Creating Your First World
Now that weve highlighted the benefit of the profile system, its time to create our first world and play!
Lets start off simple by focusing on the Singleplayer experience. In later lessons well learn about Multiplayer and Minecraft Realms. Click on Singleplayer to get started.
Here youll find your local worlds linked to your profile; because its a brand new installation there are no worlds yet.
The default game mode is Survival. Click the Game Mode button in the center of the screen to swap it to Creative. Well return to game modes in the next lesson but for now, creative play is the best way to learn the controls and figure out how to move around the Minecraft world.
As for naming your world, were fond of naming the worlds we use for experimenting and learning Learning Lab or some iteration thereof.
Leave More World Options alone, well return to the fun toggles and adjustments available there in a later lesson focused on custom worlds and their creation. Once youve named your world and switched it to Creative, click Create New World, and sit back as Minecraft flexes some of that procedural generation magic in order to create you a unique world to explore.
Clear Plants And Snow With Water
A water Bucket is very useful for rapidly clearing snow, grain, mushrooms and some other items. Rather than clicking one by one on every block, pour a bucket of water over the area, and the water can clear over a hundred blocks in one operation and can be collected then reused. Beware, though: water also washes away redstone circuits.

The 15 Best Online Board Games On Pc
It’s 2021, so we’re probably past the point that we need to tell you tabletop games – known to many as board games – have had a renaissance in recent years. Getting around a table, throwin’ them dice, eatin’ them maize-based snacks… what a way to spend an evening! But equally undeniable is the fact that it’s been hard to, you know, gather in groups in recent history. Luckily, the board game revolution has reached video games, and you can get some cracking digital PC versions of your physical favourites.
There are many other advantages to digital board games. First of all, you don’t have to unpack a bunch of tokens and cards from a box, only to find that they do not fit back in the same box two hours later. Another big benefit is that a digital game takes up a lot less space, and generally costs a lot less. Why drop £100 on 15kg of plastic miniatures and enough cardboard to crush a Honda Civic, when you can add a dozen new games to your Steam library for less than the same price? If you like them enough to play with friends around the table, the option to go out and pick up a physical copy is still there, after all.
Main Hand And Off Hand
Your Main Hand is the one contolled by the Left Mouse Button – this will usually be your right hand, but if you prefer to be left-handed you can change this in the Options screen. You can place an item in your Main Hand using keys 19 to select it from the toolbar.
Your Off Hand is your other hand. You can put an item in your Off Hand using the Shield Slot in the Inventory screen, or you can press F to swap items between your main hand.
- Open the inventory if you want to click outside the Minecraft window without pausing the game.
- It’s a good idea to change the “Drop” button to something further away from the movement keys: it reduces the risk of accidentally throwing your stuff into lava.

Shear Through The Undergrowth
- Just as in real life someone moving through jungle terrain might carry a machete, in Minecraft you should make copious use of shears to clear a path. This is probably 35 times faster than trying to go around all the obstacles you will otherwise face. Note that you will use up shear durability very quickly, so carry a good supply of iron ingots to make replacements. The same tip helps to a smaller degree in woodland too. Remember you don’t need a crafting table to craft new shears – as the recipe is 2×2 sized, you can craft them in the crafting grid of your inventory. As a bonus, all the foliage you collect can be composted.
- Warning: This trick makes it much easier for mobs to find a path to you as well, and provides extra spawn points for them to appear. Keep moving, and if you do pause for a moment, stop in a safe place, and block off the path behind you so that nothing can sneak up while you’ve stopped. A pet cat and a pet wolf are both helpful companions here.
Is There A Shortcut To Move Items Between Your Inventory And The Crafting Table
Is there a quick way to move items from your inventory onto the crafting table, just as you can move items between the inventory and an open chest with Shift
- Crafting tends to also require specific layouts. How would a system like this know where to put the items without giving away the layout?Aug 22 ’13 at 20:10
- 1This could be quite useful for crafting blocks, such as redstone blocks, coal blocks, and hay bales.Aug 22 ’13 at 20:22

