Building Houses In The Village

How to build an Awesome Village in Minecraft 1.15 Survival
  • 1Gather building materials. Village houses can be made out of any material you want. Not all materials require tools to harvest or mine, but tools make the process quicker. Read “How to Make Tools in Minecraft” to learn more about how to craft tools. The following are common materials, and how to gather them:
  • Dirt: Dirt is found all over. To gather dirt, simply attack with your hand until the dirt block breaks apart and drops a small dirt block. Walk over the small dirt block to collect it.
  • Wood planks: To gather wood, walk up to a tree and attack the trunk with your hands until the trunk blocks break apart and drop a small wood block. Walk over the wood block to pick it up. Then open the crafting menu and craft wood plank blocks from the wood blocks.
  • Cobblestone: Cobblestone is a bit sturdier . To mine cobblestone, you first need to craft a pickaxe. Equip the pickaxe from the menu. Use the pickaxe to attack stone blocks inside caves or along the sides of mountains.
  • 2Select a location. Make sure the location you select is within the village. The game calculates the center of the village as the average coordinates of all the doors in the village. The outer parameter of the villages is either 32 blocks from the center or the furthest door from the center, depending on which is greater.XResearch source
  • Build A Bigger Breeding Room

To grow even more villagers faster, there is another method.

    You need to:

    • Build a 12×12 block area surrounded by walls at least two blocks high
    • Make sure that there are
    • Beds all around the room
    • The center is dirt with water to make it fertile
    • That there are workstations so the villagers become farmers or butchers or whatever you want them to become

Then, chuck some of the required food at the ones you’ve lured in, and go away for a while. This process will allow villagers to keep breeding until all of the beds are full.

Eckosoldier has an excellent video on it, which is well worth checking out.

Using Your Seed To Find Villages In Minecraft

In Minecraft, every world is based on a seed, which the game uses to generate the world. If you use one seed to create more than one world, each version of the world will have the same starting state with biomes, ore, and things like villages in the same place. So if you start your world using a seed of a world with a village located at the initial spawn location, you will spawn into a village right off the bat.

If you already have a world, you can also find the location of villages using your seed.

This method works with most versions of Minecraft. Check the Chunkbase Village Finder to make sure your version is listed.

Creating A Village In Minecraft: Everything Players Need To Know

Minecraft villages are some of the most useful areas in the game. Their most important function is arguably the ability for players to trade with villagers, sometimes resulting in amazing gear or valuable resources.

Gamers must be aware that they can create a village if they do not have one nearby. While it can be quite tricky, they can make a functioning village right next to their base if they so choose.

    How Do You Breed Villagers

How Do You Turn A Villager Into Farmer In Minecraft ...

If you’re looking to expand your village, or simply replenish those unfortunately lost to, well, pretty much anything, you’ll need to know how to breed your villagers. In order for villagers to breed and create baby villagers, 3 prerequisites must be met.

    • Beds, beds, beds. A village determines its maximum possible population by the number of valid beds present in the village. A bed is considered valid if it has a door connected to it, and has at least 2 blocks of air directly above it. In other words, it has to be safe and usable.
    • Food, food, food. Villagers can actually pick things up as they go about their day, and you’ll notice that occasionally villagers will actually throw things like food at each other. You can also throw food at villagers, which makes them willing to breed. You’ll know you’ve given them enough when a shower of hearts radiates from them.
    • Another villager. It takes two, you know. You need to have at least two villagers that are both willing to breed and in close proximity to each other.

Once all of these requirements are met, your villagers should spawn a baby villager next to them. The baby villager tends to just run around and jump on the beds, but eventually it’ll grow into an adult villager.

If you don’t have enough villagers to breed them, you have two options. You can either kidnap a villager from another village, or you can cure a zombie villager.

How To Find The Nearest Village

There is a Minecraft console command that will automatically give you the coordinates of the nearest village. This will work in Java Edition, Pocket Edition, Windows 10 Edition, and Education Edition. Open the command window, type in /locate village and the window will return the coordinates of the nearest village. You can then use the teleport chat command, in conjunction with the coordinates, and teleport straight to the villages location.

