How To Find An End Portal

How to find the End Portal in Minecraft (PC/XBOX/PS4/MCPE)

End Portals generate in a deactivated form in underground structures called Strongholds. While its possible to run into strongholds purely by random chance, theres a much more reliable way to find them. And that is through the use of Eyes of Ender. Eyes of Ender can be crafted with one ender pearl and one piece of blaze powder. Ender pearls are dropped by Endermen, and blaze powder is crafted out of blaze rods dropped by Blazes in Nether Fortresses. Youll need at least a few of these to both find and activate the portal, so make around 15 20 just to be safe.

How To Make An End Portal In Minecraft Pe

Youve spent hours crafting and gathering, and youve done it. Youre finally at the endgame of Minecraft PE and youre ready to polish off this mobile monster hunt. Just like Java Edition, Minecraft PE requires you to head into the ominous End to complete the game. You need to do battle against the Ender Dragon and a legion of Endermen to finish off the game. That in itself isnt easy. But the added challenge of finding and repairing an End Portal in Minecraft PE is sometimes too much.

With this guide, we will explain the basics of finding and building an End Portal in the mobile version, both in Creative and Survival modes.

Making The End Portal

Once you’ve reached the portal room, you’re almost done. For safety, fill in all the lava and destroy the monster spawner. This will prevent any unfortunate accidents.

At the top of the staircase is the broken End Portal. The portal’s entire frame is there, but a number of Eyes of Ender will be missing. Carefully fill in all the missing pegs with Eyes of Ender to activate the structure.

Once you’ve placed all the pearls, you’ll hear a loud booming sound, and darkness will fill the portal. Once you jump in, you’ll be taken to The End, and the final boss, the Ender Dragon.

Make sure you’re ready to face it before you step inside, because once you do, the only way back is by dying or winning.

Minecraft Guide: How To Get To The End Quickly And Easily

Getting to the End in Minecraft is no simple feat. Unlike getting to the Nether, you can’t build a portal wherever you want and hop to the End on the way back from the grocery store. There’s a whole process involved, and a pinch of luck, if you want a chance to face the ender dragon. If you do it, you also get access to a whole new dimension filled with new stuff, and the exclusive opportunity to see what Minecraft’s credits look like. Fun.

Introduction To The Minecraft Coordinate System

Minecraft: How to locate the End Portal (works in 1.8 ...

In Minecraft, a player’s location is represented by three numbers X, Y, and Z. These are the player’s positions along the X, Y, and Z axes:

  • The X-axis runs from east to west, with positive X being in the east direction;
  • The Y-axis runs above to below, with Y increasing towards the sky, and the bedrock layer being at Y=0; and
  • The Z-axis runs south to north, with positive Z being in the south direction. This might seem a bit unusual as we often associate positive values with north.

The world origin and spawn point are located at the X, Z coordinates of 0, 0.

In Minecraft, the direction you are facing is represented in degrees, measured clockwise from south.

In Java versions of Minecraft, you have an see the direction your player is facing using the debug screen, which you can access by pressing F3 on some systems. You will see two numbers in brackets, such as . The first number is the azimuthal angle, which is the direction you are facing in the horizontal plane. Since in Minecraft we count clockwise from south, an angle of -90 means you are facing due east, and an angle of 0 means you are facing south.

How To Find And Make An End Portal In Minecraft’s Survival Mode

In “Minecraft’s” default mode, Survival, several broken End Portals are generated underground as soon as you create your world. To use them, you’ll need to find the underground stronghold and repair them with Eyes of Ender.

Quick tip: In “Minecraft: Java Edition,” all strongholds have an End Portal. In “Minecraft: Bedrock Edition,” also known as “Minecraft for Windows 10,” not all strongholds have one.

Fortunately, you don’t have to aimlessly strip mine the map to find a stronghold. Strongholds can be located using those same Eyes of Ender.

End Portal In Minecraft: How To Find It In Survival

Survival Minecraft is by far the most popular mode, where players try to make their own stories through the adventures they go through.

