What Are Minecraft Texture Packs
Minecraft Texture Packs are basically a collection of files used to change the textures of in-game elements, from blocks and items to full-on mobs and actual in-game environments.
Think of them as mods that are purely aesthetic. Theyre created, distributed, and installed with the sole purpose of changing the games visuals.
Say youre tired of the hyper-pixelated or blocky look of Minecrafts Bedrock Edition. Use a texture pack to turn those square edges into something more sleek and realistic looking. Or use a different pack to keep the style of graphics but make them sharper, crisper, more HD. Or you could throw all that completely out the window and install a texture pack that turns Minecraft into a soft, pastel wonderland.
Whatever style you want, we can guarantee theres a Minecraft texture pack for it.

How Do I Install Addons Resource Packs Or Behavior Packs On My Bedrock Server
Please note that this article is only for Minecraft: Bedrock Edition servers. If you need assistance with a Java Edition world, please take a look at our article for Java Edition datapacks here.
Before installing any addons, be sure to make sure that they’re compatible with your server. Quite a bit changes between major updates, so it’s always a good idea to make sure that the addons that you plan to install have been updated to support the version of Minecraft on your server. It’s also important to note that behavior packs that overwrite the same file will not work together. As an example, if two behavior packs modify the player.json file, only the first behavior pack will work properly.

Manual Installation Via Windows Explorer
This method is very similar to the one above and ends the same way. The only difference if that you do not need to open the game to use this method. Instead, open the start menu and search for %appdata%. Click on the folder that comes up, then open the .Minecraft folder. Then open the resourcepacks folder. This will open the folder on your PC that you will need to put a downloaded Resource Pack into. Move the pack into that folder and it will do the same at the in-game method without opening the game. When you do open the game next, like with the prior method, move the pack from Available to Selected in the Resource Pack menu to use the pack.
Advanced: Installing Addons Onto An Already Existing World:

NOTE: We highly recommend giving the above sections a try first. The two methods above will work regardless of what format your addons are in, as long as you’re able to import them into your Minecraft client.
Before getting started: if your addons are in .mcpack or .mcaddon format, before you’ll be able to follow these steps, you’ll need to extract the folders from inside these files. To do this, follow these steps:
Right click the addon .mcpack or .mcaddon file on your computer, hover over “Open With”, then open the file with an unzip program of your choice like 7-zip or Bandizip.
Extract the folder addon folder to somewhere on your computer.
To verify that every extracted properly, open the folder that was extracted and you should see a manifest.json file along with other files and folders.

What’s The Difference Between Texture Packs And Resource Packs
As far as most people need to be concerned, there’s no difference between a texture pack and a resource pack. If you do want a bit of Minecraft history though, Texture Packs are actually the deprecated system for adding new textures to Minecraft. All of the packs you’ll find on this list are technically Resource Packs, the new system that allows you to add all sorts of custom assets to Minecraft like animations, fonts, sounds, and more, not just textures.

How To Install Resource Pack In Minecraft Windows 10 Edition
If you want to further customize the look and feel of your Minecraft world, you can install resource pack in Minecraft Windows 10 Edition. Follow the below steps to learn how to do it.
Though many think Minecraft Windows 10 Edition is far more limited than the good old Java Edition, you can still do a lot of things. One of those things is the ability to install resource packs like skins and textures. In fact, there are some awesome global resource packs that completely change the look and feel of the Minecraft world.
So, without further ado, let me show how you can install a resource pack in Minecraft Windows 10 Edition.
Temporary Installation For Servers
Very different from the other two methods, some Minecraft servers have built in resource packs specifically for that that server. If this is the case, you do not need to do anything beforehand, or either of the above methods if all you want is that singular pack. Instead, load p the server in question and you should be prompted to choose whether or not you want to load in the servers custom Resource Pack. Say yes in order to activate it, and it should load every time you enter that server from an added server, or prompt you each time via direct connect.

Editing The Serverproperties File
Before editing your server.properties file, you will need to prepare the URL you now have for direct download. The critically important step here, is to edit the 0 at the end of the URL and replace it with a 1, so that it says ?dl=1. If the zero 0 is not changed to a one 1, it won’t actually download the file automatically when Minecraft accesses the URL. For example, if your Resource Pack URL is https://www.dropbox.com/s/< RandomID> /ResoucePack.zip?dl=0, you would use https://www.dropbox.com/s/< RandomID> /ResoucePack.zip?dl=1 in your server.properties file.
If using the NodePanel, our custom solution for hosting game servers, you can set the Resource Pack configuration options via the “Game Settings” page and “Gamemode” tab:
If you’re hosting elsewhere, or prefer to edit the files manually, look for the following lines in your server.properties file:
resource-pack=resource-pack-sha1=
Paste the Resource Pack URL from Dropbox into the resource-pack line, after the equals sign. As mentioned above, ensure the URL has been tweaked to allow direct download with dl=1.
resource-pack=https://www.dropbox.com/s/< RandomID> /ResourcePack.zip?dl=1
If you’ve generated a SHA-1 hash, you can include that here as the resource-pack-sha1 value. For example, if your generated SHA-1 hash for the previous Resource Pack was cf23df2207d99a74fbe169e3eba035e633b65d94, you would use the following in your server.properties:

Find A Minecraft Texture Pack To Install
This one can be harder than it looks. The Internet is swamped with texture packs you could download. Some are good, while others arent.
Some web sites such as MinecraftTexturePacks.com and PlanetMinecraft.com specialize in cataloging packs for your perusal. Spend some quality time browsing their selections and see what appeals to you.
For our simple example, we selected the oCd Texture Pack 1.5. It looked cartoony but appealing. When you find one you like, download it somewhere. Doesnt matter where, just so long as you can find it.
