Minecraft 120 Update Coming In 2023 And The Fauna Faire Hits Minecraft Dungeons Next Week

What Will Minecraft Update Next? 1.17 To 1.19 Theme Potential

Minecraft 1.20 is coming next year, and at Minecraft Live 2022 today, the team at Mojang showed off a little bit of the update.

During the show, the camel mob, hanging signs, chiseled bookshelves, and crafting with bamboo were shown off.

Players will be able to make all sorts of things with bamboo nodes, such as planks, rafts, and more. The chiseled bookshelf will allow you to store up to six books and they can even be used as doors.

There will be three different versions of hanging signs, and with camels, well the cuties will hang around in the desert and sport a saddle that holds up to two players. If you like camels well enough, feel free to breed them to your heart’s content.

The Minecraft gameplay team also revealed seven new default skins for the game. Makena, Efe, Noor, Kai, Ari, Sunny, and Zuri will join Alex and Steve in the Minecraft Launcher and Dressing Room. The new default skins will be available in Minecraft on November 29.

And the final bit of news for the original Minecraft has to do with this year’s Mob Vote. So, which creature was chosen? The Sniffer, Tuff Golem, or Rascal? The winner was Sniffer, as should have been the case. The little creature looks a bit like a turtle, and was once part of the Overworlds ecosystem. If you find its egg, you can hatch the new mob and even breed it. The creature will also find certain seeds for you.

Minecraft 120 Update Release Date Speculation And New Features

The as-yet-unnamed Minecraft 1.20 is coming in 2023, celebrating self-expression, representation, and making “Minecraft Minecraftier”

The upcoming Minecraft 1.20 update was announced during Minecraft Live on October 15, 2022, and while the update remains unnamed at this point, Mojang Studios has still revealed some of the new and exciting features we can expect in the survival game in 2023. Based around representation and creativity, we know the next update will include new Minecraft skins, and a new mob in the form of the Minecraft camel as well as the Sniffer.

The Minecraft 1.20 update announcement bucked the trend from previous years update announcements. Still revealed during Minecraft Live, we were told fewer details than in past years, due in some part to previously announced mechanics and additions never making it to the game, like fireflies, resulting in a backlash from fans. To avoid that happening again, Mojang has this year only confirmed features that are almost ready to go. On the plus side, this means well be able to playtest these features much sooner than in previous years, with new snapshots coming within just days of the Minecraft Live broadcast.

Bamboo Blocks And Rafts

Of course a new Minecraft update has to come with new blocks after all, blocks are quite literally what make the sandbox game what it is. For the Minecraft 1.20 update, those new blocks are bamboo, fitting somewhere between the wood block family, and bamboo itself.

This new block is great for a number of reasons. Firstly, it adds another use to the fast-growing bamboo plant, which before now was only used for feeding pandas and building scaffolding. The bamboo block can be crafted into most of the same items as wood, such as stairs, doors, slabs, and fences, and even comes with its own unique bamboo mosaic variant. However, the one item you cant make with bamboo is a boat. Technically. The new raft replaces the boat when crafted with bamboo and functions in exactly the same way, it just looks that little bit cooler sailing away from your desert island or jungle-themed base.

What New Content Will Be In The 120 Update In ‘minecraft’

The Tide

As previously stated, we don’t have any official details from Mojang on a release date or any new content that could be included in the 1.20 update but that hasn’t stopped players from submitting their own theories and making requests of the developers.

For starters, many have theorized that spectator mode will be made available for those who play the Bedrock edition of the game, as it’s currently only available in Java.

I’m so excited for @minecraft live 2022 and i’m surprised what #minecraft 1.20 will be and when they make an overworld update there are animals that i really want to see in minecraft i want to see iguanas, geckos and chameleons in minecraft

wings of fire breath of the wild

Some have also speculated that there will be at least one new biome added to the game. Mojang has previously taken polls from players about what biomes they want to see. Some of the biome ideas that haven’t won the poll were added in the next update or subsequent content updates.

Popular guesses for the next biome include a savannah, badlands, a birch forest, or a revamp of the current desert biome. Again, none of these have been confirmed, but they’re highly popular theories from players.