- you can click drag , or use NEI’s shift clicking the “?” squareAug 22 ’13 at 21:59
Items can be moved rapidly from your hotbar to the crafting table quickly by pressing the corresponding number while hovering your cursor over the desired destination slot in the crafting grid.
This is most useful when crafting a lot of something that takes only one ingredient.
How Can I Quickly Grab Items From A Chest To My Inventory
I play a lot of pvp games on Minecraft Bedrock. I play on a Mouse and Keyboard and I don’t know what key to press to quickly grab and equip things from a chest.
Not only can you shift+click one stack of items, but you can shift and double-click to obtain all the stacks of that same item.
Edit: I didn’t realize you also asked to equip things. If you have any armor in your chest, you can shift+click to get it into your inventory, then right click and you will equip the armor if you are currently not wearing any.
- 1I guess that’s a bedrock only feature, in java edition when I try to shift + double click, the stack moves on the first click and the second click doesn’t do anything.Jan 8 at 18:28
- 2@KodosJohnson This should really be in the answer, but to move all items of the same type first click on one, then shift and double click on another one with the item still being dragged by your mouse;EphraimRuttenbergJan 8 at 19:44
- The part about right clicking the armor piece is correct but if you are wearing a piece of armor there already it will just swap them for you
Completely unrelated, but I’ll answer anyway.
For these devices:
Just like Java Edition, you can Shift click on the hovered item to get the entire thing, or just like what said, you can also double Shift click to get all of the same items in part of the hovered item.

Flash Point: Fire Rescue
Where can I buy it:SteamWhat else should I be playing:
Flash Point is the hottest board game on the tabletop – literally. Players are firefighters tackling burning blazes together, moving their squad of extinguishing experts through different buildings to put out flames and rescue survivors trapped inside. Like in co-op board game classic Pandemic , the players’ characters have different unique abilities to help them triumph. It’s how you use your team’s talents – from smashing through walls to reviving unconscious survivors – and coordinate your plan that’ll decide how you fare, though don’t expect it to be easy.

There are two versions of Minecraft that run on the Xbox – Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition and Minecraft Xbox One Edition. For both versions, you would use an Xbox controller to navigate through the game.
Here are the game controls to play Minecraft on Xbox 360 or Xbox One:

|Change Selected Item in Hotbar||LB or RB|
Very Quick Way Of Unloading/loading Everything Into Chests
I accidentally pressed a few buttons earlier, while emptying cobble into new chests, and everything went in straight away. I’ve done this at least twice.
Any clue how?
It’s making me so mad moving everything by the left click method, knowing there’s a way. Aand I’ve just accidentally done it again…
With an inventory with multiple stacks of an item,
Left click one stack so it “hovers” with your mouse
Hold left shift
Move your mouse cursor over another stack of the material
Double left click
Not sure if this is what you’re looking for.
I’ve found nothing on Google, which is why I was asking here. Sorry
If you are using InventoryTweaks mod, Space+Click will move everything it can from one inventory to the other.
EDIT: Aha, found this on the Wiki
To move all items of one kind into a chest from your inventory , pick up any item, hold Shift, and double click one of the items of the items you want to move.

Magic: The Gathering Arena
Where can I buy it:Directly from WizardsWhat else should I be playing:
Magic: The Gathering is the biggest trading card game in the world. It’s been around for decades and taken a few stabs at crossing over to the digital world in that time, but it was only with 2019’s Magic: The Gathering Arena that it felt like it really hit its stride on PC. Arena is the same MTG you know from the tabletop, but translated into a fast-flowing, visually impressive app that sees it step up to the likes of digital-only card games such as Hearthstone. Arena also lets you unlock some of the physical cards you buy in the game for free, so you don’t need to buy everything twice to keep your collection across paper and pixels. With plenty of popular Magic: The Gathering formats from the original collectable card game, as well as some new formats exclusive to the digital version, and the chance to play upcoming sets a little ahead of their release, Arena proves MTG isn’t going anywhere but up for a while.

Exploiting The Crafting Grid
- Some crafting recipes can be made more efficiently depending on how you place the items in the grid. This may only save a second or two when making the item, but for frequently-made objects this can still add up. For example, making a gate requires one log block. The most efficient way to make it is as follows:
- Another example for time-saving in crafting is found at the very beginning of the game: Making a crafting table and sticks for tools.
