How Do You Apply Potion Effects To Players
I’m developing a minigame server. I just need to know what commands to use, via command block, to give players special effects infinitely such as: speed boost, regeneration, or jump boost. I know it’s possible, I’ve played on games that use these things, or is it a mod?
Note: this doesn’t work on bedrock
- ProdiasMar 16 ’14 at 20:11
- @Prodias if you want to give a player an effect infinitely, just set the effect duration to a number over 372000. DatEpicCoderGuyWhoProgramsMay 3 ’14 at 20:18
- @DatEpicCoderGuyWhoPrograms The display in the inventory will show **:** if the duration could not be parsed as a signed Short . It is not infinite and cannot be infinite on its own. A clock must be used to constantly re-apply the effect. SkylinerwJan 23 ’16 at 22:03

The enchantments on these items are higher than the gamereally “allows” but mostly work correctly. The Fortune and Lootingenchantments are set to 100 because 255 produces a huge amount ofitems.
Take note that the game doesn’t know how to display these levels.Unbreaking CCLV, for example, shows as Unbreaking enchantment.level.255.

About Flying Feature In Minecraft
The map in Minecraft is very large. Therefore, you will need a helpful means of transportation that help you move fast to build your world. Besides, you also need to move quickly through massive lands and explore this huge world.
Therefore, the creative and spectator modes of Minecraft offer a fantastic flying mode. It lets you travel faster, cross rivers, mountains, forests, villages, etc. more quickly. In addition, flying in the creative mode allows players to build high constructions.
For example, many excellent architects in Minecraft can fly to complete high-rise constructions in their cities or put the ornaments to the top of very high sky-scrapers. If you build a giant tower but cannot climb to complete the top decoration, you can fly to do it.
Besides, Minecraft players can also fly to find the wanted objective easier. When you are at a high altitude in the sky, you will have a larger view of the ground and everything beneath. For example, players often fly to find biomes, fortresses, caves, and wild animals, etc. easier.
How To Use Minecraft Commands
Firstly, as with most mods, these cheats are only available on PC, so console players will have to grind the old-fashioned way. Secondly, these can only be used on worlds where cheats are enabled youll be asked this when you create a world, or opening a single-player game to LAN and selecting Allow Cheats.
With your cheat-enabled world ready and loaded, all you need to do is enter some commands now with the first step to press the C key to bring up the command bar.
The command bar is where youll enter the commands, and each one must be prefixed by a forward slash . Youll also have to choose targets to be the recipients of your cheats but rather than type out full names, you can use this shorthand target selector shortcuts:
Thats the basics now you just need to enter your desired cheat through with the following console commands.

Without these permissions, commands entered into the chat console won’t be executed.
The base command syntax for this particular Efficiency pickaxe is:
Minecraft players can even add additional enchantments if they like by separating the enchantment tags with a comma, for example:
This will create an even more powerful pickaxe by stacking multiple enchantments atop each other, effectively making the tool into a non-stop mining and resource-gathering machine that takes a virtual eternity to break.
At the moment, commands for this complexity are only available via entering them on Minecraft: Java Edition, but Mojang may update Minecraft’s Bedrock and Pocket Editions in the future to accommodate the same commands.
With a pickaxe this formidable, mining turns from a chore into a simple and quick task.
How To Fly In Minecraft Creative And Spectator Modes
In the Creative mode and Spectator mode, you only need to double-click the Jump Button to fly in Minecraft. To increase the altitude, players need to tap the jump button. Then, you can float in the air and look down to the ground. It’s pretty easier to start to fly and drive your character in these two modes than in survival mode.
If you want to build high constructions, you adjust the direction to approach it and interact with the object while flying in the air. In addition, the flying speed in Minecraft creative and survival mode is 10.92 meters/second . It’s higher than the normal moving speed by around 2.5 times.

How To Add Attack Speed Using Commands
In version 1.9, the combat section of the update added a cooldown timer. My problem lies with the fact that some Minecraft maps have no cooldown, and replace it with attack speed .So what command adds attack speed to tools?
- One way to accomplish this is to have command blocks that detect if a player is holding a certain item, and if so, give them haste. One thing I’m not sure about without looking is if haste also increases attack speed of weapons.
One way is to use item attributes. I’ve seen this approach on a few maps.
Using the command
You can give yourself a diamond sword with the maximum attack speed on it. This eliminates the cooldown of attacks.

Add Effect Using Effect Id
In the first example, we added an effect to a player using an effect Name . Now let’s show you how to add an effect using the Effect ID.
For example, you could add the Jump Boost effect to the player called DigMinecraft with the following command:
/effect DigMinecraft 8 50 1
This /effect command uses an ID value of 8, a duration of 50 seconds, and an amplifier of 1. This will give the player called DigMinecraft the effect of Jump Boost II for 50 seconds.
The amplifier is used to increase the level of the effect. These are the effect/amplifier combinations for the Jump Boost effect.
Effect ID | |
---|---|
3 | Jump Boost IV |
Once the cheat has been entered, you will see the message “Given Jump Boost x 1 to DigMinecraft for 50 seconds” appear in the lower left corner of the game window.
The player called DigMinecraft has been given Jump Boost II for 50 seconds.
See a , if you need an Effect ID or Name value.

Swiftness Potion Item Id
When Minecraft updated to version 1.13, a changed dubbed “The Flattening” was introduced. In “The Flattening”, numerical IDs and item data was removed, and some item IDs were changed to make them more logical – Swiftness Potion was one of the many items that had their IDs changed.
For this reason, if you’re playing on a Minecraft version below 1.13 , you should use what we’ve named a legacy ID for this item. The legacy ID for swiftness potion is:
Swiftness Potion has a data value of 8258. You will need to add this to commands, along with its legacy item ID , to spawn it.

Flying Command In Minecraft
There is no direct command in Minecraft that will make you fly. You can change the mode of the game using the “/gamemode creative” command, and this will allow you to press jump twice and will get you up in the air! If you want to fly even faster , you can go into Spectator mode. This requires you to press “F3 + N” at once, and gives you the ability to fly around freely and go through walls. You can scroll your mouse-wheel up or down to increase or decrease the speed. This is the fastest way to get around other than using the teleport command!
Tips To Fly Faster In Creative And Spectator Mode
To increase the flying speed in Minecraft, you hold the sprinting button. To stop flying and landing, players need to tap the sneak button to decrease the altitude and approach the ground. When you reach the ground, you will stop flying automatically.
In the Spectator mode, you can disable this feature by double click the jump button again. Moreover, players won’t get any damage or break their legs when falling from the air in these two modes. You can either fall instantly or decrease the height gradually by using the crouch button.
