When Will Lush Caves Be In Minecraft
Lush caves should be available as a regular biome in normal;Minecraft;seeds in the 1.18 update, which will be Caves and Cliffs Part 2. This update is not expected until Q4 of 2021. Until then, players will have to create new seeds with single biomes in order to experience everything that Lush Caves have to offer.

Eventually though, these caves and the underground areas just became samey. Theres only so much time you can spend mining for gemstones before the call of the diverse surface biomes tempts you away from the resources below.
In the Minecraft 1.18 update, which is part two of the full Caves & Cliffs update, several new biomes will be introduced to the underground areas and perhaps the most intriguing one revealed so far has been the Lush Caves. Some of the blocks and mobs are already available as of the Minecraft 1.17 update. This rather bright biome is a welcome respite from the relentless monsters and vicious spiders that infest the rest of the underground areas. In addition to being a place to relax, its also home to perhaps the cutest mob introduced to Minecraft in quite some time.

What Is An Azalea Tree In Minecraft
In Minecraft, there are many different types of trees. Oak Trees, Spruce Trees, Birch Trees, Jungle Trees and many more, but the newest type of tree in Minecraft is the Azalea Tree. The Azalea is different from the previous trees in the game in a lot of ways.
One of the major differences between Azalea Trees and the usual tree types is that unlike the usual trunks, the trunk of an Azalea Tree is not made with a unique Azalea wood. It is instead made of Oak Wood, the same way it would appear for an Oak tree. The leaves, however, are unique and come in two variants: Azalea Leaves and Flowering Azalea Leaves. Unless you include Chorus Flowers or the vague texturing on the Jungle Leaves, Azalea are the first flowering trees in Minecraft. They are definitely the first Overworld tree with a unique block to represent such.
Azalea Trees also grow in a unique formation that starts at the trunk, and then grows diagonally upward, rather than around or straight up. Azalea Trees are rare in that they are only located in the Lush Caves biome, and even then, they are well-dispersed and sparce within that space. Azalea Trees serve the purpose of alerting players they are in a Lush Caves biome. This is because from the surface, the Lush Cave biomes looks like any old biome , but deep in the ground, below Y = 0, there is a whole world to explore.
Where Do Azalea Trees Spawn In Minecraft
Azalea Trees are set to be a spawning tree that you can find in Minecraft. This tree will have a heavy set of roots that reach deep underground, indicating the location of lush caves. However, for Minecrafts 1.17 update, the first part of Caves of Cliffs, lush caves have not been added to the game. This location is set to appear in the future, and we can expect it at another time. Because lush caves are not in Minecraft, Azalea Trees cannot naturally spawn in your world, and you cannot find them in the wild.
When Azalea Trees do show up in Minecraft, they should be spawning above a lush cave. If you find an Azalea Tree, theyre essentially a massive red marker indicating where you can find a lush cave, which means you need to dig down to find it. The trees appear on any space above these caves, and theres a chance that an Azalea Tree can spawn inside the cave, given the size of it.
If you want to add an Azalea Tree to your garden before they can naturally spawn in Minecraft, there is a way you can acquire them. You need to find a moss block trading with a wandering trader, or by looting a chest inside of a shipwreck. The wandering trader will give you two moss blocks for a single emerald.
When you have the moss blocks, all you have to do is place it down where you want your Azalea Tree, give it bone meal to spawn azaleas, and flowering azaleas. When you give the azaleas or flowering azaleas another helping of bone meal, those become Azalea Trees.

What Is The Development Timeline For The Caves And Cliffs Update For Minecraft
The Caves and Cliffs Update will conquer the attention of Mojang Studios and Minecraft players for many months, especially now that the update is being split into two parts and released over the course of an entire year. With so many teases, updates, announcements, and tests, it can be easy to lose track of the latest news for Minecraft and the Caves and Cliffs Update. To help ensure you never get left behind, I’ve compiled a complete timeline of the Caves and Cliffs Update up until this point.
Will There Be Xbox Series X
Ever since the debut of the ultra-powerful Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, there has been constant buzz from the Minecraft community about when Minecraft will become Xbox Series X|S Optimized. More specifically, when will Minecraft with ray tracing arrive on Xbox Series X|S?.
The Xbox Series X|S consoles are significantly more powerful than the previous generation of Xbox consoles, and possess the hardware and technology to support Minecraft with ray tracing with DirectX 12 Ultimate, DirectX Ray Tracing, and hardware-acceleration. Despite this, and the fact that Microsoft demoed ray tracing on the Xbox Series X|S with Minecraft, we’ve heard absolutely nothing from Mojang Studios and Microsoft about upgrading Minecraft for the Xbox Series X|S.
I’ve previously written about why this development and the lack of communication from Mojang Studios has led to Minecraft on Xbox Series X|S being an unfortunate disappointment.
There has been speculation that this visual upgrade will arrive with the 1.17 or 1.18 Caves and Cliffs Update, but unfortunately, there hasn’t been any confirmation. Minecraft with ray tracing is still relatively young on Windows 10, and it’s unclear how much work needs to be done to port that technology over to the Xbox Series X|S and have it run and look acceptable. In all honesty, it’s unclear if Mojang Studios has any plans to bring Minecraft with ray tracing to the Xbox Series X|S.

