A Bona Fide Minecraft Castle
If you have ever put together a massive house made from wood and stone, chances are you have imagined what it would be like to live inside a bona fide Minecraft castle.
Dream no longer! Why not build your very own intricate Minecraft castle? With a throne room, chest rooms, armoury, and dungeons, this will be the perfect addition to any rustic Minecraft world in the later stages of the game.
Over a couple of instalments, BlueNerd Minecraft has a comprehensive tutorial explaining every step of the Castle construction process.
Break The Golden Rule
When you’re desperate, you can break the golden rule of minecraft . Dig three blocks down, and put a block above you that is not sand/gravel. Congrats, you just made the fastest shelter in Minecraft possible. Since you probably don’t have an in-game clock yet, you may want to use a real-world clock to time the night . If you have dirt or stone next to you, you can dig out a couple of blocks there, and place your crafting table and furnace. Sometimes keep the hole in the ground as a base. A torch makes your little hidey hole feel a little less like a tomb.
Dig Out A Secret Escape Tunnel
There are times when the monsters surround your base and you absolutely need to get away. In these cases, the only way out is a secret escape tunnel. These invaluable corridors lead you well away from the baddies around your base and pop you out far enough away to avoid earning their attention again.
This tunnel could also be used as an alternative entrance to your base, but you should hide it well and cover it up with the likes of a trapdoor. You could even expand your singular escape tunnel into an entire network of tunnels, for getting around under the monsters’ radar. If you want it to feel more personal, hide the secret entrance to your escape network with Sticky Pistons.
There is no reason for your base not to have an escape tunnel its miles better than charging out screaming “Leeroy Jenkins”!

Vending Machines Arcade Cabinets And More
A big problem Ive had when filling my Minecraft houses is that I often have a lot of free space and not a lot of cool ideas to fill it with. A fence-and-pressure-plate table and chairs, maybe. But it would be cool to be able to include vending machines, arcade cabinets, kitchen furniture, and more.
Both Volume 1 and Volume 2 of this series by BlenDigi feature instructions for crafting all of the above.
Unfortunately, none of them will be functional. But they will still look amazing when you have finished putting together your blocky man cave.
Cattle And Livestock Pen
I have seen it in just about every survival world my friends show me. A house with a large fenced-off square beside it, filled with just about every farm animal available on the game.
If you are looking for a fun project to make your base even more aesthetically pleasing, why not try out this Cow Pen tutorial from Fresh Joy?
Concise and well designed, there will be enough space here for all your favourite farm animals. It will also be a handy way to get close to your farm animals, given that they arent free to roam about a massive square of land.

What Biome Has The Most Diamonds
Well, according to Minecraft Feedback, diamonds are more common in desert, savannah and mesa biomes. Diamond ores are more common in Mesa, savanna, and dessert biomes, to have the best luck finding them, try to find a ravine or cave that goes under Y axis 12, since that is the most common area to find diamonds.
Minecraft Fantasy Town Build

Minecraft Base Build Preparations
As you can see this is a pretty big build project, we are going to need a lot of materials. Fortunately, the guys that made this video have included a required items list:
In addition to the video tutorial, you can also grab the template that can be downloaded as an MC world directly from the original Minecraft survival base tutorial.
Most importantly, you will need a positive attitude before we start this monstrous base. Upon first inspection, the template can look daunting. There is colored wool everywhere, but furthermore, it is only constructed from a single corner repeated four times which is very simple. As such you are really only learning to build a quarter of this base, rather than the whole thing.
What Does Yourbase Or Shelter Need
Even if you are a well-established player with plenty of building experience, just to make sure you havent forgotten anything, heres a checklist of the 10 things needed to build a perfectly sound Minecraft base or shelter:

Defending Your Base Against Hackers
You will probably want to try to protect against hackers, some of the most unfair players in a game. There are several options. Most of the options below are ways someone can protect against most hackers.
- Fly Hack
Some fly hacks can allow a hacker to easily fly around and reach any sky/end base. The best way to combat this is to place lava around the base, preferably two layers, as well as lava all the way to the block limit , so that they cannot enter easily.
- Xray Hack
What you need: Depends, but at the most, some pickaxes, any large quantity ore, and dispensers/hoppers/droppers/anything that can contain items, but not be detected by ChestESP.
For Xray hackers, they can see into the ground, ignoring any stone entities, and can see any bases underground. This is mainly for underground bases.
What you can do: 1. Make it extremely small: bases are harder to detect by x-ray-ers, if they are small. So, try to make your base as small as possible. 2. Surround it with ores: Average hackers keep x-ray on the same setting as normal, which means that they cannot see through ores. Surround your extremely small base with ores, preferably coal, with a silk touch pick. Try to make it look like a natural cluster of ores, not big or even shaped. Coal is recommended, as it is in large blobs. Also, try mixing the coal ores with other ores, preferably iron ore.
Minecraft Modern Skyscraper Build
Creating a modern-looking build in Minecraft is always an interesting challenge, as it forces you to think hard about the types of blocks you need to use. For those looking for the ultimate challenge, why not create a realistic modern skyscraper like those above, . Just make sure you get planning permission from others living nearby!