Unfortunately, we don’t have any additional information as to what will be included in the next big content update for Minecraft though players can tune into the next Minecraft Live presentation to see what the developers at Mojang will unveil for the game next.

Minecraft Will Have Seven New Default Character Skins

No longer will you have to choose between Alex or Steve for your default Minecraft face. Mojang is introducing seven new default characters: Makena, Efe, Noor, Kai, Ari, Sunny, and Zuri. Mojang says that this is another part of its efforts to help players with self-expression, by offering lots of new default characters to play as.

Granted, Minecraft Bedrock players can still use the dressing room to create their own personalized Minecraft character and Java players can download tons of free Minecraft skins designed by other players, but the nod to new characters is nice.

The new default characters for Minecraft are actually coming prior to update 1.20 sometime in November or December of 2022, Mojang says.

New Biomes In Minecraft 120

Over the years, Minecraft has teased several new and revamped biomes, but they never reached the players. Hopefully, we might see some of them finally find their way into the game in Minecraft 1.20.

Desert Biome

In 2018, Minecraft held a biome vote where the community chose Tagia as the biome they wanted to get a revamp. But developers assured that the losing biomes will be implemented in a later update. We think its finally time to update the Desert biome in Minecraft 1.20.

The new desert biome is supposed to get palm trees, meercats, and possibly an oasis in the revamped version. We also expect to see some new variants of the cactuses in the desert biome as the developers gave a green light to such an idea here.

Savanna Biome

The second biome that lost in the 2018 vote is the Savanna biome. If the developers decide to update this biome instead of the desert, we expect to see a revamped Savanna in Minecraft 1.20 update. It might have Baobab trees, , termites, and evenostriches.

Badlands Biome

Minecraft also had a biome vote in 2019 in which the mountains won, and a revamped version went live in the Minecraft 1.17 update. But whats interesting is that the losing Mangrove swamp biome also got updated in the Minecraft 1.19 update. So, whats left is the Badlands biome, which might finally get an update in Minecraft 1.20.

Birch Forest Biome

Minecraft 120 Update: Features Theme And Everything We Know

Next Minecraft Update Digs Into Caves & Cliffs! | The Scoop

The next Minecraft update is about player expression and representation.

For over a decade, Minecraft has dominated the video game industry and topped sales charts. The creative-survival classic’s undeniable success is due, in no small part, to the combined efforts of the bustling Minecraft community and the post-launch support of Mojang Studios. Now, players know the first details of what’s coming next to Minecraft with the arrival of the 1.20 update.

Dedicated to player expression, representation, and making Minecraft “Minecraftier,” Minecraft 1.20 may end up being an excellent update for Minecraft across Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, PC, and mobile devices. Here’s everything we know about the upcoming content release, including what features will be included and when players can expect the update to arrive.

Related & Other Features

Minecraft 1.20’s featureset is admittedly limited at the moment, but there are other features that are related to the upcoming content update or may arrive alongside it that have been confirmed by Mojang Studios. One such feature is the addition of seven new default characters to join Steve and Alex. These new default characters will be available to any player before the end of the year, and makes Minecraft far more inclusive for players just starting out.

The characters include Makene, Efe, Noor, Kai, Ari, Sunny, and Zuri, with each character possessing unique appearances and characteristics. Mojang Studios will also use all seven of the new characters in trailers and marketing materials. These additions to Minecraft’s default character roster aren’t arriving with Minecraft 1.20, and instead will come to players in a separate update in November or December of this year.

One feature that likely will arrive with Minecraft 1.20 is the Sniffer, the winner of the Minecraft Live Mob Vote 2022. Mojang Studios hasn’t outright confirmed that players can expect the Sniffer with Minecraft 1.20, but it seems like that the upcoming mob addition is destined for that release. Here’s everything we know about the Sniffer:

What Will The Next Update Of Minecraft Be About

Transitioning to 2022, Minecraft players are building excitement for update 1.19, known upon announcement as The Wild Update.

As the name implies, this particular Minecraft update will take a closer look at the living wilds of the world. Biomes and the creatures that inhabit them are being updated for improved immersion, and new biomes and mobs are being introduced as a result.