Players can try to get to the end of the game by defeating the Ender Dragon in Minecraft. However, the Ender Dragon lives in another dimension called the End and to travel to that place, players need to locate the End Portal. The End portal is a naturally occurring structure and there are only 4 in the entire world.

The main reason to locate it is because, in Survival Minecraft, players cannot craft the blocks that the End Portal is created with. There is no possible way to make a End Portal in survival mode and therefore players must find them in their world.

This might get tricky as they are located deep underground in Strongholds and are very scarce.

How to find it?

  • The easiest way to find it is through obtaining Ender pearls and letting them show the way. Ender Pearls can be obtained by killing Endermen in Minecraft.
  • Throwing a Ender Pearl will allow it to travel a certain distance in a particular direction, after which it will land. Players can keep throwing the pearl until it rests on the same spot twice.
  • Players can then dig around the place to locate the Stronghold.
  • Players can find the End Portal in Minecraft in this Stronghold.

Players need to be careful as a silverfish spawner sits near the Portal room.

The frame has the highest probability of generating with only one eye of ender , with probabilities dropping to 28.2% for zero, 23.0% for two, 8.52% for three, 2.13% for four, and a total of 0.433% for five or more.

How To Find The End Portal: Walkthrough Tutorial

To complete this tutorial, you will need:

  • 24 dirt blocks;
  • 2 or more Eyes of Ender; and
  • 4 different colored blocks with 2 blocks each .

If you’re using the Java version of Minecraft, you can find the direction you are facing using the debug screen by pressing F3, which means you can skip straight to Step 3. However, if you’re using the Bedrock edition, the debugging screen is not available. Instead, we will estimate the direction by creating a “ground compass.” By standing in the middle of this compass, we can find out where the Eye of Ender is headed.

Step 1. Find a 15 x 15 flat open space

The easiest location to do this is probably the plains or desert biomes, but all you need is a flat open space of 15 x 15 blocks.

Step 2. Set up the “compass”

Lay out a grid of dirt blocks as shown below. The north, south, east, and west markers are each 7 blocks away from the center. Place the colored blocks of wool on top to help distinguish them.

Use eight more blocks of dirt to split the compass into 30° intervals. Place them exactly 4 blocks to the sides each of the four compass markers.

These distances of 7 and 4 work well due to trigonometry. In a right triangle with side lengths 7 and 4, the small angle is 29.7°, which is sufficiently close to 30° for our purposes.

Feel free to use different colors, but you can use these if they’re easy to remember:

  • North is white ;
  • East is yellow ;
  • South is red ; and
  • West is black .

Step 3. Throw the Eye of Ender

Step 5. Triangulate

How To Find And Activate The End Portal In Minecraft

To find the End Portal you need to have Ender’s Eyes that are obtained from other objects. You have to get Ender’s Pearls and Blaze’s Dust to combine them. The first ones are obtained by defeating Endermen at night, the second are obtained by defeating the Blaze in the Underworld or Nether, you will have to enter this world and make good stock of this dust. In fact, we recommend having more than a dozen Ender Pearls and Blaze Powders so we will explain later.

When you have a good supply of each, go to a Workbench and combine Ender’s Pearl with Blaze’s Powder to get an Eye of Ender . Now, you have to create several, if possible more than 12 . Once you have them, equip the Eye of Ender and use it in the Overworld. By doing that, you will see that it flies in one direction. You have to follow it until it ends up exploding.

When it explodes, use another Eye of Ender and follow it for as long as necessary . Repeat this process until you see the Eye, instead of moving further forward, rise and fall to the ground. That means you have a Fortress with the End Portal nearby. It is time to prepare your weapons and everything you have to get into it and kill all the enemies.

Portal With A Dungeon

In this Minecraft seed, players are treated to a bit of a nasty surprise when they find the End Portal. Right next to the portal and the End Portal is a dungeon room with a spider spawner. These spiders will be hostile, so players should tread with caution when they journey to this End Portal.

Players who are already prepared to journey through the portal and face the Ender Dragon shouldn’t find these spiders to be too much of a threat. A few whacks with a good sword should be all that is needed to clear out the hostile mobs. The spawner itself will need to be addressed, and players can either break it or disable it.
