Gamers in Minecraft will find themselves having access to the massive maps in the game, where you could feel free to discover and enjoy all of their unique aspects. And most importantly, the maps in Minecraft will feature all kind of resources that you can collect. It could be foods from trees or animals, items that can be used for crafting, and valuable ores with a variety of different uses.

Why Are Minecraft Mods So Popular

Before mods came along, games were very much like movies. They would only offer a single, predictable storyline, and you had no choice but to stick to what was delivered. In addition, the reward system was fixed and predictable. As a result, games would become boring and repetitive rather quickly.

Enter the world of mods, and the possibilities are limitless! Talented programmers have ensured that almost every aspect of the game is customizable to give you a new experience every time you pick up your playing device.

How many times have you explored a new area only to be met with nothing but vast emptiness? The Millénaire mod fixes that by introducing a wealth of new content into spaces where thered usually be nothing. Villagers are replaced by human men, women, and children, instead of the bog-standard villager. Even villages have had a makeover to incorporate 11th-century Norman, North Indian and Mayan themes.

Creating A Custom Tool

http://cdn.file

Let’s make a simple spear, with damage ability similar to a stone sword.

So, to start off with we need to make a new directory called tools in your package. Next create a new Java enum called ModItemTier. In this file you need to type a variant of the following:

Next, you need to register your item. Go to your item registry class and make a new item like the one here:

publicstaticfinalRegistryObject< SwordItem> NAME_SPEAR=ITEMS.register-> newSwordItem).tab))

The numbers are the base attack damage and the speed modifier, the values chosen for the example are intermediate between a sword and an axe.

After this, you need to make a JSON file in src/main/resources/assets/examplemod/models/item called what you set earlier, like so:

}

Then, go to your textures folder and input the texture you will make in the next step. If you want to know more about durability I recommend this page.

Custom Layers over Vanilla Textures

This section is a work in progress.

Textures from Scratch

Open an image editor, preferably one that supports transparency, and create a new image, with a size that is a multiple of 16×16

Creating a 32×32 pixel canvas in GIMP

This example is using a 32×32 pixel image and is made in GIMP.

Create your file, making sure it is in pixels and not inches, millimetres, or any other measurement.

Create a new layer, and delete the original canvas. If you don’t do that, then your image will have a white background.

Ender Chests & Shulker Boxes

One of the biggest challenges when exploring in Minecraft is managing inventory space. With a limited number of slots for items, it can be difficult to determine what valuables you keep and which players have to leave behind when on their travels.

Thankfully, the folks who developed the Ender Storage mod had an elegant solution. Crafted with Blaze Rods, Obsidian and an Ender Pearl, the player could craft an Ender Chest, which would store any items held within it, even after the chest is broken. Sound familiar? In Version 1.3, Ender Chests would become a feature in Vanilla Minecraft, giving players a personal storage system. Then, in Version 1.9, Shulker Boxes were added, which gave players even more portable storage options.

History Of Minecraft I Guess/development Phases Of Minecraft

History of Minecraft

Minecraft is a sandbox video game which is designed by Markus Persson and developed by Mojang Studios. Minecraft is an open-world game, which was officially released on the18th of November 2011. Markus Notch Persson was a Swedish programmer who has already developed a few games before Minecraft. In this game, you can build whatever you imagine.

Notch was inspired by the game Infiniminer. Infiniminer is also an open-world game in which the player plays as a miner who is searching for minerals.

In Infiniminer, players will carve the tunnels in search of minerals, with the help of maps. Infiniminer was released on 29 April 2009. Infiniminer was published by Zachtronics industries and developed by Zachary Barth. This game was firstly released for Microsoft Windows.

The First Phase of Minecraft development cycle

The original name of Minecraft was ”Cave Man”. The development of Minecraft started in 2009, and its first version was created in less than a week. There were only two blocks in the game which were grass and cobblestone. Initially, the world was flat.

