Using A Splash Potion
Splash Potions are thrown rather than consumed. Therefore, when you right-click while holding a Splash Potion, you will throw it, causing it to hit and affect all nearby mobs and/or players. Splash Potions can also be loaded into a dispenser for redstone -controlled attacks.
Note also that when a Splash Potion is used, the bottle is destroyed, as opposed to simply being emptied when you drink from it. And, as with all potions, do not stack. Therefore, you must keep a large reserve of bottles if you wish to use many Potions.

How To Make A Lingering Potion Of Decay
This Minecraft tutorial explains how to craft a Lingering Potion of Decay with screenshots and step-by-step instructions.
In Minecraft, you can brew a Lingering Potion of Decay . This potion can be thrown to create a cloud of Decay. If a player or mob runs through this cloud, they will get the for 10 seconds. This potion can also be used to craft .
Let’s explore how to make this lingering potion.
Potion Of Decay Recipe; Wither Skeleton Massacre
Wither Skeletons have a 10% chance to drop a “Scorched Bone”, which, when used as a potion ingredient with an Awkward Potion, produces a Potion of Decay that lasts for 40 seconds *. Said drop would resemble the existing Bone item, but the same colour as coal. It would be held as a tool .
I personally feel that this suggestion would fit thematically, as Wither Skeleton attacks induce the Wither effect. It would also add an additional incentive to hunt Wither Skeletons, as to promote slaying them for the rare but desired Wither Skulls.
This idea has been suggested before, but usually with the Wither Skull/Nether Star as an ingredient, which seems to be an exorbitant ingredient to use.
*As it would likely be brewed as a splash/lingering potion, expect the effect time to be much lower when used offensively.

How To Use A Brewing Stand And Where To Find One

A brewing stand is a mid-game item. Typically, players will have to craft it on their own , finding a Nether Fortress and gathering Blaze Rods. However, villages, igloos with basements and woodland mansions will occasionally have brewing stands. To craft a brewing stand, combine a Blaze Rod with three pieces of;any type of stone.
The brewing stand needs to be fueled. To do this, place Blaze Powder in the top left square to fill up the progress bar on the left. This represents the fuel available. Brewing stands need to be refueled regularly. To start brewing, gather a bunch of glass bottles and fill them with water. Make sure to also have Nether Wart on hand, since this red mushroom-like plant is the base ingredient for the grand majority of potions. Creating Area Effect Clouds
Lingering potions are thrown, like splash potions, by using them. On impact they explode, creating a cloud. The cloud is made of the potion particles corresponding to the potion that was thrown.
The cloud starts with a radius of 3 blocks, decreasing to 0 over the course of 30 seconds. During the cloud’s existence, any player or mob that walks into it after the first second gets the corresponding status effect; this decreases the radius by a 12 block immediately, causing the cloud to disappear more quickly.
For effects with duration, the duration applied by the cloud is 14 that of the corresponding potion. For effects without duration such as healing or harming, the potency of the effect is 12 that of the corresponding potion.
The effect may be applied consecutively if the player or mob remains in the cloud. For example, a player throwing the Lingering Potion of Healing II straight down consumes the cloud within a few seconds while being healed 5 times for a total of 20× 10 health. As far as healing is concerned, this makes the lingering potion much more powerful than the regular or splash potion, provided that the player is away from other mobs or players.
Lingering potions can also be thrown out of dispensers like splash potions.
