In the first row, there should be 3 wood planks. In the second row, there should be 1 cobblestone in the first box, 1 iron ingot in the second box, and 1 cobblestone in the third box. In the third row, there should be 1 cobblestone in the first box, 1 redstone in the second box, and 1 cobblestone in the third box. This is the Minecraft crafting recipe for a piston.

Now that you have filled the crafting area with the correct pattern, the piston will appear in the box to the right.

One of the best-known ways to make a secret door in Minecraft is using Sticky Pistons and Pressure Plates. Heres how to do that:

  • Make a pillar from two Sticky Piston blocks placed on top of each other.
  • Make the construction four blocks away from the first one.
  • Make two Stone pillars, each from two Stone blocks placed on top of each other. You should now have a two-block distance between two identical constructions.
  • Add Redstone Torches at the bottom of each Sticky Piston pillar. They should be located on the outside of your doorway.
  • Place a Stone block right above each of the Redstone Torches.
  • About two blocks deep, make a two-by-three block large hole under the Stone block construction. Cover the hole with Redstone.
  • Cover the surface of the hole with Grass blocks to hide it.
  • Place Pressure Plates near the Stone block structure. When you stand on the Pressure Plates, the Stone block construction will expand, working as a door.
  • Be creative with hiding your construction. For instance, you can build walls from Stone around your improvised door, but dont cover the Pressure Plates.

    Sweet And Simple Minecraft 1×2

    Minecraft

The most basic piston door design is a 1×2 design This design works by using sticky pistons, two-door blocks, some Redstone, and a pressure plate or lever to open and close the door.

The way this piston door works is the sticky pistons are attached to the two blocks acting as a door. When the sticky pistons are extended, the door is closed, and when they contract, the door opens. All players have to do is connect the sticky pistons to the opening switch using Redstone.

How Do I Reverse The Activation Of Pistons With Redstone Automatically

So basically, I want to make a hidden Piston door using Redstone that opens and shuts when I pull a lever.

As you can see, the door consists out of 14 sticky Pistons in total : 2 for the stairs, 4 in the middle to pull back and push out the stone in/outwards, and 4 on each side to pull back and push out the pistons with the stone. I’m going to call them S, M, L and R. I have ways and means to power each of those groups individually and with repeaters I can change when they activate.

For opening and closing the door, I’m using levers on both sides of the door combined with and XOR gate underground, so that the door will close/open no matter what lever I use or in what state the other lever is.

The basic order here is: When the door opens, M pulls the stone blocks back, after that L and R pull these pistons with the stone in the wall. When it closes, the order is reversed: L and R push M out, M then pushes the stone blocks. S here doesnt matter, since it doesn’t interfere with the others.

The problem here is : How do I REVERSE the order of activation for the components L, R and M for when it closes and shuts? So Opening : M, L+R | Closing : L+R, MOr: Do you know a different way to make this work?

Because of the way the door works, simply executing the same order will break the door :M won’t retract at the right time and will simply stay in the ‘closed’ position and will retract and extend, but not be moved by L and R.

Sorry for the length of this and thanks in advance.

S To Make A Piston Door

This door is pretty simple, so let’s get right into building it.

  • Place the block of your choice in a 3×2 platform.
  • From the middle block of each side, place 2 additional blocks going outwards.
  • On the farthest block, place another, creating a staircase effect.
  • Place one additional block until the build is a total of 3 blocks tall. Check the image above for block placement.
  • On the top two blocks, place a redstone torch.
  • Cover every other block with redstone dust.
  • This is the foundation of redstone wiring for your piston door. As mentioned earlier, this is for a 3×2 door. You can create a wider door with additional redstone and sticky pistons, but this may require a different layout. For now, just stick with this 3×2 version.

  • Directly above the 3×2 platform of redstone, place another 3×2 platform. You can use temporary blocks to place this, like shown above with polished diorite. After the platform is built, you can get rid of the temporary blocks.
  • On each side of the top platform, place 2 pressure plates. This is how you will open the door. The space between the plates is where the door will close.
  • From the center of the platform between the pressure plates, look directly at one of the redstone torches. Here, you will place a sticky piston. Place 2 additional sticky pistons and repeat on the other side.
  • In the middle piston, attach a block to the backside and add redstone dust to the top. This will ensure that all of the pistons work when you step on the pressure plates.
  • How To Make An Automatic Door In Minecraft

Minecraft engineers moving towards automation may have plans for automated doors at their home base or desired structure.

Depending on how complex they want to make things, Minecraft players can craft something as simple as an iron door with an accompanying pressure plate or even incorporate things such as pistons or other redstone-based machinery.

It’s essentially all up to the players and how much effort they want to put into the project. With some iron doors, some redstone, or even some sticky pistons, Minecraft players can make many different types of automated doors.

Minecraft: How To Make An Automated Sticky Piston Door

One of the more common and effective Minecraft automatic door styles is the sticky piston door, controlled via redstone currents to expand and contract as the players make their way through.

To create a sticky piston door, Minecraft players should perform the following steps:

  • Dig a 2x2x3 hole. The hole should be two-blocks deep, two-blocks long, and three-blocks wide.
  • When facing one of the three-block wide sides of the hole, dig a two-block long and two-block tall arm/channel from the center blocks of the hole. Then remove the block in front of you. Do this for both long sides of the hole.
  • In the center of the hole, create a 2×3 grid of redstone dust.
  • At the end of each arm or channel, place a redstone torch.
  • Line the arms/channels with redstone and connect them to the central grid.
  • Place a building block over each redstone torch.
  • Cover the hole itself and its channels with standard building blocks. The hole itself should be flush with the ground level and the only blocks at above ground level should be the ones placed over the redstone torches.
  • Place a sticky piston in front of the blocks placed over the redstone torches. Make sure that the piston is facing inward, or in the direction of the center of the structure.
  • On top of the sticky piston already placed, place an additional one on top. Ensure that this is done for both sides of the structure.