    Crafting Beds For Villagers

  • 1Gather the materials. In order to craft one bed, you will need three wooden plank blocks, and three blocks of wool. You will also need a crafting table. Use the following steps to obtain the materials you need:
  • Wood planks: To gather wood walk up to a tree and attack the trunk with your hands until the trunk blocks break apart and drops a small wooden log block. Walk over the wood block to pick it up. Then open the crafting menu and craft wood plank blocks from the wood.
  • Wool: Wool can be obtained by either killing sheep, or sheering them with a pair of sheers which can be crafted from two iron bars using a crafting table.
  • 2Craft a crafting table. In order to craft a crafting table, open your crafting menu and place 4 wooden plank blocks in the crafting grid to the right of your character. Then drag the crafting table to your inventory.
  • 3Place the crafting table and open it. To place the crafting table, place it in your hot bar at the bottom of your inventory and equip it. Place it by aiming at the ground where you want the crafting table to go. Then right-click or press the left trigger button to place it.
  • 4Craft a bed. To craft a bed, open the crafting table, and place three wool blocks in the top row of the 3×3 crafting grid. Then place 3 wooden blocks in the middle row below the wool blocks. Drag the bed into your inventory.
  • You can also craft different color beds using dyes.

How To Trade With Minecraft Villagers

Aside from the chests filled with goodies that you can often find inside various buildings, the other reason you might want to find a Minecraft village is so you can trade with the villagers for useful and exotic items. Some items can be extremely powerful, such as Diamond armour that has been enchanted with various powerful benefits.

You can right-click on a villager to initiate a trade with them . Trading uses Emeralds as a currency, so you’ll need to stock up on Emeralds if you want to trade.

What Can You Find In A Village

How to build your FIRST Village in Minecraft 1.15 Survival

There’s a lot to a village beyond just the villagers themselves. Villages normally contain an assortment of houses and buildings, plots of crops, a well, and a central gathering point with a bell for alarms. Paths usually connect much of the village, with lampposts and other decorations adorning the edges.

Out of the houses you could potentially find beds, crafting tables, furnaces, bookshelves, brewing stands, fletching tables, campfires, and much more. Even more enticing are the chests that occasionally spawn inside of houses.

When a village is generated, many of the buildings may have a specific job assigned to them. A house for the librarian, a house for the farmer, a forge for the blacksmith, etcetera. The probabilities for each of these buildings is very complex, and actually changes depending on what biome the village is spawning in.

This causes two things. One, villagers who are assigned to those houses will often take the job associated with them. Two, those special buildings may have unique chests with special loot inside of them. There are far too many to go through every possibility, but basically each job has a chance of spawning a chest with different loot, as well as each biome having their own chest.

Here’s what you can find in chests according to the biome:

How To Build A Minecraft Village From Scratch In 114

What Does The Hero Of The Village Effect Do In Minecraft

The primary result of having the Hero of the Village effect is that Villagers in the town you defended will greatly decrease the cost of trading for items. Depending on the version of Minecraft you are playing, this effect will last either 40 or 60 minutes. The version you are playing can also affect the level of the effect you receive.

How To Find Villages On Foot

Its pretty simple to find villages as long as they can spawn in the biome that youre playing in. You can head out to search for them on foot just like youd be exploring normally, or fly around in Creative Mode to search for villages in a much simpler, more expedient manner.

If you choose to search the game on foot, you should first start with a special seed in-game that will start you out closer to a village at the very beginning. Seeds are simply codes that you can enter before generating a Minecraft world that you have control over. If you use the same seed twice, youll generate the same kind of world twice, so if you find one that you enjoy using, you can stick with it and will always see the same world generated with the same code.

You can find different seeds all over the internet, so find one that youre interested in using, and you can spawn a new world where youre potentially near the villages this way. Make sure you tick the Large Biomes option when you make your new world, which should allow for additional space for villages to appear. While ticking options, also make sure Generate Structures is selected, or otherwise, you just wont see any villages or buildings whatsoever. This is an important part of the process, so double-check your options before generating a world.

    Variants Of Villages In Minecraft

You can also find a village based on its normal location. Villages often spawn in plains, taiga, savanna, desert biomes, and snowy tundra. Moreover, villager’s appearance and the spawn rates also depend on their village variants and biomes.

