. One of the most useful things a player can do with coordinates in Minecraft is make notes of where these points of interest are.
Making realistic objects in Minecraft is very popular and there are many impressive examples out there. These, however, would be impossible to plan and execute without correct coordinates in the Minecraft world. Lets say that you want to build a huge pirate ship. Small-scale building is relatively easy just count your cubes and build a house, for instance. Projects such as a huge sailing ship will require planning, and without the coordinates, youre going to have a tough time figuring it out. Luckily, they are available in Minecraft, but no by default. Youll need to turn them on in order to see the literal big picture.
List Of Teleport Commands In Minecraft
The teleport command can take many forms, but here are some of the most common and useful ones:
/tp < location x y z>
The destination is composed of three coordinates . Enter the desired coordinates in place of the x y z. For example, /tp 100 50 100 will move the player to a block that is at the coordinates x=100, z=100, and has a height of 50.
Players can also use references to their current position. A command /tp 50 ~4 50 will move the player to the block that has x=50, z=50, and that is four blocks above their current location.
/tp < destination>
When used this way, a player will teleport to the target entity. You can use a players name, a specific entity name, or the targets UUID, or a unique identifier.
/tp < target> < destination/location>
Rotation: /tp < destination/location> < yRot> < xRot>
Each of the above commands can also have an optional argument for rotating the target towards a specific location. When used, the command needs two additional numbers. The yaw goes between -180 and 180 and describes which side of the world the entity will face after rotation . The pitch shows how the target will face up or down . You can use a reference marker to use the targets current yaw and pitch and add or subtract from it.
For example: /tp Steve 151 60 134 -90 0 will teleport the player named Steve to the coordinates then rotate him to face east and look straight ahead.
