Our theme for the month of November is the periodic table.
Minecraft, the best-selling video game of all time, has two main mechanics: mining and crafting. Players mine resources which can then be crafted into practical items like tools, weapons, and building materials.
While the 16-by-16-pixel base blocks may initially give an impression of low-quality graphics and a loose grasp on reality, several aspects of Minecraft mimic the real world. Most of the land surface, divided by bodies of water, is made up of grass over a few layers of dirt. Beneath the lush forests and open oceans, a thick crust of rockprimarily the fuliginous stone around veins of granite, andesite, diorite, and gravelplunges deep into the earth.
Most ores are nestled in this crust. The most ubiquitous, coal, is an early-game essential, used to craft torches and fuel furnaces. Deep in the belly of the earth hide precious gems: emeralds, useful for trading lapis lazuli, which grants powers of enchantment and diamonds, the games primary indicator of strong armor, durable tools, powerful weapons, and general wealth.
Two other ores, gold and iron, can be found anywhere in the crust below sea level. Unlike the jewels, these metals are not immediately useful. They must be smelted in a furnace to release the ingot from its stone shell, a process which requires time and fuel.
What Is A Minecraft Iron Golem
An Iron Golem is a neutral mob, but its one that serves a very good purpose. The primary function of these incredible things is to protect villagers, but theyll also help protect you in most circumstances. Thats not all either, despite being able to punch the life out of most things, theyre also incredibly kind-hearted, and can often be spotted offering villagers poppies that they can magically create in their hands.
Aside from that, they tend to spend a lot of their time wandering around the villages they protect, or standing guard nearby. They also dont take any fall damage, they cant drown , and will seek out most hostile Minecraft mobs within sixteen blocks of themselves. A word of warning though, if you upset the village theyre in, then they can turn on you permanently. If you reach -15 or less popularity, then youll make these imposing creatures your enemy. Thats right: no poppies for you.

The Spawning Pads And Drop Shafts
At the same height as the lower slab above the zombie position build the spawning pads.These should be upper slabs but sufficently lighted that no mobs will spawn.The shape works for me, for details see Techmans video linked at the start of the post.
The drop shafts are 3×3 and the center is below the trapdoor that stops the Iron Golemfrom reaching the zombie. The floor of the drop shaft is at least 20 blocks below the villagerpositions. I recommend using look-at coordinates.
At the bottom, connect the 2 drop shafts and put water down on one end and a lava bladeat the other end. 3 Hoppers below the lava blade lead into your storage system,for starters just put a chest there.

Advanced Concepts For Iron Farming
Iron Golems cannot spawn on minecart tracks, so if you need to create elevated areas near the farm, place tracks to avoid Iron Golem escapes.
In addition to iron ingots, Iron Golems drop poppies. This means you might want to add an item sorter to the system to prevent you from becoming overwhelmed with poppies.

Sure, theres a lot of responsibility that goes with that, but the important thing is that you can create life out of a few blocks of metal and a root vegetable.
The good news is that you shouldnt let this rest on your conscience too much. Minecraft Iron Golems are beastly creatures who are incredibly strong, surprisingly kind, and even good for the environment. How Does It Benefit The Player
Iron farms will yield around 30-40 iron per hour for players to collect. Iron farms work by using methods to scare villagers. When villagers get frightened, they will spawn an iron golem.

Minecraft: The 5×5 Iron Farm Method
Minecraft version 1.17 has brought plenty of new materials and blocks, but what is needed for this project isn’t anything flashy. To make their iron farm, Minecraft players will need a list of the following resources:
- 36 Stone or any solid structural block.
- Wool to be used as a temporary block. This can be swapped with most other blocks in Minecraft as long as it is easily broken.
- One dirt block.
- One lever.
- Four block stacks of Oak leaves, otherwise Minecraft players can use tilled land or carpet to make a block non-spawnable.
- One Shroomlight or Glowstone block, players may substitute with any light-producing block in a pinch.
- Three beds.
- Proximity to Minecraft villagers.
- A zombie or two.
Although this farm can be made on a 5×5 footprint, Minecraft players will need a 21×21 grid to make it un-spawnable. Once they have their grid ready, they can assemble the farm as follows:
Build An Iron Farm In Minecraft Bedrock
To build an efficient iron farm, it is recommended that you choose a location that is at least 150 blocks from a village to maximize the golems spawn rate.
The following items are required to build a basic iron farm in the Bedrock Edition:
- 20 beds
- 3 stacks of any blocks to build
- 35 glass blocks
- 2 stacks of any panels
- 1 lava bucket