    • Desert-style villages spawn in the Desert biome.
    • Snow-style villages appear in the Snowy Tundra biome.
    • Taiga-style villages spawn in the Taiga biome.
    • Plain-style villages can be found in Plains, Sunflower plains, and Mountain Meadow.
    • Savanna-style villages are located in the Savanna biome.

Each village will have huts, houses, libraries, wells, farms, shops, churches, blacksmiths, etc. Then, a village often has many villager variants.

    Kidnapping Villagers From Another Village

This process requires the least amount of resources and luck, however, it can be awfully dull and time-consuming. Plus, depending on how distant the nearest village actually is, you might have to go fight off monsters as you take the villager to your base. You might even have to go through the Nether to reduce the distance between your starting location and your destination.

You can kidnap a villager by using a boat. You can force villagers into a boat by pushing them or driving the boat into the villager. The villager will not escape unless the boat is broken so you can travel great distances this way.

Keep in mind that even though boats work on land, they’re extremely slow and can only go on flat ground so if your base isn’t close by, making a Nether portal might make this quicker. And, if you encounter monsters, they will be much faster than you so be sure to kill them and protect the villager.

Once you’ve done this, you will have to do it all over again, since you need two villagers.

Breeding Villagers In Version 114 And Earlier

  • 1Find a village. Villages generate at random locations in the game world. Villages can be found in the plains, desert, and savannah biomes. The village needs to have at least 2 villagers. Be patient. Villages are not always easy to find. You may have explored for a while before you find one. Use the map you get at the start of the game to keep track of your location.

  • How To Find A Minecraft Village

Villages, just like other Minecraft structures, generate naturally when you create your Minecraft world. Villages can be found in the following biomes:

    • Desert
    • Taiga
    • Snowy Tundra

The style and architecture of each village differs based on its biome. But mostly they consist of a smattering of houses, farms, and one or two larger structures, all connected by lit pathways. Villages are usually inhabited by villagers, cats, and farm animals but occasionally there will also be an Iron Golem protecting a village.

In Survival Mode, there’s no special way to find the nearest Minecraft village: you just have to start exploring any of the above biomes that you come across. Or, if you’d like, you can make things much easier for yourself by using one of the village spawns in our list of the best Minecraft seeds.

    Maximize The Number Of Beds

When expanding your village, you do not have to conform to the default layout of structures. To maximize the size of your buildings, all you need are safe structures with walls, a roof, beds, and a door. You can even build an apartment to accommodate many villagers to make room for breeding!

Remember that zombies spawn at night and can turn your villagers into zombie villagers. Zombies, skeletons, spiders, and creepers will attack your villagers if they are outside. Light up the inside of your houses with torches to prevent mobs from spawning indoors. While villagers can sleep in beds outside, dont expect them to survive the night!

    What Makes A Village

How to Build a SECRET Undetectable VILLAGE BASE in ...

What constitutes a valid village to NPC Villagers and/or Iron golems? Is there a marker in the chunk itself that says “village lives here”? Is there a minimum number of doors? How are the boundaries determined ?

ETA: I’m trying to determine what makes the game register specific buildings as “a village” and not just buildings. I know you can transplant villagers to another village, but can you transplant them to any collection of buildings? Similarly, I understand the villager spawning and iron golem spawning algorithm, this question is just about how the game internally defines a “village”.

    • 1It’s the doors. There are no markers and no boundaries. Villagers do exit the boundaries under certain conditions. BlaXpiritAug 8 ’12 at 16:35

Most of what you’re asking can be found on a couple of articles on the minecraft wiki site, but I’ll summarize the big points:

  • Iron golems spawn when there are at least 16 adult villagers and at least 21 valid doors.

  • Iron golems and villagers both will wander aimlessly if they are not created naturally or are not in a village, respectively.

  • This information is valid as of snapshot 12w21a, version 1.3.1.

EDIT: To answer the more specific questions OP had…

I don’t think anyone really knows, except for the developers, where the hard cutoff for the village is, or if this is one. Apparently at some point, Notch was going to put in some physical boundaries for the villages, but they might not even exist in newer releases.
