Why Isnt My Villager In The Game

How to Use a Map in Minecraft

One of the most typical reasons for your villagers inability to turn into a Fletcher is that you have already traded with them. For some strange reason, trading with a villager permanently locks in their occupation. Once youve found one, you can swap their profession over without difficulty.

How can one transform a regular villager into a Fletcher? First, destroy the job site block that a villager uses as their profession to change their job. Youd destroy the Composter block that a Farmer villager is using, for example, if you wanted to alter their position.

Changes In Bountiful Update

As of Minecraft 1.8 the mapping system changed considerably. Overlapping maps are no longer possible to create at all. Each zoom level of maps has a grid that all maps now align to. The top left corner of each map now aligns to the coordinate +- *size. Where m and n are any integer numbers and size is the map size . The most notable change is that maps no longer zoom out from the center as in version 1.7 but snap to the grid.

Assuming one wants to make maps which cover the origin and surrounding area, 4 maps are required. Follow these steps:

  • Create 4 blank maps and put them into your inventory
  • Travel to coordinates initialize one map
  • Travel to coordinates initialize one map
  • Travel to coordinates initialize one map
  • Travel to coordinates initialize one map
  • Note: -50 and -80 are simply locations on either side of the -64 boundary.
  • Zoom these four maps out using the normal process
  • Regardless of the zoom level, maps generated from this initial set will always align properly.
  • This will create 4 perfectly aligned maps covering the origin with the least amount of traveling. The map numbers will cover the area clockwise from “top left” .

    How To Find Treasure Maps

Buried treasure maps can only be found in shipwrecks and ocean ruins.

Shipwrecks are underwater structures that resemble sunken ships. Some shipwrecks may have mobs such as drowned spawning, so it’s best to be cautious when exploring. Additionally, shipwrecks will spawn in a variety of different positions. For example, in the image above, you can see a shipwreck on its side stuck in ice. They can also spawn partially on land or buried on the beach.

Inside each shipwreck, you can find up to three chests with a variety of loot. To get a treasure map, you need to locate the map chest. They are not labeled, but this chest will be located in the lower section of the ship. If there is a map chest, then there will be a 100 percent chance that it will contain a buried treasure map.

Similar to shipwrecks, you can find ocean ruins underwater. They are a bit rarer than shipwrecks and can be quite treacherous to navigate in. These structures are found in ocean biomes and appear to look like an underwater village. Within the buildings of an ocean ruin, there will be chests filled with loot. You have a 43 percent chance to find a buried treasure map in these chests.

Overall, it’s a better choice to look in shipwrecks for a buried treasure map.

Input The Seed In The Text Field

Buried Treasure Map in Spawn Shipwreck

In the More World Options menu screen, youll see a few more buttons. However, the part of this screen used for Seed inputs is located at the top. In the text box at the top of this screen, you can type in anything. Alternatively, and conveniently, you can also copy and paste a string of characters into this text box.

Afterward, click on the Done button to save the changes you made on this screen. This will also bring you back to the previous screen: the Create New World menu. From here, if you click the Create New World option in the bottom-left, youll generate a world map based on the Seed you input.

How To Use The Explorer Map! | Tutorial | Minecraft

Just like every in-game item, maps are crafted by a combination of raw materials on a crating table. To make a map, you need one compass and eight pieces of paper. If not obtained through a chest, both of these items can be crafted using other raw materials. So, to first make paper and a compass, you need the following raw materials:

    • Nine Sugar Canes
    • A Piece of Redstone Dust
    • A Crafting Table

If you dont know how to make a Crafting table, heres the quick recipe. You can collect wood from any tree and form it into planks. Then, you need to place them in your crafting area to create a crafting table. We already have a detailed guide on how to make a crafting table in Minecraft, and you can find it linked right here. With the Crafting table ready, lets now focus on the other ingredients.

How to Make a Compass in Minecraft

To make a compass, you need 4 iron ingots and a piece of Redstone dust. If you are on the Bedrock edition, you can also make a map without a compass, but more on that later. In any Minecraft world, iron can be found if you start digging straight down. You can also refer to our Minecraft 1.18 ore distribution guide for additional support.

Once you have collected iron, you can smelt the iron ores to make ingots using a blast furnace or a regular furnace. Unless you already have an iron pickaxe, this is also the time to craft one to mine Redstone dust. Refer to the following recipe to craft an iron pickaxe with ease.

    How To Download Minecraft Maps

First, you’ll need to determine which version of Minecraft you have. Java maps will not load on Bedrock versions of the software and vice versa. Once you’ve verified your version, you can download maps from the websites listed below. Maps also come in one of two file formats: .zip or .mcworld.

    • .zip file: .zip files are used to share maps created in the Java edition of Minecraft. The .zip file contains the assets related to loading the map in-game. Bedrock editions of the game also formerly used .zip files. A great source for these maps is the Minecraft Maps website.
    • .mcworld file: The .mcworld extension stores all map-related assets in a single file. To install a .mcworld map, double-click it. You can find .mcworld maps on the MCPEDL fan site, along with skins, seeds, texture packs, and mods specifically for Minecraft.

Now that you’ve downloaded your new maps, it’s time to install them.

How To Install Minecraft Maps On Windows

To use your new map file, you’ll need to place it in the correct directory. The location will vary based on your Minecraft version. For the Windows Java version:

  • Extract the .zip file you’ve downloaded.
  • Copy the map folder by highlighting it and pressing Ctrl + C on your keyboard.
  • On your keyboard, press Win + R to open the Windows Run app.
  • In the text box, type %appdata%. Then, press Enter to open the C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming directory.
  • In the Roaming directory, find the folder labeled .minecraft. Inside, you’ll find a folder labeled saves. This folder is where Minecraft stores its maps.
  • Open the saves folder and paste the map folder inside. That’s it!

    How To Craft Them

Maps can be crafted using eight pieces of paper and one compass. This variation is called an “empty locator map.” Locator maps will show players the location markers on the map. However, players can craft a regular map and add location markers later.

To craft a regular empty map, players must combine nine pieces of paper in the crafting menu. This will grant players an empty map. If players wish to add location markers to it later, they can combine the map with a compass.
