How Do Observers Work In Minecraft
An observer is placed similarly to a piston. It observes the block that it is placed against. The texture of the detecting side is that of an observing face. As observers can detect the state of other observers, placing two adjacent observers, each watching the other, can make a fast and compact redstone clock.

Place a slab on top of the hopper. This slab is what the chickens will be dying on, and because it is only a half-block, items that sit on top of it can be collected through the block.
Place two glass blocks on top of the chest, the dispenser behind the slab, facing into it, then a hopper on top of that dispenser. Don’t bother placing the glass to the sides of the slab just yet.
The hopper is where the chickens will be standing, so box it in with some glass so they aren’t able to run away. Place some more glass around where the lava will be , then place lava by right-clicking on the top of the slab with the bucket.

An observer has two main sides you will focus on. The first side that looks like a face detects any changes in a block to emit a redstone signal. The second side with the red square is the side that emits the redstone signal. This means that when a block changes and the observer detects it, any redstone dust or blocks like redstone lamps will activate on the opposite side of the block.
The changes that the observer will react to differ in Java and Bedrock Edition. For example, exclusively in Minecraft Java Edition, an observer will detect the opening and closing of shulker boxes, changes in fire or any note blocks played. Bedrock Edition does not include these but has several exclusive features that Java Edition does not have. Some of these involve activating a dragon head or beacon in front of an observer, using bone meal to grow sugar cane, and cooking food on a campfire. Some changes that are available in both versions of Minecraft include but are not limited to the following:
- Activating a dispenser or dropper
- Changes in Redstone ore
- Using potions on a brewing stand
- Interacting with a flower pot
- Changing the shape of partial blocks such as fences, iron bars, glass panes, stone walls and redstone
- Opening and closing doors
Minecraft is available on PC, Android, iOS, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation platforms.
S For The Perfect Pork Chop
There are a lot of ways to cook pork chops, and unfortunately I cant cover them in all here. However, I can show one of my absolute favorites, and the one that I think every home cook needs to know Pan Roasting. A pan roasted pork chop has a great sear on the outside which creates little caramelized bit and pieces that have a ton of flavor. At the same time, the center of the pork chop is just cooked through, and remains both tender and juicy. And, with a pan roasted pork chop, you get the side benefit of pan drippings with which you can make a killer sauce. Check out my 10 steps below and on the video, and hope you next pork chop turns out absolutely perfect.

How The Automatic Chicken Farm Works
Whenever an egg is fired, there is a random chance that baby chickens will spawn on the slab. Because there is nowhere for them to run, they will stand perfectly still in the center of the slab. Twenty minutes later, they will grow into an adult and get cooked by the lava above them. To finish the build, place the two glass blocks to the sides of the slab to prevent baby chickens from running away.
Because the chickens are dying by fire, they will drop already-cooked chicken for you. This automatic cooked chicken farm will average one cooked chicken per hour, per chicken. If you have 20 chickens laying eggs up top, you will average 20 cooked chicken per hour, for example.
This incredibly cheap automatic chicken farm is one of the most useful you can make, as it completely kills the need to worry about farming for food an absolute essential for any survival world.

What Are The Uses Of Observers
Observers can be used in various things in the game- You can use them in different kinds of automatic farms.
You can use two observers as a clock in the game. For that, you have to put two of them facing the same direction.
Lets take an example:- You built a farm that stores some items, and you want the item to go one at a time, then you can use observers in Minecraft.
As you can see, the dispenser is throwing cactus one at a time.
You can also use observers for decoration since they have man-looking faces.
You can also use observers to create farms for your crops, such as sugarcane farms using some pistons observers and hopper. As the sugarcane grows, the observer detects it and activates the piston breaking the sugarcane, which goes into the hopper.
Observers can also be used for making traps. For example, if somebody tries to break your bed, you can blast them with TNT, or if someone tries to break into your house.
You can also use an observer to make elevators and flying machines in Minecraft and to make one follow the steps:
: Build 3 blocks high cobblestone pillar and place your observer.
: Place a sticky piston in the observers backside.
|: Place two slime blocks at the side and in the front of the piston.
: Place an observer facing forward and a sticky piston facing backward, side by side to the slime blocks.
Once you break the pillar, the flying machine will work.
