The tough method to identify a Minecraft biome is by guessing using its features. Unless you have played the game long enough, it will be hard for you to identify some of the lesser-known biomes. Even though our guide to Minecraft Biomes can get you pretty close to visual identification, Minecrafts in-game feature saves you from working so hard.
On PC, you can press the F3button to open the debug screen in Minecraft Java Edition. It shows an overlaywith a lot of information about the game and your system. Towards thelower-left section of the content, you will discover the biome information. Minecraft displays it as Biome: Name of your current Biome. Heres what it looks like in-game:
Note: The debug screen is only accessible in Minecraft Java Edition using the F3 shortcut. For all other versions of Minecraft, you will need to rely on this third-party add-on to open the debug screen and view biome information.

Part 1 of the Caves & Cliffs update launched on June 8. While it’s technically the smaller of the two updates, it adds loads of new blocks, animals, plants, and craftable items. But as some of these things are only supposed to spawn in the new biomes, you may be confused about what you can expect to see when you fire up your updated version of Minecraft.
It’s worth noting that some blocks or creatures specifically tied to the upcoming biomes might not spawn naturally quite yet. It does appear that there are other ways to obtain them, however, such as via Creative mode or from a lucky find in a chest or from a Wandering Trader.

What Do Lush Caves Look Like
In the Overworld on the surface, Lush Caves biomes look exactly like Minecraft‘s plains biomes do. The area will be filled with trees, their roots hanging down into the caves below. Inside the caves themselves, moss grows along the ground of these caves, and vines hang from the ceilings. Players can also find lily-pad-like patches of moss growth in the water, clay pools, and large pink sport blossom flowers blooming around the area. There will also be big and small dripleaf plants as well as glow berries that will keep the area lit up. Players can feed bone meal to small dripleaf plants to make them grow into large dripleaf plants if their lush caves are just not quite lush enough.
Where To Find Glow Berries In Minecraft
Glow berries are a new food item in Minecraft, but players may not be entirely certain on how to spot them in a normal Minecraft world.
That’s because there’s a little bit of a catch. Aside from being potential loot found in mineshaft loot chests, glow berries can’t be naturally generated yet in standard worlds in Minecraft 1.17.1.
This is due to them spawning in lush cave biomes, which can only be generated at the moment if Minecraft: Java Edition players create a custom or buffet world, or if Minecraft: Bedrock Edition players toggle on the experimental gameplay setting.