Building The Basic Structure
The first thing you need to do is site your new build. The grinder only works when its present in a loaded chunk. So building this near your main base where you spend a lot of time is a good idea. There are also a few general tips to keep in mind when doing this.
- Build it at least 20 blocks above the ground, if you dont, Golems can spawn outside of the intended spot on top.
- Build it on a chunk that isnt close to another village. Having villagers nearby can mess with Golem spawning.
Once you have chosen your site location, its time to get building. The first thing you should build will be cells to hold your zombie. Make the cell three blocks high and enclose it in glass. In the first cell, place a block of water on the bottom block so that the zombie isnt destroyed in the sun. now, using your building material, build a three-block-long offshoot on three sides of that cell. Now, place a bed on each of the three offshoots.
You should be left with something like this:
Basic Structure
Once you have the beds placed and the cell ready, its time to build the structure itself. Now you just need to enclose all of that in your fire-proof material. The three rooms for your villager should also be three blocks high. Now you need to build the actual spawning platform above all of this.
What Is Needed To Create Iron Farms In Minecraft
Creating iron farms in Minecraft can be simple, but first, players will need some resources before they can get started. This may seem like a lot of items, but it’ll be worth it in the end.
Players will also need to make sure that there are villagers and a zombie close by. These items should be enough for a player to build a 5×5 iron farm.

Building The Iron Farm
To create an Iron Golem farm, you first need a zombie, a helmet, a boat, and a name tag. First things first, throw the helmet to the Zombie until it picks it up and equips the item.
Next, you’ll want to lure the Zombie to the boat to trap it and transport it to where you plan to build your iron farm. At this point, put the name tag on the Zombie and add a name. The helmet will prevent your Zombie from dying in sunlight, and the name tag will stop it from despawning.
You will next need to trap the Zombie on a platform eight blocks high. I used a minecart to push the Zombie into place before trapping him with blocks. The entire farm should be built this high, as it prevents Iron Golems from spawning below the farm.
The next step is gathering Villagers. For my example build, I gathered four. I trapped them similar to the Zombie, using boats and then minecarts to transport them. They are placed within eight blocks of the trapped Zombie. This allows them to ‘see’ the Zombie and start the spawning of Iron Golems.

I have made 6 iron farms, all of which connecting to one killing platform. It’s quite slow, I get about 2 1/2 stacks from 40 minutes. With this design I should be getting 64 iron per each hour of the 6 farms. So 6 stacks an hour, I have a chunk loader active but that doesn’t seem to do too much. How would I get the 6 stacks an hour like I should be?

I don’t know why you say quite slow, that’s 2/3 of what you’re expecting, that doesn’t sound too bad.
Have you got them all far enough apart from each other and the killing platform so they don’t interfere?
Are they all generating golems at the same rate?
Otherwise you need to look at what’s wrong with the ones that don’t.
Check that they aren’t getting stuck, you might need a 3X3 hole to flush them through.
Also check that none of the drops are getting burnt up by the lava.

They’re all 70 blocks apart, the lava in the platform has hoppers soon as they dropped they get sucked up and the lava is up 3 blocks. I haven’t noticed any getting stuck, there’s not enough to spawn to get stuck.

I’m getting 98 iron an hour, and I should be getting 384 iron an hour. Please help! If you could I need a plugin that I can change the spawn rate of iron golems.

Just pointing out that you need to lower the bottom layer, not raise the top.
Finishing The Iron Farm
If you didnt replace the lower section of fences on the lower platform with wall blocks, do that now. You should be left with fences along the back, opposite the golem chamber, and the gate above said chamber. The other edge opposite the upper platform should be wall blocks.
Remember that other spot you could get stuck on that I mentioned? Its right where the golem chamber wall blocks meet the upper platform fence. Remove the wall block directly beneath the last fence on the upper platform. This will prevent Golems from getting stuck in the gap.
Remove the wall block beneath this fence block
There, now your iron farm in Minecraft is complete. Start spawning Golems and farm that iron.
