If you want to change the position of the trapdoor, pay close attention to where your cursor is aligned when you place the trapdoor. You can still hop out of the hole from your ladder even if there is a block of ladders missing. Doing this can make the trapdoor flush with the floor.

Even though it seems like you cannot stand on top of the ladder, your player character is large enough that it will be able to fit on top of where the ladder ends. Making your trapdoor flush with the floor is also a good way to hide it. You can place carpet on top of a trapdoor by holding sneak and right-clicking on top of the trapdoor.

hello everyone. today, i will tell you how to build simple drop down trap!

first, you will have to dig 10 x 6 space and dig down 2 blocks

at center, make a 2×2 hole, and at least 3 blocks deep.

next to hole you made, place sticky pistons like that

behind pistons, place base for redstone, which is quartz block as you can see. and then, place a block of your choice on sticky side of piston to use as floor

now time for redstone. place redstone repeater going into piston on base. those repeaters MUST BE FULL TICK DELAY. then, connect redstone like so.

place additional repeaters and redstone dust like so. repeaters you place now should be in 1 tick delay.

next, place a block and redstone torch on corner you didn’t put redstone and connect with rest of circuit.

build stair that will pull redstone signal up.

connect redstone coming up the stair and put 2 additional blocks which will be a wall. then, place a button.

now redstone stuff is done! fill up the rest of the floor.

now here’s the thing you should be careful about. corner that button is placed, you must left that space where my pointer is pointing to. if you put a block there, it will cut the circuit.

it’s almost done. build your wall like so

now, place an iron door next to button, and make a small room and put a chest. it will make player to press button.

now trap is all set. whoever press that button, floor will open up, and they will fell into trap. you can make anything you want bottom of hole.

A sad fact when it comes to Minecraft multiplayer is that sooner or later, you are going to get griefed. It doesnt matter who you are or what server you play on it will eventually happen. Luckily, Minecraft is all about getting creative. There are many options for hiding your most valuable items to stop thieves and griefers from stealing them. We recommend creating a secret room or an entirely secret base to hide your stuff.

Here is a brief guide with some basic secret room ideas. These can be scaled up and multiplied to hide several rooms or your entire base if you like.

Create A Disappearing Top Stair

The hidden staircase might be complete with just a trap door, but that’s boring. Your secret stair case needs more. Dig several blocks below your lever and place a line of redstone wire underneath it running to a repeater. This repeater needs to be open all the way.

Run restone wire from this repeater to a block. On the opposite side of the block, place a redstone torch.

Here you need to find your second to first stairs. These will be the second stair descending and the second to last ascending.

Remove your top stair for now and remove the blocks below where it would go. Now remove two to the right of your top stair, as seen below. The place where the top stair would go in my staircase is indicated here by a light blue wool block.

At this point the lever above must NOT be activated in order for this to work properly.

In the block farthest to the right, place a sticky piston facing the stairs. Next to it, place a sticky piston facing up. Place a redstone repeater so that current will flow into the sideways piston. Set the repeater to its most open position.

Run redstone wire from the torch you previously placed on the block to the right, to the first piston’s repeater. The piston will activate, pushing the piston next to it up against the staircase as seen below. Run redstone wire to the second up-facing piston from the same redstone torch.

Add a redstone repeater to complete the connection to the left piston. It will activate the turn-on.

This handy contraption allows you to hid chests or secret entrances in plain sight. So, here is how to build it.

You will need those items:

-Anytime of building block

-Item frame

-an item

-Redstone

-Redstone repeater

-Sticky piston

1. First build your wall. If you were to do it in your house, make room in the redstone behind it. I just build a 5 by 3 to show an example.

2. Place your item frame and the item on the wall.

3. At the place you want the hidden chest/entrance, break the block in the wall. Place a piston two blocks back from the hole you just made in the wall. Then, place your building block that matched the wall on the sticky part of the piston.

4. Behind where the item frame is, connect the wall to the piston with redstone. But leave a space between the wall and the line of restone. Like this:

5. Where the missing redstone is, place the comparator.

Make sure the arrow on it is facing away from the wall! Otherwise it wont work.

6. Lastly, about halfway through, place your repeater.
