Minecraft Dungeons Camp Area Explained
The camp is your hero’s home base where you can stock up on some new gear and open some lobby chests. This is also where you gather together with friends, which you can find out all about in our Minecraft Dungeons multiplayer guide. Here’s what is in the camp:
- Select new missions by examining the stone table at the top left. You can also press the M key on your keyboard to select a mission.
- After completing Creeper Woods, a Blacksmith will appear next to the mission table. He can give you a random piece of gear appropriate for your level for some emeralds.
- After completing Pumpkin Pastures, you’ll unlock a Wandering Trader. They can give you a random artefact that’s appropriate for your level in exchange for some emeralds.
- Lobby chests can be found around the camp area. These chests can contain extra emeralds. It’s unclear how often they appear.
- Two scarecrows are here for you to use your weapons against. They’re good for seeing how much damage you can inflict and testing abilities.
- You also have a house. It doesn’t have much in it and unlike regular Minecraft you can’t do anything to it, but it is a nice house. Perhaps it could be an inspiration for some Minecraft house ideas in regular Minecraft?

To make things even easier, you can search for friends, create and join games, and even invite other players all from within Minecraft Dungeons.
If you’re starting a new game, you’ll see this Friends menu, which lets you toggle between an online and offline game lobby or toggle a private game . Add friends by searching for their gamertags, or join friends who are already in a lobby.
Once you’ve created a game lobby, you can invite friends who are online to join you. Keep in mind, this doesn’t always work, depending on where that friend is playing. Inviting works great to and from Xbox and Windows platforms, but Switch and PS4 can only send invites, not receive them. This means it can be a little trickier to set games up on Switch and PS4.

The physical retail version of Minecraft Dungeons Ultimate Edition was released on October 26, 2021 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation® 4.

Gameplay is not different between the two versions, only the method of accessing, downloading, and updating the game are different.
IMPORTANT: Purchasing the game from one digital store does not grant access to the game from another store .
The Win7 and up version of Minecraft Dungeons is downloaded through a launcher application that is compatible on those operating systems.

Combat in Minecraft Dungeons takes place in real-time and places an emphasis on weapons, gear, and enchantments. We were very careful in tuning items in the game to accommodate unique fighting styles, with this flexibility being especially rewarding in co-op multiplayer. A wide variety of weapons can be customized with unique enchantments that are an asset in battle.
Managing Your Inventory In Minecraft Dungeons
The inventory screen in Minecraft Dungeons is where you can change your equipped gear. You can equip one melee weapon, one armor piece, one ranged weapon, and up to three artefacts equipped at any given time. Unlike similar games, Minecraft Dungeons doesn’t have an inventory limit, so you can hoard as many items as you wish. We don’t recommend doing this though, for reasons we’ll go into later.
To equip an item, you’ll need open the inventory . Once there, you’ll need to either drag and drop the item with the mouse onto the correct item slot or simply press A twice while highlighting the item if you’re using the controller.
