Bee Farm In The Nether

Based on ilmango’s suggestion in his tutorial, I have built a small bee farm in the nether. However, the bees seem reluctant to leave the nest. I’ve been waiting outside the farm for a while and they haven’t popped out yet. I know for a fact that there are bees in this nest. Is this a bug, or do bees just not like the nether?

I think it’s because bees enter their nests during the night, rain, and thunderstorm

Now the nether has no time I suppose that is the cause

I think it’s because bees enter their nests during the night, rain, and thunderstorm

According to the Wiki that makes honey farming in the Nether _more_ efficient since the bees don’t waste time in the nests, they should pop out as soon as they have finished turning the nectar into honey.

Maybe the opening to the nest is blocked, they can only get out through the front.

Honeycomb And Honey: What Are They Used For

HOW TO MAKE A BEE FARM IN MINECRAFT!

Both Honey and Honeycomb are used in very different ways. Theres reason to believe theyll be used in more crafting recipes later on, such as candles when 1.17 launches, but for now, its a case of one begets the other.

Honey, when bottled, makes for a quick and tasty treat. Just like a potion, you can drink Honey from the bottle to reap its benefits, although its just another kind of food. Its pretty good at what it does, but given you cant stack them, they wont beat the usefulness of other, rarer consumables. You can even turn Honey into Sugar!

Honeycomb, on the other hand, is more of a crafting ingredient. You can pair it with any kind of Wooden Plank to craft a Bee Hive.

    Pristine Vs Ignoble Stock

Pristine means that the bee is stable, and can be used to breed unlimited generations. Ignoble means there is a chance after a number of life cycles that no Princess will be created, ending the lineage. Frames reduce the chance that no Princess will be produced with Ingnobles. Bee Houses are completely safe for Ignoble strains, and will always yield a Princess. Excess Ignoble Princesses are still valuable, as they can be traded to an Apiarist Villager for one emerald each.

Minecraft Guide To Bees: Honey Blocks Beehives Release Date And More

Even ten years after its initial beta release Minecraft continues to evolve at an increasingly rapid pace in its quest to develop a natural world teeming with life. The latest addition to Minecraft recently has been the arrival of, you guessed it, bees! In this guide, we’ll go over every absurd detail about the new Buzzy Bees update coming to all platforms December 10 and 11.

Where To Find Bees In Minecraft

    [EN] Minecraft 1.15 SteamCraft 014

You can find Minecraft bees hanging out near bee nests in flower forests, plains, and sunflower plains biomes. They spawn naturally and can hold up to five levels of honey, and are used as a communication system between the bees in Minecraft. You can keep the bees in calm mode with smoke, by placing a campfire near a nest or hive, which is imperative if youre collecting honeycomb or filling up your honey bottle. Just be sure to use silk touch to safely get the block with the bees stored inside, otherwise the nest will be destroyed.

    Locate Bees And Nests

First things first, we need to find some Bees! They are located in areas with a lot of flower activity, so look for forests with trees and flowers surrounding them. Seeing a bunch of flowers on the ground is a good sign that there will be bees in the area. Once you see the bees, look under trees for the nests.

Always Place A Campfire Under A Bee Nest Or Beehive

Bees will attack you if: you destroy their nest, harvesting their nest, or you attack them. You dont want your Bees to die/angry at you. Even if you have crafted Beehive for your Bees and Provide Flowers for them, they will still attack you if you harvest their nest without a Campfire.

Therefore you need to set a Campfire under their nest to calm them down.

Just like in the real world, Beekeeper uses smoke to calm the honey Bees.

    But, youre going to make sure that the Campfire is covered. You dont want your Bees to get hurt or even die because of it.;

However, you cant cover a Campfire on Bedrock. Somehow it has better physics than the Java Edition of Minecraft. See, images below:

    Campfires smoke on Java.

    Campfires smoke on Bedrock.

As you can see, Campfires smoke cant be passing through the Carpet, Trapdoor, and Slab in Bedrock. Therefore I suggest covering the Campfire side by side instead of from the top if youre playing Minecraft Bedrock.

