How To Add Mods To Minecraft On Android

Minecraft How to Make a Minecraft Mod 1.12.2 Without Coding Easy Tutorial (Forge)2018

When it comes to hand-held versions of Minecraft, it is still not possible to download and install actual mods. However, you can get add-ons from third-party apps like BlockLauncher, Mods for Minecraft PE, and Add-ons for Minecraft.;Heres how you can install add-ons to Minecraft on Android.

  • Visit the Google Play Store and install BlockLauncher. This acts pretty much like Forge by integrating add-ons into Minecraft.
  • Visit Google Store once again and install Mods for Minecraft PE. This software helps you access, download, and install mods.
  • Open Mods for Minecraft PE and select the mod you want. Then, click on Install.
  • Once a mod has been installed via Mods for Minecraft PE, it will automatically apply to Minecraft.

What If I Want To Create My Own Mods

With todays technology coding your own mods is pretty simple. One option is to use Java and Forge. Youll need to install several things. First youll need to install Java – to be able to run and test your code, Forge – to run the mods in Minecraft, a text editor – to create the code, and obviously Minecraft. For more information about that you can visit this Tutorials/Creating Forge mods Gamepedia page. The other option is to use a website that does most of the work. LearnToMod is a website that sends the mods directly to your own server without the need to install anything extra. These mods run in a multiplayer server that you can start from within the website. This is the website we use to run our Minecraft modding classes.

    The Instant Lake Block

The Instant Lake Block mod makes crafting lakes in Minecraft a breeze in survival mode. If you havent figured out what it does from its name, it lets you instantly fill an area enclosed by blocks with water. And if you want some protection for your fortress, you can even use the lava block to instantly have red hot lava brimming in the open space. The instant lake block can be crafted using eight buckets of water, while the instant lava block needs an equal number of lava buckets. The services of this mod come in very handy if you wish to create some lakes for scenery or for filling in holes caused by recent explosions. The Instant Lake Block is an incredibly simple yet useful mod that adds a lot of fun to the vanilla Minecraft experience.

    Is Modding Minecraft Illegal

It is not illegal to install mods or playing modded Minecraft. It is a question that many new fans ask. Microsoft and Mojang have pretty much given their blessings when it comes to developers experimenting with building fun Minecraft mods since the End User License Agreement states that those whove bought the game can alter it via modifications, tools, or plugins, and also share these mods for free. So if you find vendors offering good deals on old or new Minecraft modding walk away from them. The makers dont even like ads in the game, and had banned advertisers from the platform in 2016.

    The Best Minecraft Mods

    Minecraft version: 1.7.2 – 1.17|

Minecraft doesn’t scale too well to the power of fast or slow machines. It runs surprisingly poorly on low-end laptops, and a high-end rig can’t do much with its extra oomph. Enter Optifinea mod that not only makes Minecraft run faster but also look far better. It supports HD textures, smooth lighting, and more, and framerate doubling is not uncommon. It’s one of the first things we usually add when installing Minecraft.

    Set Up Java Developer Kit

We will need to download the Java Developer Kit that will let our Minecraft Modding in Eclipse work correctly.

You can find the for JDK 8. The version of JDK you need is JDK 8 to work properly with Minecraft Modding.

The download page should automatically detect your platform and give you the correct download. The version I am downloading that is shown in the picture is for Windows 64-bit. However, you can click Other platforms to find versions for other operating systems. Click the Latest release button to begin your download.

Now the download of the executable file will start.

Once this is finished, find the file in your downloads folder and run the executable to install the JDK.

Run through the pop up window guide to install the JDK for your computer and click on each next keeping the default settings until the JDK finishes installing.

You will need to agree to the End-User License Agreement to continue.

Let Java run its installation until it is finished.

Now that JDK is finished, we can set up our code editor in the next step.

    Setting Up Your Eclipse Project

Back in Eclipse, assuming youve left it running, you should find yourself at the Welcome screen. From here, simply click File -> Open Projects from File System and then navigate to your Minecraft Forge directory which youve just placed in your MinecraftWorkspace directory in the previous step. For example, here is mine:

Once youve selected your Forge directory, click the Finish button. At this point you should see something like this:

If, for whatever reason, this view doesnt appear for you automatically, just navigate to Window -> Show View -> Package Explorer. In any case, you should be seeing that we have an ExampleMod.java file an example mod for Minecraft, however you should be seeing that it has a number of errors. Lets fix these.

: Before proceeding to Step 4 you will need to make some quick fixes to your build.gradle file due to changes that require Gradle to now use HTTPS instead of HTTP. See this Git-Hub Gist for an example build.gradle file with the fixes youll need to get going. .

Finding Or Creating The Mods Folder

If you’re already familiar with navigating your computer and don’t need the step-by-step, the exact address for the “mods” folder is: C:\Users\”username”\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft

To find or create the “mods” folder for Minecraft: Java Edition mods, follow these steps:

  • On your computer, navigate to and open the File Explorer application to find the mods folder.
  • Open the View tab in the upper left-hand corner of File Explorer.
  • Inside, make sure Hidden Items is selected.

