I was wondering what could be causing my world to get thunderstorms every day at midday when the sun is the highest in the sky. Its a single player world, and as soon as a storm starts I sleep but then the day resets and once the sun gets to the highest point it begins again.
I have been using fabric/carpet on the latest snapshot and even on going back to purely vanilla it happens. Ive tried recreating my world and it doesnt happen, so I moved my level.dat away, copied my player folder using nbt explorer into the new one and moved it into my world which worked for an in game day, and as soon as I sleep to skip the first night it begins the cycle once more.
Is there anything else that could cause this issue? My level.dat doesnt seem to be causing it and short from turning weather off completely Im lost for ideas.
It is an old world generated originally in 1.0 but Ive looked after it pretty well I think. As far as I know, all of the old files have been removed as the game has grown, Ive optimised the world and deleted the old format files and occasionally trim excess chunks that Ive generated whilst exploring that I dont need taking up disk space.

First, you can place a Lightning Rod on top of any flammable surface and prevent a lightning strike from catching it on fire. For example, if you have made your home out of a volatile resource like wood or wool, this will prevent the passing storms from lighting your house in flames.
