If you go to the video tab in settings all the way at the bottom there is an option to change Anti aliasing. Im probably a dumbass but i have no idea what that is. If anyone could explain what it is and tell me if I should increase it or lower it for the best video quality? Also underneath that is an option to turn on/off texel anti aliasing should i turn that on or off for best video quality? I play on an Xbox One X but on a 1080p screen if that makes any difference. Sorry if these are dumb questions but thanks to anyone who helps!

What Types Of Anti
There are quite a few options for anti-aliasing, and thats a great thing. While it depends on the game and computer, you may not have complete access to all anti-aliasing types right off the bat. Depending on the hard drive and graphics card you are working with, you may only get a few options.
In graphics options menus, you may see different options for anti-aliasing power, depending on your hardware. If youre using an old laptop, chances are you might not even be able to use anti-aliasing at all.

Which Anti
With so many anti-aliasing techniques available, it can be hard to determine which one is right for you. If your computer can handle it, then SSAA is your best bet. If you have an AMD or NVIDA graphics card that features EQAA or CSAA, respectively, and your computer cant run SSAA, then thats the optimal solution for you.
If youre running a mid-range PC and dont have access to EQAA or CSAA, go with MSAA. For everyone out there who has a low-end PC, stick with FXAA if you want some kind of anti-aliasing measure. However, you might prefer the aliasing over the blurry image that FXAA creates. The choice is yours and will depend on your GPU more than anything else.
Keep in mind that your display setup will have an impact on aliasing as well. If youre playing games on a full HD display thats only 21 inches, for example, you wont notice much aliasing anyway. If youre playing games on a 40-inch TV at 1080p, though, youll get a lot more aliasing. The bigger that your TV is, the sharper that you need the resolution to be in order to prevent jagged edges. 2K and 4K monitors and TVs will produce far fewer jaggies because of their high pixel density.

Anti-aliasing comes with a cost and usually, that cost is processing power. The higher you go with anti-aliasing method tiers, the more youll see a performance drop. Youll have to decide which is more important: lightning-quick gameplay or aesthetically pleasing graphics.
Or you can simply buy a higher-resolution display. Just make sure that your processor can take a higher-resolution display. Otherwise, you may run into other problems like screen tearing.
