You have two options to obtain a bell in survival mode. You will need to go to a village in order for both methods work. The first method is by going to a villages main bell. Nearly all villages will have one. They are usually in the centre of the village. The item will not be granted if you simply break it with your fist.

A pickaxe is required to remove a bell from the village. It would be rather cold-hearted to take a villages bell since there is a reason villages have bells in the first place. If a raid occurs and the bell is rung, its the impromptu alarm that gets villagers to flee and hide within their houses until the threat has been utterly destroyed.

The second method without stealing a villages own bell requires you to trade with another villager. Only a villager will sell you bells. A weaponsmith won’t be able sell you a bell right away.

First, you will need to make sure that the weaponsmith villager is leveled up with previous trades before they can reach master level. Trade with them will be necessary to enable them reach this level. This can be done by buying or selling them weapon-related products, as long as you have sufficient emeralds.

Then they will have the best chance to be able to offer a bell at 32 diamonds.

First Build A Few Houses

You will have to build a few houses before starting this process. For the game to consider a building to be an actual house, at least one bed has to be placed inside. Of course, you can make bigger houses and place multiple beds inside. It depends on how many villagers you want in your village.

Since villagers will only breed if there are beds for themselves and for the babies, you need to craft and place extra beds in your village. To craft a bed, all you need is three wood planks and three wool of the same color.

When making a lectern, it is important that the bookshelf and slabs are placed in the exact pattern as the image below. In the first row, there should be 3 wooden slabs. Curing A Zombie Villager

Catching and curing a zombie villager is another way to obtain a villager. Zombie villagers can be found in igloo basements, or in abandoned villages, but occasionally they can be found anywhere in the overworld. It is recommended to build traps to hunt them. They do not spawn in other cases where normal zombies may spawn e.g. from spawners or as a reinforcement spawned by an attacked zombie or zombified piglin.

When found, zombie villagers must be detained and covered with a roof to prevent them from burning in sunlight. They can be cured with a splash potion of Weakness and a golden apple. At this point, they can be carried to their village with minecarts .

Additionally, if you’re in a snowy biome and haven’t found a village, you can start up your own by finding an igloo with a basement. This is a reliable method for creating your own village in a snowy biome. In the basement of the igloo, there is a zombie villager and a cleric . By curing the zombie villager, you’ll have two villagers , which you can transport to the top of the igloo via Minecarts or upward Bubble Column.
