How To Use Resource Packs Minecraft Java Edition
Resource packs in Minecraft are very useful they can change textures of blocks and mobs and even change sounds that play during gameplay. This tutorial is for Java Minecraft players so this tutorial won’t work for bedrock players. Note: If you don’t see some of the files I have don’t worry I’ve played a while and have gotten different mods that add a few files.
Modifying An Entity’s Texture
This section goes through the process of modifying a texture, using the creeper texture as an example.
Finding the vanilla texture
First, you will need the vanilla resource to get the texture you want to edit. This will be located in the extracted version folder that was created in the previous section. In the extracted folder, navigate to assetsminecrafttexturesentitycreeper where you will find creeper.png. Save a duplicate of this file somewhere accessible or keep the folder window open during the next few steps.
The creeper texture loaded in paint.net
Next you’ll need to replicate the folder structure of the vanilla pack within your resource pack, which lets Minecraft know to use the texture. Since we are modifying a default texture, this will be in the minecraft subfolder of our assets folder. Within the minecraft folder of your resource pack, do the following:
Now that you have the normal creeper texture placed in your resource pack, open it up in the image editor of your choice. It should look something like the image shown.
Since texture files are very small, you may need to zoom in.
- A quick note on textures
Color-coded Texture. Sections of the same color will always face the same direction.
What’s The Difference Between Texture Packs And Resource Packs
As far as most people need to be concerned, there’s no difference between a texture pack and a resource pack. If you do want a bit of Minecraft history though, Texture Packs are actually the deprecated system for adding new textures to Minecraft. All of the packs you’ll find on this list are technically Resource Packs, the new system that allows you to add all sorts of custom assets to Minecraft like animations, fonts, sounds, and more, not just textures.;

How To Set A Resource Pack To Your Minecraft Server
We have a video tutorial for setting a resource pack to your server:
Resource packs allow you to customize textures, font styles, sounds, models, interface and other things for Minecraft. This is also possible with servers so that everyone who joins your server will be able to use your custom resource pack.
You can create your very own resource pack or use the readily available ones shared on Minecraft sites like Planet Minecraft and the Minecraft Forum.
Once you have the ZIP file of your resource pack ready, you will need to upload this to a file hosting site of you choice. For this tutorial, we will be using Dropbox. Follow the steps below to set this up to your Minecraft server.;
Making A Resource Pack
Minecraft has a unique mechanic that allows for text and media files to be added to the game files that allow for everything from custom block textures and models to custom credits and sound events. This tutorial is meant to help with setting up the file systems in order to implement them. Since the files are essentially code, there are technical rules for how to format files and certain things may change from version to version. As such, what is written in this tutorial may not apply to every situation, but in the case where the difference is significant and specific, it will provide a framework on the changes needed for different versions.
This tutorial is geared toward the latest release of Minecraft, which is currently 1.17

How Can You Resize The Column
To resize the column, you should change the width of one column and then drag the boundary on the right side of the column heading till the width you want. The other way of doing it is to select the Format from the home tab, and in Format you have to select AUTOFIT COLUMN WIDTH under cell section. On clicking on this, the cell size will get formatted.
Temporary Installation For Servers
Very different from the other two methods, some Minecraft servers have built in resource packs specifically for that that server. If this is the case, you do not need to do anything beforehand, or either of the above methods if all you want is that singular pack. Instead, load p the server in question and you should be prompted to choose whether or not you want to load in the servers custom Resource Pack. Say yes in order to activate it, and it should load every time you enter that server from an added server, or prompt you each time via direct connect.

Find The ‘minecraft’ Mods That You Want
There are dozens of sites that offer “Minecraft” mods for free. Two of the most popular are minecraftmods.com and curseforge.com. If you can’t find the mods you want there, you can always try searching for them on Google.
However, whatever source you use, do some research. Like all third-party downloads, you’ll want to dig a little to be sure the mod download is safe and won’t cripple your game with bugs – or do worse, like install malware.
Also make sure that any mod you download is compatible with the specific version of “Minecraft” that you’re running.
Both these sites have search features and comment sections, which let users report any issues they’ve had from a mod download.
Curseforge also lets you sort by and opt for mods that already have millions of downloads.
