How To Obtain Custom Heads
There is the possibility of making the Player Head spawn with the skin the Player has. That means, your own custom face will be on that particular spawned Player Head.
Because these Heads can be placed down and used decoratively, many Players decided to get creative. Making skins where the head of their character resembled a particular everyday item allowed them to have this kind of decoration.
An example is a present or small Pumpkin or a loaf of bread. These are referred to as Custom Heads.
All you need in order to get these Heads is to change your skin or find the username of a player that has the type of head you are looking for and place it in the world.
Even if you or the Player from who you took the skin changes their skin later on down the line, the Head will remain unchanged.
Server Plugins and Mods make this a little easier, allowing you to simply download and install the app once. They give you access to all kinds of custom heads, however they will not be customizable like taking skins directly from the internet.

HEY! lol I just wanted some help with my new project and I wanted to give a few armorstands some custom player skins heads that have the texture of their character, example, I want the armorstand named Elli to have the Elli skin’s head, I know what you’re gonna say: just do , I know that’s a good recommendation BUT it is hard to find people that precisely have harvest moon skins, So what I wanted to do was maybe download skins from an external site and dump it onto the map’s resource pack folder, I know this is somewhat possible because if you use the /give command that gives you a player head the player’s skin will be saved into the bin, I tried replacing those skins with the same name as the old file but IT JUST WOULDN’T LET ME CHANGE IT AND GOES BACK TO THE ACTUAL PLAYER’S SKIN. Is this possible? I have very short term memory and I even bring a notebook to write commands that I need, i basically have 3 command block journals filled with commands but I JUST DON’T KNOW HOW YOU IMPORT A DOWNLOADED SKIN FROM AN EXTERNAL SITE AND UPLOAD IT INTO THE GAME BECAUSE IT’S HARD TO FIND PRECISE SKINS. So please help me I’m really confused and I spend 8 hours searching for a solution , so i decided to sign up for minecraft forum and ask here, I hope someone helps me :sob:

How Player Heads Differ From Other Heads In Minecraft
Heads are decorative blocks, which are categorized into six types of heads in Minecraft: player, Zombie, Skeleton, Wither Skeleton, Creeper, and Dragon. While the last 5 heads can be obtained by killing the corresponding mobs in a certain way, you cannot do it with the player head.
In the vanilla Survival mode of the game, which means no mods or Minecraft resource packs added, the game won’t drop players’ heads. It would be wrong to drop Steve’s or Alex’s head for others to use as trophies. We don’t want to promote such an idea to the younger generation, do we? In order to obtain a player head, you must use commands or install additional data packs.
In fact, the player head functions similarly to the remaining types of heads in Minecraft. You can place it around as a decorative block, or put it inside an item frame to make a trophy. However, you cannot make Firework Stars with player heads.

How To Get Custom Mob Heads In Minecraft Java Edition
There are several different mob heads available in Minecraft. Steve, Enderman, Creeper, Ender Dragon and Wither Skeleton Skulls are available in all versions of vanilla Minecraft.
There are various ways to collect these, but the simplest would be to visit the Creative menu. There are, however, other heads that players can get through non-vanilla methods.
Currently, the only version of Minecraft that supports any of these is the Java Edition. Bedrock players can’t get custom heads yet, unfortunately. Here’s how to get them on Java Edition.

How To Obtain Player Heads
Player Heads, unlike Mob heads, can only be obtained through commands and the Command Block.
You will firstly have to spawn in a Command Block along with an item to power it, like a Button, Redstone Torch, or Lever. In order to get the Command Block you have to use the following command:
/give minecraft:command_block
Place down your Command Block and right click on it. You will be given a text box where you will be writing down the following command:
In the image below you can see an example of the command with a Custom Head username.
SkullOwner helps us define where this head is coming from by inputting their username. The good thing about this command is that the Player does not need to be in the server or logged into the game for you to be able to obtain their head.
