The flow in the top layer is managed by first placing the row of water blocks along the wall, which makes a short waterfall into the next row but does not extend all the way across the room, as water would normally do on a solid surface. Finally, place a water block opposite the hopper to cause the combined flows to sweep all floating items into the hopper.
An upside-down cobblestone stairs block is placed above the chest to prevent axolotls from leaving the room but still allow the chest to open. A block of sand is placed in front of the chest to provide a final seal to prevent any light from reaching the interior of the room. You just need to break this block to open the chest.

As of Minecraft version 1.17.1, the only way you can get a Blue Axolotl without using commands is by breeding one.
There are five different colors of Axolotl: pink, brown, gold, cyan, and blue. The baby Axolotl will usually take after one of its parents in colour, but there is a 1 in 1,200 chance that it will instead become a rare Blue Axolotl.

How To Tame And Breed Axolotls In Minecraft
You cannot tame an Axolotl, but you can force it to breed with another Axolotl to produce a baby.
To get two Axolotls to breed, you need to get them near each other, and feed each of them a Bucket of Tropical Fish to get them to enter “Love Mode”. At this point they will breed with one another, producing a baby Axolotl. This is the same process by which you can breed many other animals, such as Foxes.
Baby Axolotls will follow their parents until fully grown, which happens 20 minutes after birth. You can speed up the journey to adulthood by feeding the baby more Buckets of Tropical Fish.
You can also lead an Axolotl in a direction by approaching it and holding a Bucket of Tropical Fish in your hand, much like how a Pig will follow a carrot on a stick. This will help you when it comes to getting both Axolotls in the same place ready for breeding.
Note: Tropical Fish on its own does not do anything. You need to use a Bucket of Tropical Fish to have any effect on nearby Axolotls.

How To Breed An Axolotl In Minecraft
Players that want to breed an Axolotl in Minecraft will need a dedicated pool in their world. We recommend building the pool near the player’s home or frequented spawn point since the pool and stored Axolotls should be an easily identifiable location.
The total materials you will need for breeding Axolotls is one pool, two Axolotls, and two Buckets of Tropical Fish. The pool itself doesn’t need to be very large nor should it be, since the Axolotls should be close to each other for breeding purposes. How you design your pool is ultimately up to you, but Axolotls can climb upward a distance of one block. We built a 3x3x2 pool and only filled the water up to one block’s worth.

With the pool constructed, place each Axolotl inside the pool. Then feed each Axolotl a Bucket of Tropical Fish each. Hearts will erupt from the Axolotl after being fed. In a matter of seconds, the Axolotls will breed and produce a baby Axolotl.
