Minecraft Mobs List Every Mob And Monster In Minecraft

All the hostile and tameable mobs in Minecraft from salmon to skeletons, as well as all of the new mobs coming in The Wild update

Minecraft mobs are the living entities in Minecraft short for mobile, these sometimes adorable, sometimes you can find aggressive creatures roaming the many biomes of the blocky universe. They will interact and respond to you, other players, and other mobs, whether thats a creeper knocking at your door, or a pig in the pen in your back garden.

Minecraft mobs are susceptible to the same physics and environmental changes that affect players, such as catching fire or drowning. They can be attacked and killed with weapons, and when killed drop resources and experience points, with hostile mobs dropping rarer items on occasion.

In Creative mode, Minecraft mobs will never attack you, but can be divided into three behavioural categories in Survival and Hardcore modes, which include passive, neutral, and hostile. Utility mobs iron golem and snow golem, can be crafted to assist you against hostile mobs. Trusting mobs cant be tamed, but have a special behaviour when interacted with and include dolphins, ocelot and even the adorable Minecraft fox. Heres a list of all the mobs and monsters that can be found wandering the vast Minecraft landscape.

  • If going for a melee option, try to sneak up on them, coming at them from the site or above so you can hit them
  • Another option is to trick the skeleton into shooting another hostile mob, that mob will then attack the skeleton and they will fight each other
  • Lure them underwater and attack them from below, they won’t/can’t sink down to attack you

Spiders And Cave Spiders

How to Make Mobs Fight Each other in Minecraft Part 2 ...

Facts about Spiders

  • Are a neutral mob when in higher light levels and are hostile when in a lower light level so if you run into them at night, they will attack you if you attack a neutral spider in daylight, it will defend itself and attack back
  • They look the same except the Cave Spider is blue and smaller than a normal spider
  • They do not burn up in sunlight
  • Cave Spiders are poisonous: the poison cannot kill you itself, it will only bring you down to 1 heart at most
  • They can climb up blocks vertically
  • While Spiders spawn naturally in the game, Cave Spiders only come from Monster Spawners from Mine Shafts
  • They can both drop String and Spider Eyes when killed
  • A Spider can form with a Skeleton on its back making a Spider Jockey
  • Can jump 2 or 3 blocks making them able to jump over fences which are 1.5 blocks tall
  • Cave Spiders are small than normal Spiders and are less than a block in width, length and height

Fighting Spiders

  • Like many of the monsters, it is easiest to attack them from a distance
  • For just normal Spiders: Fighting them face to face can be difficult since they jump around a lot, but because they are 2 blocks wide by 2 blocks long, you can dig a trench that is only 1 block wide and attack them from below and they won’t be able to go down into the trench

Flint And Steel / Fire Charge

  • Style: Contact, lasting
  • Range: Damage on contact
  • Damage: 12 heart per second, while lit

Flint and steel is a unique weapon, as players can set a block of fire, and while it burns, any mob that comes into contact with it will catch fire, suffering burn damage over time. This can be very useful when being chased by multiple mobs, as it will weaken all or most of them down to the point where a sword hit or two will be enough to kill them. However, there are several downsides to this method. First of all, mobs may elude the fire by pure luck, requiring another light. Second of all, if the player are in a confined space, circling to avoid mobs, they could potentially set the player on fire by accident. Third, burning mobs can also set themselves on fire when through melee attacks. Lastly, it can take a long time for the mob to die, enough time for more mobs to join the party. A fast player could make a short 1-block netherrack wall and light the top. Mobs would have to jump and they would take damage instantly or over time. Particularly effective with a sword with the Knockback enchantment.

Fighting Monsters In Minecraft

In order to fight your enemy you must know your enemy! You could just choose to avoid all of the hostile mobs in Minecraft, but you can get things from that that are either hard or impossible to get elsewhere. So, before you venture out at night or into the dark depths of the caves, read up on your enemy and be ready to fight!

Other Player’s Tamed Wolves

When players are attacked by another player’s wolves, just use same strategy to defeat wild wolves. A tamed wolf has 20 health and 4 attack damage, so they are a bit harder to kill because of their increased stats and that players can tame multiple wolves. If you are surrounded, run away and try to get as many blocks in-between you and them as possible.

Minecraft How To Make Mobs Attack Each Other In Minecraft

Make mobs fight each other in Minecraft with commands

minecraft-commandsminecraft-java-edition

Is there a relatively easy way to make mobs attack other mobs, for example zombies attack other zombies? I have tested summonning a snowball as another mob over a zombie, so the zombie thinks it was the other zombie that hurt him, but it didn’t work at all, or I did something wrong. I’m playing in 1.16 . I tested this command:

I also tested these commands, but they didn’t work

Though this is not universal to all mobs, you could name a vindicator “Johnny”, and it would attack all mobs in its vicinity, except for other illagers.

Alternatively, you could try spawning a skeleton and a different mob, and going into Survival mode, running between the two mobs. The skeleton would try and shoot you, but you dodge it, causing the fired arrow to hit the other mob. This would cause a mob fight to be staged.

I hope these methods work well.