The Second Phase of Minecraft development cycle

The game was first released on TIGSource Forums on 17 May 2009. The feedback that Notch received was very helpful in improving the game. Notch then added the hills, trees, and lakes. There were also added some building blocks for instance dirt, stones, and planks.

Minecraft version: 1.7.10 – 1.15.1 |

Okay, okay, so this one may be cheating. Weve all seen monstrous builds online which make our 5×5 dirt house pail in comparison. But what happens if you want to turn the tables? What happens if you want an enormous city in a matter of seconds? Thats where the Instant Structures mod comes in. Simply cycle through the creative menu, drop a block, right click it, and a building will magically spawn. Structures range from castles, to houses, all the way to tram stations. Yeah, sure, its technically cheating, but we wont tell anyone.

Halloween Luckyblocks By Hycrafthd

On the less terrifying side of things, Halloween LuckyBlocks adds a variety of Halloween-themed blocks, props, and costumes to let you live out your trick-or-treating dreams on your server with your friends. It adds witch’s broomsticks, clown and scarecrow costumes, candy bags and much more.

Available for Forge up to version 1.16.5, the mod isn’t without some scary elements, though – it also adds a scarier zombie variant, a ghost, and a vampire, so keep one eye open when you’re dressing up for candy!

Preparing For Minecraft Mod Installation

Before modding Minecraft, there are a few things you need to do.

  • Ensure that your device can handle mods. If youre playing on a PC, for example, you might want to upgrade your graphics to the latest version available.
  • Make sure your device has enough storage. As with all installations, mods take up space.
  • Familiarize yourself with the standard process of downloading external programs.
  • Know the game edition youre playing. Some mods are best suited for specific editions.
  • Know how to Add Mods to Minecraft.

Mods are simple to download and install, but it is important to note that not all Minecraft editions use mods. If you want to use mods, you must be using the Java edition of Minecraft. Consoles, as well as the Bedrock edition, do not accommodate mods. However, programmers have come up with add-ons that can be added to the Bedrock edition, serving the same purpose as mods.

Assuming youre using the Java edition of Minecraft, installing mods is simple. However, theres a catch. Mods do not work in regular Minecraft. First, you must install Forge. This program is specialized and designed to integrate mods into Minecraft. Luckily, Forge is widely available on the internet, and its installation is straightforward.

When downloading Forge, choose the install file that matches your selected mods version requirements. If your mods are built for version 1.15.3, you must download and install version 1.15.3 of Forge.

Things You Are Not To Do

There are some things that you should be careful to not do when creating a mod. Keep this list in mind:

  • Don’t release Minecraft versions or modifications that allow you to play without having bought Minecraft from Mojang Studios.
  • Don’t release the de-compiled source code of Minecraft in any way.
  • Don’t modify existing mods without permission from that mod’s author. Check their License, usually available in the author’s GitHub repository. If you can’t find the license, then you do not have permission to share a modified version with anybody. You may tinker with the files for personal use only.

What Is A Submod

Going on our definition, a submod is a version of the base Lord of the Rings mod that has edited the assets or code of the mod. Our submod uses both of these methods to re-purpose the Lord of the Rings mod into a mod set in the First Age. Note that you cannot use both the Lord of the Rings mod and the First Age submod at the same time.

Obtain A Source Distribution

Visit and make sure the version selected is the version for which you want to create a mod. In the large “Download Recommended” box, click on the small MDK box. A dialog box will appear, asking where you want to save the file, and what to name it. Choose any convenient location, but leave the name unchanged.

Roguelike Dungeons And Adventure

Slaying the First Boss in Minecraft’s Terraria Mod!
  • Genre: Medieval, adventure and RPG, with new structures

Minecraft has a few cool structures in its vanilla version, but nothing quite as intense and crazy as Roguelike’s. This mod adds a bunch of new structures into the world for players to discover, and these structures are large and very difficult to conquer.