Secret Underwater Airlock Entrance
One of the most important aspects of any good Minecraft base is a secret enterence so well hidden that you can trust your precious loot is safe. Thats for defence if youre playing multi-player, or for aesthetic purposes, if youre in single-player Survival or Hardcore mode.
This idea for an Underwater Airlock by YouTuber Stormfrenzy is one of the most impressive underwater secret doors I have ever seen. It is made possible by the unique water mechanics of the Minecraft Update Aquatic. For a concept this well-executed, the redstone magic behind the scenes is not even that complicated.
Essentially, the idea uses waterlogged trapdoors to turn on and off the flow of water inside the airlock. When the doors seal, the switch changes the trapdoors to their off position, effectively draining the whole airlock of water and opening the hatch to let you walk in your secret base.
Place Plenty Of Torches
You may think your base has enough light, but what will you do when you round a corner to come face to face with a Skeleton who managed to take over your house while you were away? Nobody wants to come home to a monster in their bed.
A monster can spawn as near as 7 blocks away from a single torch. If you think about it, that really isn’t that far away. To keep the baddies on the outside, just make sure you place your torches within about 7 – 14 blocks of each other in any given direction.
It might also be wise to surround the outside of your base with well-spaced torches to keep the monsters from spawning too close to your home!

Before we get started, make sure to download the wool template. You can find the world download below.
We will be using this template to show you where to place pillars and to give you the general shape of the base. The following items will be needed to complete this build. If you are playing in survival, its recommended to grab these first.
The Worlds Smallest Minecraft Houses
A lot of the zanier ideas so far have been gigantic Minecraft houses. But what if you want to build the smallest Minecraft house possible?
A good place to start would be this awesome tutorial for a stylish minimalist home design from Random Steve Guy, which features a truly shocking number of amenities for such a small package.
However, some may even argue this is too big. Ive seen smaller houses out there, but that will ruin the fun. How small can you make your Minecraft house? Let us know in the comments!

How To Secure Your Chests
The underground cave is the easiest to secure chests with. Probably the best way to protect your vault is doing the following:
1. Make many vaults- To steal your loot, they have to aim a TNT cannon to your chests . If you have many vaults it will take them a lot of TNT to get everything, and most players will give up. Make fake vaults with empty chests too.
2. Make the richest vault in the middle- Again, the only way to steal from chests is to TNT cannon them from afar. The furthest they have to build the cannon, the more TNT they will need, The less their chances to hit are.
3. Protect the vault with obsidian and water blocks- Some servers have a plugin that allows 3 TNTs to destroy an obsidian block. This means you need more defense. Water prevents TNT from damaging blocks, so a wall made of obsidian with water in front of it is very secure.
4. Anti-hybrid defenses- Even the secure base wall described above is crack-able. A cannon shooting both sand and TNT will allow the TNT to blow inside the sand block, and that causes damage. To counter that you can make upside down stairs, instead of a straight wall, with water going down all the way. That way the sand will fall down and the TNT will not blow.
Minecraft Clock Tower Build
Just look at that clock tower. Isn’t it a beauty? It was made by YouTuber “IrieGenie” and it tells you everything you need to know about why a clock tower is the perfect thing to build in Minecraft. Cross a skyscraper with a cathedral and you’ve got a clock tower – and the best part is that you can make it in any style you like. You want to lean into the Steampunk side and fill the tower with gears and pistons? Go ahead! Or do you want a dark gothic clock tower that would look at home in a Tim Burton film? Who’s stopping you?

Mob Xp Farm / Drop Collector
An experience farm uses water currents to push most mobs into a central area. With mobs in the nether, pistons are used. Use a piston crusher or a long drop to get the mobs to a ½ heart. Mobs can be killed by hand or with a splash potion of harming to get XP. Note: This is more efficient with multiple spawners, as more spawners mean more spawning opportunities. You also obtain drops from each mob killed. This can also be done with large dark rooms with platforms. The mobs spawn and fall into water currents, where you can choose what happens to them once they are out of the spawning chamber.

A Fortified Tower For Any Biome
This How to Build a Fortified Tower Tutorial from Minecraft Sekai shows you how to construct an impressive outpost or watchtower. It features in-built fortifications to make breaking into this bad boy an extremely difficult endeavor.
This is because the stone foundations are topped up with a spider-like wooden wrap, with a house-type structure on top. This essentially splits the structure into two layers. It has a sort-of-keep area that acts as an entrance at the bottom and an accommodation on top.
Best of all, you can change the type of wood you use to use this design in whichever biome you need to. Not only that, but the design is also so unique that your factional enemies might leave it alone, simply because theyre so impressed with it.
Emphasis on the word might. Apart from that, its the perfect shape to be defended.