Lush Caves In Minecraft
Lush caves are caves filled with underground growth. These beautiful caves are currently only part of experimental mode, and they can’t be found in normal seeds in;Minecraft;just yet. These jungle-like caves can to be generated in the update 1.17 in the;Java Edition and in some editions of Bedrock. This;temperate underground biome can generate with tall grass, cave vines, azalea trees, blossom spores, and lichen.

What Do Lush Caves Look Like
In the Overworld on the surface, Lush Caves biomes look exactly like Minecraft‘s plains biomes do. The area will be filled with trees, their roots hanging down into the caves below. Inside the caves themselves, moss grows along the ground of these caves, and vines hang from the ceilings. Players can also find lily-pad-like patches of moss growth in the water, clay pools, and large pink sport blossom flowers blooming around the area. There will also be big and small dripleaf plants as well as glow berries that will keep the area lit up. Players can feed bone meal to small dripleaf plants to make them grow into large dripleaf plants if their lush caves are just not quite lush enough.

How To Acquire Azalea In The New Minecraft 117 Caves & Cliffs Update
As stated above, the main purpose of Azalea is to create roots that lead into the Lush Caves biomes. However, these biomes were pushed back to the Minecraft 1.18 update which is supposed to launch later this year.
These biomes are not present naturally in the 1.17 update, neither are Azalea trees. Fortunately, Mojang has provided a way for players to acquire the aesthetically pleasing Azalea blocks.
To acquire Azalea in the Minecraft 1.17 Caves & Cliffs update, players can use bone meal on moss blocks and there is a chance that one or more Azalea will spawn.
Moss blocks can be acquired through the following means:
- Found as loot in Shipwreck chests with a 42.1% chance
- Wandering Traders will trade two moss blocks for one emerald

The Wandering Trader is most likely the easiest method for players attempting to get moss blocks. Players are statistically more likely to acquire Azalea the more moss blocks they have to bone meal.
Other plants, such as grass, tall grass, and moss carpets will also have a chance to spawn on these moss blocks when the bone meal is applied. Thus, players will have to break these blocks before using bone meal again for a higher chance at acquiring Azalea.

Introduced with Minecraft’s lush cave biome in the 1.17 Caves & Cliffs update, Azalea trees are easily distinguished by their pink flowering.
Currently, they are the only plants in Minecraft known to possess a root system that can run deep into the earth and through the lush caves themselves. It’s for this reason that the presence of an Azalea tree usually denotes where a lush cave is underground.
Azalea trees will typically spawn above the lush caves in order to run their roots downward, but they can also be found within the caves themselves if given enough room to grow.

Caves And Cliffs Update Part One
Part One of the Caves and Cliffs Update, which falls under the 1.17 version number umbrella, is the smaller and less ambitious half of the larger Caves and Cliffs Update. Unlike Part Two, which was massively delayed by the Caves and Cliffs Update split, Part One is actually arriving earlier than many players speculated it would. It’s official: the 1.17 Caves and Cliffs Update Part One releases for Minecraft on June 8, 2021, and will bring with it a ton of new features and enhancements for players to look forward to.
This shirks expectations from the update’s earlier release window of “Summer 2021,” which suggested to many a July or August release frame. Instead, Mojang Studios has already finalized the feature set for 1.17 Caves and Cliffs Update and will release it for all platforms simultaneously on June 8, including Minecraft: Bedrock Edition and Minecraft: Java Edition.
As for what kinds of features players can expect in Part One of the Caves and Cliffs Update, the first half is understandably less exciting on the surface. There’s still a lot to look forward to, however, as the 1.17 Caves and Cliffs Update Part One release will add three new mobs to the game and up to 91 new blocks and items, most of which will be discoverable and obtainable in regular Minecraft Survival mode. This includes axolotl, mountain goats, deepslate, new copper ore, crystals, and craftable items like spyglasses and more.
