What About The Other Features That Were Promised In Caves And Cliffs Part 2
Several notable additions that were planned to be released with Minecraft 1.18 have since been delayed, and will now reach us at the earliest in Minecraft 1.19, which will likely drop sometime in 2022. These delays include the new Deep Dark biome, Sculk Blocks, and the Warden.
It’s been further confirmed that at least three of the delayed features won’t be included in the Wild Update either, though the Minecraft team are at pains to assure us that none of these features are cancelled. Still, it’s sad news for those of us who have been most excited about these changes, but at least we’ll soon get to explore the vast new terrain changes that Minecraft 1.18 will bring.
That’s a wrap on the main features and details of Minecraft’s upcoming 1.18 update. Until then, the best way to change up the look of your world and inject that sense of discovery back into the game is to install one of the best Minecraft texture packs. Other Major Changes In Minecraft 118 Caves & Cliffs Part 2 Update
The biomes are the biggest feature that most players are excited about in the new update. But thats not all. Lets go over each of the major new features that Minecraft 1.18 has to offer.
Java and Bedrock Compatibility
If you are someone like me who isnt a fan of having two separate Minecraft editions, this update is perfect for you. One major way the 1.18 update brings Java and Bedrock Minecraft closer is with world generation. Most Minecraft 1.18 seeds generate worlds that look very similar in both editions of the game. The worlds still wont be exactly the same, but they wouldnt feel like two separate seeds either. An example of this improved compatibility between the Java and Bedrock editions can be seen below:
Is it time to play Spot the Difference? Nope! These Java and Bedrocks seeds are so similar that even the sharpest eyes would have trouble winning this game!
Minecraft Caves & Cliffs New Blocks
Given the nature of the split update, its easier to just list which blocks are coming and where you can find them. The new Minecraft blocks in 1.17 are:
- Copper ore found underground close to mine shafts
- Dripstone and Pointed Dripstone blocks found in caves
- Amethyst geodes found in caves
- Glow lichen found in caves
- Powdered snow found on mountain tops
- Deepslate found close to bedrock in the underground area
- Moss found in shipwreck chests
- Glow Berries found in mineshaft chests
- Azalea use bone meal on moss for a chance to find it
- Dripleaf plant use bone meal on moss for a chance to find it
Note that you can also find some of these items by trading emeralds with wandering traders. Outside of these new blocks, the new textures for ores will also appear in the Minecraft 1.17 update. They were redesigned due to accessibility issues for colourblind players.
Lets go into a bit more detail about some of these blocks:

What Is The New World Height And Depth In Minecraft After 118 Update
Minecraft has officially released the 1.18 Caves & Cliffs update in full capacity for all platforms. The update makes significant changes to world generation, namely caves and mountains, as the title for the update suggests. There aren’t any new mobs or new blocks, but there are new biomes and distinctly different caves and mountains.
The biggest changes are literally big: bigger mountains and bigger caves. The world limits have changed. Y level 0 is no longer the level for bedrock and the mountain height has significantly changed as well. Here’s what the numbers are looking like now.
Thanks to the 1.18 update, mountains alone can spawn as high as level 256, so the build limit is much higher. The new build limit is Y level 320, so players can build nearly 70 blocks above the tallest mountain. Caves can be as low as Y level -64. New cave generation is an entire chunk lower than it ever was before.

Minecraft Warden Everything We Know
A terrifying new mob awaits you in the Caves and Cliffs update
Want to know a little more about the new Minecraft Warden mob? This terrifying monster can be found lurking deep within Minecrafts caves, now coming as part of the Minecraft 1.19 update next year.
The Warden patrols the deepest areas of caverns and is the only blind mob in the game. So, what makes the Warden so frightening? Well, lack of sight doesnt mean the Warden cant track you down. Instead, the Warden uses sound to locate the player, which means you have to be very sneaky to avoid a confrontation with this new mob if youre smart you can throw items like snowballs to get the Warden to head in another direction. However, if you find yourself exposed and with nowhere to go, you will have to take on this powerful beast.
Join us as we go through everything Mojang has shared on one of the spookiest Minecraft mobs in the game, from its damage output and health pool, to its movement characteristics and its spawn location.
Terrain Changes: Exploring Below Y=0
In Minecraft 1.18, world generation is being overhauled and for the first time you’ll be able to dig below Y-Level 0.
The new lowest depth is -64, and below Y=0 you’ll enter the so-called “Deepslate layer”, where stone-type blocks turn into deepslate blocks. This is also true for ore veins: you’ll find copper, gold, iron, redstone, and so on in deepslate veins when you’re below Y=0.
You’ll find all sorts of fascinating new cave structures in 1.18 thanks to the new underground terrain generation changes. The all-new Deep Dark biome was going to be part of the Caves and Cliffs changes, but this biome has been delayed – along with its dangerous denizen, the Warden – to the release of Minecraft 1.19: the Wild Update.
The terrain changes also mean you’ll need to start looking elsewhere for Diamonds. Find out more with our guide on how to find Diamonds in Minecraft.