Moreover, it adds in several new dimensions with boss enemies that will require players to grind and level up first before attempting to fight them. It’s the perfect mod for those who love old school RPGs and a real challenge.

What is there to say about Optifine that hasn’t already been said a thousand times over? It’s the most popular Minecraft mod in existence. It drastically increases the number of customisation options for Minecraft’s graphics and rendering, making Mojang’s notoriously un-optimised behemoth of a game surprisingly performant.

Plus it lets you run all the best Minecraft shaders 1.17.1 has to offer, making your Minecraft world look more glorious than ever.

To run Optifine with Forge, you’ll also need to download OptiForge and MixinBootstrap, and place all three files in your Minecraft mods folder.

How Do I Get Minecraft Mods

There are probably thousands of websites that host Minecraft mods. One of the most popular sites is minecraftmods.com. It is important to note that the great majority of mods need forge. Forge is a program that allows users to install and run mods in Minecraft.

As a side note, before you start downloading and installing things on your computer, make sure that you have an antivirus installed and that it is up to date. Also, when browsing for mods always choose the ones that have good reviews.

Dual Wielding & Shields

Long gone are the days of Minecraft combat being decided by who can spam-click the fastest. Version 1.9, titled The Combat Update, changed Minecraft’s combat forever, adding a Shield to the game and a second hand in which to hold it. The second hand has become a key aspect of gameplay, allowing not just Shields to be held, but Maps, Torches & Tools as well.

That said, The Mine & Blade Mod was ahead of the game in that aspect, giving players not just a second hand but a whole weapon wheel from which to select their tools. Along with Shields, The Mine & Blade mod revolutionised Minecraft combat long before Mojang tried it.

A Brief History Of Minecraft Modding

Minecraft modding has been around since nearly the beginning. During that time it has gone through several transformations or eras. The early days and early mods looked very different from today. I first became involved in the community during Mid-Beta, so everything that happened before then is second hand knowledge. A great deal has been lost to the sands of time, but the important stops along the way are remembered, as we shall explore.

Minecraft has gone through several development stages over the years. Interestingly, these stages also correspond to the various eras of Minecraft Modding. Minecraft Survival was first experienced as Survival Test during Classic, then again in the Indev stage, which gave way to Infdev, then to Alpha and Beta before finally reaching Release. But before all that was Classic.

Classic was released in May of 2009 and development continued into September of that year. Classic saw the introduction of Survival and Multiplayer. During this period of Minecrafts history, modding was in its infancy. On the one hand, Server modding thrived during this stage with several different Server mods available. Generally, the purpose of these mods was to give server admins more tools for maintaining their servers. On the other hand, however, Client side mods, ones that add new content, didnt really start appearing until the Alpha stage.

Creating a biosphere, of decent size, takes around eight-hours, give or take. I know this because I spent eight-painstaking-hours making one. By the end, I wanted to chuck Minecraft into a nearby volcano. Making something spherical rather than a jagged diamond isnt easy. Thankfully, the Biospheres mod removes all the annoying obstacles and spawns you into a world where the sky is overrun with various floating biomes. Just dont fall off, yeah?

The greatest selling PC game ever

In celebration of TechRadar’s PC Gaming Week 2020, lets take a look at the history of Minecraft, from its humble beginnings to being the best selling PC game of all time.

“I dont see myself as a real game developer. I make games because its fun, and because I love games and I love to program”

    Markus ‘Notch’ Persson

It all began in 2009. Back then, a number of people had some seriously good ideas. One of those people was Zach Barth, who went out to found the perennial puzzle innovator Zachtronics. It was Zach who coded and released multiplayer mineral-em-up Infiniminer over the course of a few months, abandoning the freeware project after its source code was leaked.

Another was Swedish coder Markus ‘Notch’ Persson who, after previously helping develop sandbox MMO Wurm Online, was working in his spare time on a kind of Dungeon Keeper/Dwarf Fortress/Rollercoaster Tycoon combo named RubyDung.
