To create a server you will need to export the custom profile and send this to us, we will use this file to create your server for you.

Name your profile to match the name you have in your Twitch Launcher.

The package version does not necessarily matter but it can be used to track updated versions if you continue to make changes to the pack.

Minecraft Forge How To Install Modpacks

Vanilla Minecraft, or unmodded Minecraft, is the version everyone gets when they buy the game. There are no mods included with the game, so you need to download them. Before you can make the game support them, you need to download Forge.

Forge is an add-on for Minecraft: Java Edition which allows you to install the mods you downloaded and enable them. The version you download has to match your Minecraft client version, or else it may crash the game or make it malfunction. The mods you download must also match the right version number.

How To Add Mods To The Custom Profile In The Twitch Launcher

These steps will take you through the process of adding mods to your modpack

If you do not already have any mods installed you will see a small Get More Content button at the top right of the window.

This screen will show all available Mods for the version of Minecraft you selected for the profile.

To see information about a mod, simply click anywhere in the highlighted box when mousing over the mod in the list. You can also search through the mods by using the search box and sort the list to be able to find what you are looking for the fastest.

Repeat this process until you have all the mods you would like added to your pack.

In this tutorial, were going to use the Twitch app available for PC users. Its available for MAC systems, but I dont know if the instructions are the same as I dont own an Apple computer.

For the rest of this tutorial, Im going to assume you already have the Java Edition of Minecraft installed and ready to go.

Locate The Minecraft Application Folder

The Minecraft folder is where youll drag and drop all the mod files required to change how you play. Instead of poking around in your hard drives, you can just follow these simple steps to locate it.

On Windows, youll do these steps:

Ensure Minecraft isnt running at all.

In the search bar, type %appdata% without the quotation marks and go to the folder with the same name.

Scroll and look for the .minecraft folder.

If you want to skip these steps in the future, just create a shortcut for it on your desktop for easy access.

If youre playing on Mac, use these instructions:

Ensure Minecraft is closed and not running.

Locate the Go tab at the top of the screen.

Select Go to Folder.

Type in or past ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft without the quotation marks.

Select Go to reach the folder.

Similarly, you can make a shortcut to the folder on your desktop if you want to access it quickly.

Once youve located the proper folder, its time to install the mods themselves.

How To Download Modpacks

Knowing which modpack you would like to download is the first step in finding the perfect pack for your server. Modpacks can come from a variety of sites such as CurseForge, Technic, FTB, or ATL. When you find a modpack you would like to download, you will need to check for a server download. If the modpack does not have one, you will need to convert it.

CurseForge

Head to CurseForge and select the page of a modpack you want.

On this page, check to the right under the Recent Files tab. You are going to be looking for a section saying Minecraft Server Packs.

Once you find the server packs tab, click the download icon on the latest file.

Move the file into a directory where you can find it later.

Technic

Head to the Technic site, click Browse Modpacks, then find the pack you want to download.

Once you are on the modpacks page, to the right of the page you will see a Server Download button. Go ahead and click that.

Once the file is downloaded, move the zip to a directory for later use.

ATLauncher

Head to ATLaunchers website, click Download and download the launcher.

Open/install the ATLauncher, then the accounts tab to the right of the screen, and add your Minecraft account.

Make sure you have the account selected from the bottom dropdown.

Find the modpack you want and press Create Server

How To Make A Minecraft Modpack On Twitch

The mods can be in ZIP files that you need to unzip and decompress. After this, youll get a folder containing all the mods contents, usually all sorted within folders themselves. To install the mods, just drag them into the mods folder.

This is the case for both Windows and Mac.

Drag and drop the mods into the corresponding mods folder.

Launch Minecraft.

If there are no error messages, you should be able to enjoy the mods without a problem.

And thats how you install mods using Minecraft Forge. The process isnt confusing at all, right?

Sharing Minecraft Twitch Mods With Friends

Perhaps you have a house full of people and everyone wants to play your custom Minecraft modpacks. Maybe you simply want to upload the pack to your website so others can enjoy playing.

For whatever the reason, sharing your Twitch mods is quite easy.

This method also works great if you want a backup of your modpack in the event you get a new computer or if something happens to your data.

In this screen, you have three available options:

Profile NameIts probably a good idea to keep the name the same so its easy to identify, but this is up to you.
Package VersionYou can change the version of the modpack to coincide with modifications you make later. For example, if you add a new mod to the pack, you could number it as version 1.1 or 2.0. This is also handy even if you make slight coding changes for functionality later.
Select files and folders to include in this packageIn this area, you can remove specific files or mods in the profile to not be included in the export. This is in case you have specific elements you dont want anyone else to have.

In most cases, I leave everything as-is and just save the file. But this is optional based on what you want to do with the modpack.

After changing the options, click the Export button.

You can now save the package to your computer. When I shared the package with my kids, I saved it directly to a USB drive. You can probably also just share it across your local network or through an email. Its up to you.

Create A Custom Profile

From within the Twitch Launcher, click on the Minecraft tab on the left. It looks like a Creeper.

There will be three options on the top: Browse All Modpacks, Browse FTB modpacks, and Create Custom Profile. Click on the last one, Create Custom Profile.

Give the profile whatever name you’d like.

Choose the Minecraft version, such as 1.10.2, and choose the modloader version. The currently selected modloader should be fine. Don’t change it unless you know what you are doing.

Press the okay button and the launcher will create your custom profile.

How To Install A Custom Modpack On Your Minecraft Server

How To Create A Custom Modpack Server Using Curseforge

ServerMiner makes it super easy to create a server with your own custom modpack using Overwolf’s CurseForge app.

The first step is to onto your computer:

Once CurseForge has installed and opened, go ahead and tile button.

Click the Create Custom Profile tab.

Next step is to name your modpack, then select the Minecraft version you’d like your modpack to use and then choose a Forge version. If in doubt, we recommend choosing the latest Forge version. You can then click the Create button.

Congrats! You just created a very basic modpack. The next step is to add mods to your pack. Firstly, .

This is the fun part where you can install all the mods you’d like in your pack. You can always add or remove mods in the future. To install a mod, just click the Install button.