What Are The Best Uses For Iron In Minecraft 118 Update
Iron is one of the most easily available ores in Minecraft. After the 1.18 update, the ore distribution changed a lot, but what didnt change was the fact that players could still readily get their hands on iron.
Iron is one of the most versatile ores in Minecraft that players can use to craft a plethora of items that have great use, especially when starting a new world. Iron ore needs to be mined using a stone pickaxe and smelted in the furnace to get an iron ingot. Players can also acquire iron ingots from chests within dungeons, villages, or shipwrecks.
Iron plays a very crucial role in Minecraft, and players need this ore to progress in-game. From crafting tools and armor to making massive automated farms. Iron is essential in all these aspects. Here’s a look at five of the best uses of iron in Minecraft 1.18.

How Does Placefeature Work
The new placefeature will work similar to any other Minecraft command. To pull up a list of supported commands players just need to type / that will show up options that alter the games systems. As explained by Gamerant, placefeature requires two variables at work. Users will require < id> of the feature, secondly, they will have to use the position variable . The position variable uses x,y, and z coordinates. The outlet points out that the feature allows for an authored generation of scenarios. Minecraft : What Happens To My Old World
In the ever growing landscape of video games, updates have become more and more commonplace. This is obviously great for those people who commit themselves to one game. However, when its a game like Minecraft, where countless hours go into building one home, updates can sometimes be a bit of a burden. This is especially true in many early access games, where entire save slots and hours of progress can be lost with each major iteration.
Minecraft recently underwent one of those major changes. Caves & Cliffs Part 2 released earlier this week, bringing with it a number of significant changes. Leading the update is the introduction of several new cave and cliff biomes, all adding better variety to the game world. World generation has also been improved, with smoother transitions between biomes, and more realistic mountains.
A number of smaller improvements also landed in the update, along with new music and a few changes to ore veins as well. The update was the second part of an update that released earlier this year. Caves & Cliffs Part 1 added new animals, plants, blocks and craftable items. With so many new additions in Part 2, its worth asking the question
There Are 8 New Biomes Available In Minecraft Caves And Cliffs Update Part 2
One of the biggest sets of new additions that arrived with the Minecraft Caves and Cliffs update part 2 are the eight new biomes that have been added into the game. You can find fresh underground Dripstone Cave biomes, and several new mountain biomes. Aquifers and new cave types have also arrived with this update, to make the subterranean biomes of Minecraft more interesting. Heres what you need to know about each one:

What Time Does New Minecraft 118 Update Come Out Today In The Us
The much-awaited Minecraft 1.18 update will soon be released, bringing new biomes for mountains and caves. In this patch, the world height has been increased to 384 blocks, and mountains can now be as tall as 260 blocks, but rarely.
Caves in this update will also generate deeper, till Y-59. Sadly, a few of the features of this update will not be released today. The developers announced at Minecraft Live 2021 that they would hold them back to ensure that the Minecraft 1.18 update could be released on time.
Is The Update Good
It is most certainly not the greatest update in Minecraft history, but it gets the job done and adds a decent amount of content to satisfy gamers. I’d say the most redeeming quality of this update would be its user-oriented approach to the game. This update takes out a lot of the jank and outdated mechanics in favor of making the experience more modern and friendlier towards gamers. The increased height limit and overhauled cave system is also a really nice improvement allowing for caves to be vastly more fun to explore. In a way, this update feels like the cherry on top of the cake. The first part of the cave update was already quite interesting, but this update is like the definitive version of 1.17. Yes, it’s not perfect, but for an update, it adds a lot of improvements to annoying features like creepers spawning in a dimly lit room, or a player spawning in a pool of lava.
