How To Find The End Portal In The Stronghold In Minecraft
If you want to find the end portal in Minecraft, you will need to find a stronghold. Inside strongholds in Minecraft, you will need to find end portals. However to find end portals you will need to make an item called an eye of ender to find these strongholds.
To make an eye of ender you will need to craft it with an ender pearl and blaze powder. You can get the blaze powder you need by crafting down blaze rods you get from Blazes, and you can get ender pearls from slaying Endermen.
That said, if you don’t know where to find Blazes, Blazes can be found roaming nether fortresses in the nether. Endermen can be found on the overworld and in caves alongside other monsters in the game.
When you got both materials, you will then need to place them inside a crafting table next to each other to make the eye of ender.
After you craft the eye of ender, grab it and then head out and use it by pressing your use key. Doing so will cause the eye to fly up and head in the direction of the nearest stronghold.
However, keep in mind this will remove the eye of ender and it will float up and point in a direction and then fall down, so you will need to pick it up again to use it.
Keep following the eye, and you will eventually locate the stronghold. Once you find the stronghold, you will need to locate a staircase. Usually you can find ender portals in chambers below the stronghold via staircases leading down – this was the case in our game.
What Y Level Do Strongholds Spawn
No, there is no level range that strongholds must spawn at. If you take a look at the page on Minecraft Wiki, you can see that strongholds can spawn on any level in the world except for partially or fully above ground. In other words, they must always be below ground, but apart from that there is no limit.

Do Silverfish Only Spawn Near Strongholds
Silverfish are small, grey, mouse-like Mobs which spawn exclusively in Strongholds. They appear when a stonebrick-lookalike block in a stronghold is broken. These blocks are very similar to the bricks usually found in strongholds in appearance, however they break very easily even when using just your hands.
Finding Strongholds In Minecraft
The easiest and quickest way to find strongholds in Minecraft is to use cheats. Granted, these do remove achievements and are usually met with a general disdain from the community. Using cheats is still the fastest way to find one.
Minecraft servers with /claim commands suck

Using the /locate cheat is the best way to find a stronghold. Input “/locate stronghold” and the coordinates will come up in the chat. If Minecraft cheats are on, then there’s really no reason not to use another cheat once that’s done. /teleport will teleport a user to the coordinates, so that’s the fastest way to get there, too.
Aside from using cheats, there are a couple of ways to find them legitimately. The first being the way the game was intended to be played: with eyes of ender. Players will need a lot of ender pearls to craft enough, so killing every Enderman is a good idea. If there is a Crimson Forest in the Nether, they will spawn there more frequently. Looting III swords give the most ender pearls.
Minecraft’s recent update adds three new Nether biomes the Crimson Forest, Soulsand Valley, and the Warped Forest.
IGN
Speaking of the Nether, players will also need blaze rods, so finding a fortress with a spawner is the next step. This can be tricky . Finding them is no guarantee and there’s no real trick to locating one.

How To Make An End Portal In Minecraft’s Creative Mode
The frame pieces of an End Portal can’t be crafted. However, in Creative mode, you can find these frames in your inventory and place them freely.
This means that you don’t need to hunt for an End Portal you can just make one from scratch.
1. Open your infinite inventory and grab your materials. You’ll need 12 Eyes of Ender, and 12 End Portal Frames.
2. Now let’s start building. To easily make sure that the frames are placed correctly, dig a 3×3 grid in the ground and stand inside of it.
3. Position yourself within the grid and face outward, and then place End Portal Frames along the edge of the grid. How you place the frames matters the sides of the frames with extra green need to be facing the inside and outside, not toward the blocks next to them. Standing inside the grid should ensure they’re placed correctly.
4. Now get out of the grid and start placing your Eyes of Ender in the frame. As soon as you place the 12th and final Eye, the portal will activate. Jump in, and you’ll be transported to The End.

What Do Silverfish Blocks Mean
Silverfish are small, grey, mouse-like Mobs which spawn exclusively in Strongholds. They appear when a stonebrick-lookalike block in a stronghold is broken. When these blocks are broken, a silverfish will appear in its place. It will attempt to chase you at quite a speed, and can jump over blocks in its way.

