Lego Minecraft The Mountain Cave Review
One new set that we havent talked about yet is the enormous #21137 LEGO Minecraft Mountain Cave. With 2,863 pieces, this is the largest LEGO Minecraft set released to date, and because the set is built of mostly standard LEGO bricks, it is also one of the largest sets as far as overall size. So lets talk about this beast!
And of course, for LEGO Minecraft fans The Mountain Cave is meant to be the crown jewel of their layout, and the ultimate set in their collection. Keep in mind that the set is huge, measuring over 12 high, 20 wide and 11 deep, so you will need a lot of space to display it. It practically needs its own table! Speaking of Minecraft fans who are always looking for more characters, the set includes Steve and Alex, plus a cave spider, wolf, baby wolf, slime, 2 small slimes, 2 bats, zombie, enderman, skeleton, sheep and a charged Creeper. The charged Creeper is definitely the best, but I also like the big slime with the small slimes inside lots of fun.
Just like all other LEGO Minecraft sets, the layout of the Mountain Cave is modular. This means that chunks of the set are built as a unit, and they can be swapped around to quickly and easily create a different layout without taking apart the whole model. The back of the instruction manual includes a couple of alternate layouts as inspiration, and of course, you can make your own as well.

Official Announcement Of Lego Minecraft : The Mountain Cave
After some intriguing jigsaw puzzle type reveals on the account, LEGO has finally announced the official details of 21137: The Mountain Cave. Needless to say, its big. Really big. It tips the scales at 2,863 pieces, and is well and truly the largest set in the minifigure scale Minecraft theme. The closest set to it would be 21128: The Village, at 1600 pieces.
Ive never been a huge fan of the sets I love the game , but to me, the sets seemed too simple. Basic bricks with a few printed inclusions just wasnt enough of a drawcard for me. This one looks like a lot of fun though theres plenty of detail and things to see.
The release date for 21137: The Mountain Cave will be July 1, and will cost US $249.99 / CA $299.99 / UK £259.99. No word on an Australian price yet, but it will be hefty. When it is known, Ill update the post. What I do know is VIP Early Access will be available from .
EDIT: Weve now got confirmation that this set will set Aussies back $399.99. Its certainly pricey.
Included in the set are two minifigures, Steve and Alex, and a plethora of creatures including:
- Charged Creeper
Theres also loads of great features such as a minecart track and two minecarts, a first night shelter , a light brick, a revolving cave spider spawner, and much more. The entire setup is modular, so the model can be set up in a number of different configurations.

The Mountain Cave Is The Biggest Minecraft Lego Set Yet

A little late to the party posting this , but LEGO has officially announced the biggest Minecraft set 21137 The Mountain Cave.
The LEGO Minecraft Mountain Cave contains 2863 pieces, handily surpassing 21128 The Village by 1263 pieces. The Mountain Cave will retail for AU$399.99 / US$249.99 / CA $299.99 / 249.99 / £259.99 and is set for a 1 July 2017 release date. As with most D2C sets, LEGO VIPs will receive early access to this set on 15 June 2017.

Ill be completely honest I know next to nothing about Minecraft having never played the game, although I do recognize the propertys massive impact on gaming and pop culture. Pretty sure Youtube earns a massive chunk of revenue from Minecraft Lets Play videos.
As I dont really have an active interest in the franchise, I dont think I can really add much thought or an informed opinion to this set other than a generic perspective from a LEGO fan.
The scale of The Mountain Cave is certainly quite impressive and I love that the focal part of this set is an amazing minecart track with an integrated redstone-powered minecart elevator, and an array of other features and functions, including TNT blasting, rotating spider-spawner, charged Creeper explosion and a lava burst.
Largest Ever Lego Minecraft Set Announced: 21137 The Mountain Cave
The LEGO Minecraft world just got a whole lot bigger. Today LEGO has announced the largest set yet for the minifigure-scale theme, 21137 The Mountain Cave. Coming in at a staggering 2,863 pieces and a retail price of $249.99 when it arrives July 1, young Minecraft fans had better hope Grandma has deep pockets if they put this on the wishlist . This is the second large exclusive for the Minecraft theme, following last years 21128 The Village.
As the name implies, the set features a sizable stone mountain thats riddled with caves. The mountains footprint is 20x11in , and has minecart tracks, a small home, and a light brick that can be positioned to light a jack o lantern, lava, or several other features. The set features lots of new printed elements, along with two minifigures and 13 mobs, including some new ones such as a baby wolf, bats, a charged creeper, and a giant slime. As with other large exclusives, we expect it to be available about two weeks early for LEGO VIP members.

As shown on the back of the box, the various modules can be rearranged to alter the landscape.
The small stone home has a creeper face made of ice blocks.
The home is equipped with a map, creeper head, bed, and oven, among other things.
The skeleton and zombi share a set of gold armor.
They may look cute, but both wolf and baby wolf feature the red, angry eyes that indicate theyre hostile mobs.

With the last piece of the puzzle revealed last week, we caught our first, albeit fragmented, sneak peek at the largest LEGO Minecraft set ever produced.
LEGO Minecraft fans can rejoice as LEGO has officially announced the LEGO Minecraft The Mountain Cave !
It clocks in at a whopping 2,863 pcs which weighs translates to approximately 3.3kg of bricks. The Recommended Retail Price for this set is USD$249.99 which works out to be about USD$0.08 per piece which is quite fair.
The Singapore RRP is SGD$449.90 which brings this to about SGD15¢ a piece which is a little on the high side. A good ratio for parts per cost would be about 10¢ per piece.
The minifigures included are Steve and Alex but there are a host of other brick built Minecraft characters like the slimes, Bats, Sheep, Wolf and Charged Creeper.
The LEGO Minecraft theme feels like it has come full circle as it started off as a game which was inspired by LEGO bricks that is now looked upon by The LEGO Group for inspiration to their sets.