How Do You Use Bees And Pollination For Farming

How to Make an Easy Bee Farm in Minecraft – How to Minecraft #37

One of the most useful things bees will do for the player in Minecraft is accelerating the growth of food and other plants. Those of you who enjoy farming in Minecraft will be far more efficient just by having a few bee nests/hives around the place. There are a few ways you can ensure bees do their jobs:

  • Have multiple colonies of bees. If you have a lot of crops that could benefit from their presence, the more bees you have the better. With three bees to a nest/hive, you can rather quickly guarantee a constant stream of pollen.
  • Plant lots of flowers nearby. Bees drop pollen and fertilize crops as they’re travelling between flowers and their hive home. Having a ton of flowers around your crops will encourage bees to stay close.
  • Keep your crops between the bees and the flowers. Force your bees to have to fly directly over your crops during trips to and from their flowers. On their return trip, it’s almost guaranteed that they’ll pollinate some crops.
  • Build a glass dome over your crops and bees. You can also build a pseudo-greenhouse by erecting a glass dome over the whole operation. If your bees can’t meander, they can’t waste their precious pollen elsewhere.
  • Following this advice means you can have an infinite supply of any crop you grow at any time. Wouldn’t be hard to fill chests with food when you have a near harvest ready to collect every few seconds.

Youll need to use a tool with the silk touch enchantment to get the Bee Hive or Bee Nest block . Hit the home without Silk Touch, and youll lose the home and the Honey, and youll likely have a bunch of furious bees ending their own life to take you down.

Just make sure you place a Campfire beneath any Bee Nest or Bee Hive youd like to use. The smoke will put the bees into chill mode, which essentially means that they wont fly away from their home ever again. How Do Bees Behave

Exhibiting their own unique behaviors and abilities, bees introduce a new suite of mechanics to Minecraft’s already-abundant ecosystems. This means that there a few things to look out for whenever you’re interacting with bees, and things you should or shouldn’t do.

The bees present in Minecraft will have three distinct “forms,” so to speak, that drastically alter how they behave around the player. This is when the bees are either neutral, carrying pollen, or provoked.

Use Silk Touch Enchanted Item To Move The Bee Nest/beehive Safely

Honey Farm Ideas With Minecraft’s Beehives

The easiest option is to leave the nest where it is and simply gather the honey from it as it fills. This can be a good choice,;provided the nest is not in an inconvenient spot. If players wish to move the honey farm someplace else, they can either attempt to lure the bees into a constructed hive or move the nest itself. Moving a Minecraft bee nest is only possible using tools with the Silk Touch enchantment, as using any other tool will destroy the nest. Luring the bees to constructed hive requires players to, of course, build a bee hive, which can be made using honeycomb and wood. Players can then use flowers to guide the bees into it.

In either case,;players will need to be aware that bees are protective of their honey. They will attack anyone who attempts to take it, and a successful sting results in the player being poisoned;and the bee dying. To avoid this, players can use the smoke from a Minecraft campfire to calm the bees. Simply placing a fire underneath the hive or nest will work.

Automating this process will require a bit of effort;and some understanding of more complex blocks. Players will want to familiarize themselves with how hoppers work in;Minecraft,;in addition to collecting a little bit of Redstone. Once done, they can set about constructing an automated honey farm. Reddit user PickleBuzz posted their design for a fairly simple version that uses an observer block, a hopper, a note block, and a chest.

    How Do You Craft Beehives

Because of the scarcity of naturally occurring bees in Minecraft, you’ll be able to create your own nests with the addition of a brand-new crafted block: beehives. Keep in mind, crafting beehives still require an original source of bees, but once you have a small group you can breed your own bees into a bustling society. Even better, building your own beehive is incredibly easy as long as you can find a bee nest somewhere in your Minecraft game.

To craft a beehive, follow these steps:

  • Wait for a bee nest or hive to become full of honey. After a bee deposits pollen in a bee nest or hive five times, its appearance will change and it’ll start dripping with honey.

  • Use a pair of shears on the bee nest or hive. It should drop three honeycombs, which you’ll definitely need.

Note: For this part, it’s important to have a campfire placed below or near the bee nest to prevent the bees from attacking.

  • Combine this honeycomb with six wooden planks of any kind. Take your new honeycomb with some wood to a crafting table and create a sandwich with the planks on top and bottom and the honeycomb in the center.
  • Beehives are placeable almost anywhere in the overworld and can store up to three bees. There’s no real limit to the number of hives you can create. Beehives are also able to be broken and moved around as much as you want, unlike bee nests which require a tool enchanted with Silk Touch.
