  • How To Keep Inventory In Minecraft In A Wooden Chest

If youre running out of room in your pocket and youre a newbie to Minecraft, you may not realize that you can store more items in a wooden chest. You can make a wooden chest very easily, but first you need to have a wooden craft table and some wooden planks.

Harvest some wood from nearby trees and craft them into planks by pressing E and dropping them into your 2 x 2 crafting grid. Once you have the planks, put one into each spot in your crafting grid, and you should have a crafting table. From there, you can use the rest of the planks to craft your chest and store your items.

To make a chest, take eight planks of wood of any kind and put them on your craft table. Arrange them in all of the gridded slots except for the middle one. This should result in a chest where you can store a lot of inventory. It has 27 slots where you can place bundles of items.

If you need more room than that, you can make a large chest. You can build one of these by simply making two small chests on your crafting table and then placing them side by side in the environment. They will naturally fuse to form a large chest, which has 54 storage slots.

Chests can also be handy when youre mining, since you only have so much room in your pockets for the tons of cobblestone that you will be accumulating.

Ive been digging around looking for a mod or a walk around trying to find a way to keepInventory to a 1.7.2 modpack. The game play will be multiplayer lan on survival with no cheats. I’ve tried creating a keybind mod that executes the command when pressed, but says you don’t have permissions. I tried creating a craftable block that when right clicked, it will execute the command, but same problem. Is there a solution out there already for this? Or any help on creating the mod, or a walk around would be awesome. I did try open to lan, change to creative with cheats, drop a command block on the world, and entered the command, but it said i had to be op. i tried the /op command and it didnt help.

What Happens To Your Inventory When You Die In Minecraft

Whether you fell in a lava pit or went too far from home, when you die in Minecraft, youll have to respawn with no items in your inventory. Once you die, youll automatically drop all your items and have to start collecting them all over again. However, should you want to prevent this from happening, youll either safely store your inventory or use a cheat code.

For storing your items, you have to build a wooden chest. There, youll be able to place an abundance of inventory items and save them from dropping. Knowing that your items are safe, youll want to take more risks, explore, and be bolder in your creations. Alternatively, you can choose to use a cheat code as it protects your loot at all times. When you die and respawn, its easier to go through survival mode with all your weapons and tools at hand, especially if youre a Minecraft beginner.

Keeping Specific Items On Death Rather Than All

    Minecraft Keep Inventory Tutorial

I’m searching for a method in which it would allow me to “tag” certain items to be kept on death, while items that were not ‘tagged’ would not be kept. I haven’t tried much yet as I dont know where to really start from in order to accomplish such an effect.I’m currently playing on minecraft 1.11.2, for anyone wondering.

Thanks, and happy new year 🙂

I’m afraid the only reliable way would be to test for every single player slot of the dead player individually and depending on whether the item was found or not, you’d clear that slot .

    example commands :

this solution is kinda-multiplayer proof, making sure only one player will get checked at a time to prevent false positives. might lead to problems if there are too many players online/dead at once and respawn quickly

this obviously only works with one item-name at a time, so having to test for multiple items in every slot will become very tedious. You could tag every item you don’t want to be removed though, to make your life easier:

and then the testfor would look like this

The Benefits Of Keeping Your Inventory After You Die

In theory, you can recover your items even if you dont know how to keep inventory in Minecraft using the cheat code. You can simply go back to the place where you died and you might find that your items are still floating around waiting for you.

This isnt always feasible, though. For example, you might have died somewhere really far away from your spawn point, and you dont know how to get there again, or you simply dont want to travel that far. You might have also lost them somewhere dangerous, like in a dungeon, and you dont want to face endless skeletons and zombies just to get your stuff back. You can also lose your stuff somewhere where its all but impossible to recover, such as a lava flow or in an underwater cavern that would be hard to dive in.

If you learn how to keep inventory in Minecraft when you die, then this changes the game a little. There are a few benefits that youll notice right away:

    • You wont have to worry so much about taking risks
    • You can carry around your valuable stuff with you everywhere without having to necessarily hide it in a chest
    • Naturally, you save a lot of time because you wont have to remake your tools every time you die

How To Put The Keep Inventory In Minecraft

After explaining what options to enable to use the tricks, I would say that the time has come to take action and enable the Keep Inventory.

To proceed in the Java version of Minecraft for PC. Open the game and start a game in the world you created following the instructions that I illustrated to you in the previous chapter. After that, press the T button on the keyboard and type the command /gamerule to keep inventory true. I was pressing Enter to confirm it.

The game will confirm that the change has been made. To make a concrete test, you can try. For example, to collect a flower and let your character drown underwater.

In this way, after pressing the Rinasci button. Suppose everything has been done properly. You will see that you will still have the object that your character was holding.

If, on the other hand, you usually play the Bedrock version of Minecraft. Just open the game, go to the path Play> Create new> Create a new world. Select the Game tab and turn ON the option Activate the tricks first and then the option Keep an inventory. Then pressing on the Continue and Create buttons.

Suppose you have a game already created. All you have to do is press on the pencil icon next to it in the main menu and move the same options described above to ON. Then Activate the tricks and Keep an inventory.
