On the opposite side of things, your friend needs to fire up Minecraft and select Multiplayer from the main menu.

Sending An Invitation To A Friend

This is a simple process where users have to open the title and enter the world they want to invite their friends. Once they enter this world, they have to send an invitation to their friend.
Xbox Live friends can be added to Minecraft, and in case the friend’s name is not showing, players can add them through their gamer tag.

How To Use A Premade Multiplayer Server With ‘minecraft Realms’

Playing Minecraft: Pocket Edition Locally
Playing locally means that you and your friends can play within the same worldbut only when youre all connected to the same Wi-Fi connection. Within your game settings, toggle the Local Server Multiplayer switch to on.
First, decide whose world you want to play in and load up that game on that persons device. This device will now be the host.

If you want to play with more players who are not on the same Wi-Fi connection, you might want to consider using servers.
Servers aremore often than notpermanently online worlds that players from around the globe have created and who have graciously opened to other players.
Most of these servers require registration while few are open to all. To find a server, try MinecraftPocket-Servers or Minecraft Pocket Edition Servers and browse for a world that youd like to join.
The server details will contain an address and a port number, which youll need to fill in within Minecraft: Pocket Edition on your Lumia. To do that, press:

Players can join your game by attaching controllers and pressing + on the controller at any point during the game. Up to 4 players can play in split-screen together. You will need either a pair of Joy-Cons per person or a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller per person to play.

Press Y on the main menu to switch to local network mode. Then one of you creates/loads a world, and it will appear in the Friends tab on the nearby Switch.

Loading The Resource Pack
Next, we need to load up the copy of Minecraft in question and apply the resource pack. Hit the ESC key to bring up the in-game menu, select Options -> Resource packs, and then, from the available resource packs, select the one you just created.
In the screenshot above, you can see the HTG Skin pack we created just for this tutorial. Click on the resource pack icon and click it again to transfer it over into the Selected Resource Pack column. Then click the Done button.
The steve.png file from the resource pack will replace the default Steve skin and, as seen above, youll be decked out in the new skin! Again, we want to emphasize that only the player applying the resource pack can see the change, but its still a fun way to customize the appearance of players on the secondary machines.
Thats all there is to it: with a simple configuration file tweak and an optional resource pack you can now play Minecraft on the local network with more than one computer. As we emphasized in the introduction, this isnt a way to crack the game for online play, and it does have its limitations. The trick is be suited for letting younger siblings play or temporary LAN parties. But if it is in your budget to buy a copy for each full time player in your household we would encourage you to do so.

Creating The Resource Pack
First, make sure youre on the same computer that you just changed the name on. Second, use the same trick to get to the game directory that we used in the previous section to access the game directory. Within the game directory, look for the /resourcepacks/ folder.
Within the resource packs folder, create a new folder. Name it something sensible like Single Player Skin Changer or Angela Skin so you will be able to easily recognize it later . Open the folder and create a new text document. Inside the text document paste the following text:

Save the text document as pack.mcmeta . Next, you need to create a series of nested folders that mimic the actual asset folders in Minecraft . You need to create an assets folder with a minecraft folder inside which, in turn, contains a textures folder with an entity folder inside, like this:
\assets\minecraft\textures\entity
Finally, you need to place the .png file of whatever skin it is you want to use in that folder and rename it steve.png. In our case we grabbed this Star Wars Sand Trooper skin from Minecraftskins.com, pasted it into the folder, and renamed it.
Server Configuration When You Are On The Same Wi
If several PCs are not far from each other and are on the same Wi-Fi or LAN network , then this setting will suit your case.
Windows: On the PC where the server is to be started, open the Start menu and enter cmd in the search to open this program:
In the opened window, type ipconfig and press enter. Look for your local IP, which starts with 192.168.*.* , for example, 192.168.1.47 , and copy it.
MacOS: To find the local IP, open the Terminal , type ifconfig |grep inet in the window, look for the IP that starts with 192.168.*.* and copy it.
Now open TLauncher, choose the version with the TL icon and run the game . If you select the version without TL icon, you will not be able to connect to the server without a Mojang license.
Go to your world and in the Pause menu click Open to LAN. The chat will display a message about the successful opening of the server, as well as the server port, 31790 in the example .
Now on another PC that needs to be connected to your server, you should also open the version with the TL icon , go to Multiplayer, open Direct connect.
Now enter the IP address + port that we got earlier, 192.168.1.47:31790 in the example. If everything is OK, the connection will be established! You can now play on the server with a friend.

Minecraft: Java Edition Lan Setup
If youre looking to quickly set up a world for friends who are in the same room as you, look no further than setting up a LAN game. As long as all players are connected to the same network, theyll be able to see and join your server.
Heres how to start a LAN game for those of you running the Java Edition:
Step 1: Start up Minecraft and select Single Player.
Step 2: After the world has finished loading, pull up the Menu screen by pressing the Esc key.
Step 3: Select the Open to LAN option.
Step 4: Choose the game mode you wish to host.
Step 5: Select Start LAN World.
Step 6: Players who want to join the game should select Multiplayer from the main menu.