  • Now, navigate to Your PC in File Explorer.
  • Open Local Disc .

  • Find and open Users folder.

  • Open your user folder. Mine is boddy.

  • Open the AppData folder.

  • Find and open the Roaming folder.

  • Find and open the .minecraft folder.

  • Look for the mods folder.
  • If the mods folder is not present, right-click with your mouse, highlight the “New” menu, and click the “Folder” option.
  • Once the new folder is created, name it “mods” without the quotation marks.

    Creating A Custom Tool

Let’s make a simple spear, with damage ability similar to a stone sword.

So, to start off with we need to make a new directory called tools in your package. Next create a new Java enum called ModItemTier. In this file you need to type a variant of the following:

Next, you need to register your item. Go to your item registry class and make a new item like the one here:

    publicstaticfinalRegistryObject<SwordItem>NAME_SPEAR=ITEMS.register->newSwordItem).tab));

The numbers are the base attack damage and the speed modifier, the values chosen for the example are intermediate between a sword and an axe.

After this, you need to make a JSON file in src/main/resources/assets/examplemod/models/item called what you set earlier, like so:

    }

Then, go to your textures folder and input the texture you will make in the next step. If you want to know more about durability I recommend this page.

    Custom Layers over Vanilla Textures

This section is a work in progress.

    Textures from Scratch

Open an image editor, preferably one that supports transparency, and create a new image, with a size that is a multiple of 16×16

Creating a 32×32 pixel canvas in GIMP

This example is using a 32×32 pixel image and is made in GIMP.

Create your file, making sure it is in pixels and not inches, millimetres, or any other measurement.

Create a new layer, and delete the original canvas. If you don’t do that, then your image will have a white background.

Importing Minecraft Mods With Minecraft Forge

A Beginnerâs Guide to Modding Minecraft (With Java)

Now that your mod is complete, all that’s left to do is import it into Minecraft.

To install this mod, or any other mod, you need to install Minecraft Forge. Forge provides a simple and easy way to install custom mods into Minecraft itself.

From the Forge home page, download an installer suitable for your operating system and Minecraft version. Run the installer, and when prompted, choose Install client.

Once installed, launch or restart Minecraft. From the Minecraft Launcher, press the up arrow to the right of the play button at the bottom. Select Forge. This will load Minecraft with Forge, so you will need to do this everytime you want to use your mod.

When in Minecraft, things will look different with Forge running. There’s some extra text at the bottom, along with a Mods button.

Choose the Mods button, and you’ll see that your mod is not visible. You need to install your mod into Forge/Minecraft. Installation involves copying and pasting your mod into the mods folder of Minecraft.

    • On Windows, this is in AppData/.minecraft/
    • On Mac, this is in Library/Application Support/minecraft/

You may need to restart Minecraft if you’ve pasted your mod while it is running. Enter the mods menu, and your mod will show up, complete with description, title, picture, and creator information. Well done!

For this example, the “super_diamond” is now visible alongside all the other blocks.

    Writing Your First Minecraft Mod

For this example mod, we’re going to produce a super diamond ore, which will produce a vast quantity of diamonds when mined, instead of the usual one or two. You might also want to get inspired by some great existing Minecraft mods.

To get started, you need a texture for your new block. This is an image which defines what your block looks like. This could be stone, wood, or any custom artwork. This example will use the diamond ore, but you can use any art you want.

From the top of the main menu, select Tools. Choose Create item/block texture. This will open the Texture Maker, where you can create your own texture, based on existing Minecraft artwork.

The texture maker contains contains four layer controls. These allow you to choose artwork and a color, which all get combined into your final texture.

Except for Layer 1, the layer controls contain the same three settings. From left to right, these are:

  • Artwork selector: Use the drop down menu or popout interface to select a piece of artwork.
  • Color picker: Select the three dots to choose a color for this layer.
  • Lock saturation and brightness: These limit the layer color brightness. Play around to see what you like.
  • Once you’ve designed your artwork, select Use at the bottom, and then Block for the texture type. Choose Exit to go back to the Workspace page. The workspace page will now list your texture.

From the left hand menu of the Workspace tab, select Mod Elements. This is where you will create your mod using your texture.

You can create a class to put your definitions in. Here we call it RegistryHandler, though some mods have separate classes for each type of object called ModItems, ModBlocks, etc; and in theory you could just add it to the main class. Having at least one class file to put registrations in without any non registration related code provides better organization for when you expand your mod.

    packagecom.example.examplemod;importnet.minecraft.item.Item;importnet.minecraft.item.ItemGroup;importnet.minecraftforge.fml.RegistryObject;importnet.minecraftforge.registries.DeferredRegister;importnet.minecraftforge.registries.ForgeRegistries;publicclassRegistryHandler

In your main class, set it up to automatically be called at the appropriate time, in the public ExampleMod constructor:

    RegistryHandler.ITEMS.register.getModEventBus);