Finding The End Portal
Have a weapon out and torches at the ready, as you no longer need the Eyes of Ender until you reach the End Portal room. There will be mobs in the stronghold here that you will potentially fight. Search the stronghold until you find the room with the End Portal.
Upon entering the End Portal room, you will first see a small set of stairs. The deactivated End Portal floats in the middle. Destroy any mob spawns that might be in here and close off the asea to prevent mobs from entering. Youve made it!
To activate the End Portal, fill each portal frame with the remaining 12 Eyes of Ender. See picture above.
You are now ready to enter The End and take on the Ender Dragon. Beware: you cannot return from The End once you enter the portal. Make sure to be equipped with the necessary supplies to defeat the Ender Dragon before entering. If you are not prepared, you can always make an End Portal in creative Minecraft and practice fighting the Ender Dragon without facing the consequences.

How Rare Is It To Find A Stronghold Without Ender Eyes

When I was younger I remember playing on an amplified world in 1.7. In this world I was searching for a cool base location and settled on some cliff. When I was mining down to create my mainmine, while i was mining down I actually mined into the portal room without using any eye of ender. Does anybody know how rare this is, maybe its not rare because it was on an amplified world?

I’m not sure about amplified worlds but in normal minecraft the chances of randomly finding a stronghold is definetely extremely rare. Probably below 2% chance.

It’s uncommon but not too uncommon. There’s also a stronghold a little over thousand blocks from your spawn, so if you explore alot and strip-mine in various areas you’re bound to find one eventually. Especially given their size.

How To Find A Stronghold In Minecraft
To find a stronghold, you will need an eye of ender. This is an object creating by combining ender pearls and blaze powder.
Ender pearls are dropped by endermen. You can find endermen in the following locations.
- Overworld at night
- Nether Wastes biome
- Soul Sand Valley biome
Additionally, expert-level cleric villagers will have a chance to sell an ender pearl for five emeralds. Each eye of ender will only need one pearl but you will need quite a few of these eyes.
Blaze powder is a little more difficult to find. This material is crafted from blaze rods, which only drop from blazes. This mob spawns naturally and from spawners within nether fortresses.
You will probably encounter a few blazes pretty quickly, but they can annoying to fight because they fly and shoot fireballs. Make sure that you have enough fire protection when fighting a blaze. Try to fight them above a platform as well, so the blaze rods don’t fall into the lava.
Once you have the eyes of ender, throw one into the sky. The eye will float towards the location of the nearest stronghold. Catch the eye when it drops and head in that direction. Periodically throw an eye to make sure that you are on the right track.
An eye of ender has a chance to break when thrown, so be sure to bring extras.
How Do I Find The End Portal Within The Stronghold

So I’m finally ready to fight the Ender Dragon. I’ve got diamond everything, enchanted out the whazoo, and I found my stronghold. I explored every inch of the stronghold being sure to mark where I have been previously… And there’s NO end portal! This is unacceptable! I’m honestly about to grab a bunch of iron pickaxes and break the entire stronghold! But that’d take forever. So before I commit myself to destroying the entire stronghold I have to know if there’s something I did wrong, or if there’s another way to find the end portal within the stronghold. I already tried throwing my Eye of Enders within the stronghold and they just kept flying up to the starting stairway.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a stronghold without a portal in the Java edition except if part of the stronghold was first loaded in one version and the rest in another version, and I think that’s only for the specific update when the position and number of strongholds was changed.
In Bedrock it seems to happen much more often.
The Eye of Ender does go to the starting stairway, not the portal, so that’s normal.
Sometimes the stronghold is in separate pieces with no direct connection, usually it’s just a corridor that’s blocked off by a wall, if you can find the right wall you can just knock it down and find the rest of the stronghold but that’s not so easy to do.

What You’ll Need To Find An End Portal
Get Ender Pearls and Blaze Powder
Firstly, you’ll need to get Ender Pearls. There are several ways to get them.
-
In “Java Edition,” expert-level cleric villagers have a 66 percent chance to trade you an Ender Pearl for 4-5 emeralds. In “Bedrock Edition,” they’re guaranteed to offer this trade.
Trading with clerics can be a fast way to get Ender Pearls. Emma Witman/Insider
- Endermen, the tall monsters that only attack when looked at, will drop Ender Pearls 25 percent of the time when killed.
- In the Nether, Piglins the pig-like villagers that will attack you unless you’re wearing gold can give you Ender Pearls. Drop a gold ingot in front of one, and it’ll inspect it for a few moments, then give you a random item, which might be a couple of Ender Pearls. This is incredibly rare, however.
Next, you’ll need Blaze Powder.
Craft an Eye of Ender
Eyes of Ender can be crafted by combining one Ender Pearl with one unit of Blaze Powder.
You only need one to find the stronghold, but you might need up to 12 when repairing the broken End Portal.
To find a stronghold, throw the Eye of Ender, follow, repeat
Search the stronghold for the broken End Portal