Diversity is the name of the game in The Wild Update, as Mojang hopes to improve the experience of traveling throughout the Overworld. However, that isn’t the only change being made, as there is an entirely new location that proves to be one of the spookiest yet.

brioul said:I hope they don’t release it during the weekend, so they can quickly act if there are unforeseen game-breaking bugs they’ll be more efficient on a week day.I also hope that before releasing the update they tackle the issue I’m bringing up in this thread, as once the Fermento Armor is released it’ll be more sensitive to update the recipe. .

Klezon said:I think it would release during the weekends because concerning the list of bugs on the forum post, they are so much bugs but quickly been patched.25/29 of the bugs have been patched and this was last updated 2 days ago! I think during those 2 days without edit, they have been doing work with the bugs and already have been patched. I don’t doubt they are any more bugs. I think they are just leaving the alpha for a while to see if any more bugs pop out. If no more bugs appear, then they are ready to go in action for the Garden Era Update. What do you guys think?Be careful, you can only vote once and you CAN’T change your vote.

Minecraft 120 Update Release Date Speculation

Scarilianvids Minecraft Blog: Minecraft Xbox 360 update revealed

As yet, there is not an official release date for the Minecraft 1.20 update. This isnt surprising, given that it has only just been announced, and we usually have to wait months to see the new features in action. That being said, this year, the first snapshots will start arriving in days, so you will be able to test out the new features soon.

As for a full rollout of the 1.20 update, we can start to speculate. The last four major updates, with the exception of 1.19, have all been released in the June of the year following their announcement. 1.19 was an exception as it was not a proper, scheduled update as such, and was instead the second part of the Caves and Cliffs update. As it seems 1.20 could be a significantly smaller update than, say, The Wild update or The Nether Update , it would not be unreasonable to assume a June 2023 release date once again if not sooner.

Speculated Features Of Minecraft 120

Leaving the new features aside, the team of Minecraft also has some pending features in the game. So, Minecraft 1.20 can also act as a gap filler update to let developers plan for the future while fixing the existing issues. Some of these features might include:

Fletching Table, New Village, & More

  • Villages: All major Minecraft biomes are supposed to have their own unique villages. But the meadow biome spawns a copy of the plains biome. Similarly, the game has villagers for swamp and biomes, but no villages spawn in either of them. So, Minecraft 1.20 can bring the missing villages to the game.
  • Illusioner & Giant Zombie: Both of these mobs are currently in the game, but they dont spawn naturally. Their implementation can make the games hostile mobs more interesting.
  • Fletching Table: This block is in the game and spawns naturally. But other than giving jobs to Minecraft villagers, it does nothing. Hopefully, developers might give it some functionality soon.

Editor Mode

Recently discovered by Twitter user SnokeyStack through data mining of a new Minecraft Preview version, we might be getting a new game mode called editor mode. This mode, supposedly, adds powerful world editing tools to the game, which are similar to some popular world-building mods.

The New Minecraft 120 Mobs Are The Camel And Sniffer

So far there are two new mobs coming in Minecraft 1.20: the camel, which Mojang chose itself as a new desert-dwelling mount, and the sniffer, which won this year’s community mob vote.

Camels will be found hanging out in desert villages walking, sitting, and flopping their little ears. They are indeed a new type of mount, which is part of their coolest feature: They seat two players. That means you can bring a friend along for a trek between bases without needing two different mounts. Camels also have a special horizontal dash ability for crossing ravines.

The sniffer is an extinct overworld mob that you’ll have to resurrect by finding their eggs. They’re very large and slightly turtle-shaped with mossy backs, a large yellow snout, and floppy pink ears. Once hatched, sniffers will dig ancient seeds out of the ground for you to plant.

When Does The Minecraft 120 Update Launch

Minecraft 1.20 will launch sometime in 2023, though Mojang has not given a specific date yet. Since Mojang has explained that features in the update are closer to complete development, it feels likely that we will see the new version launch a year after the latest one, sometime in the summer of 2023.

Even though the full update will not launch for a while yet, we’ll get to start messing with Minecraft 1.20 features really soon. Mojang has said that it will begin releasing 1.20 snapshots and Minecraft Preview builds just a few days after the reveal stream on October 15.
