    Minecraft 1.17 update release date

Update 2.29 has arrived for Minecraft, and heres the full list of changes and fixes added with this patch.

Mojang Studios has now released a new update to all versions of Minecraft today on September 21st, 2021. If you are playing the PS4 version of the game, the patch number is 2.29. Officially though, this update is version number 1.17.30 called Bedrock.

There are a few new features and experimental features that have been included as a part of this update. Not to mention there are lots of stability and bug fixes that have come from this update as well.

Loads of crashes have been prevented along with other technical enhancements. You can read the full patch notes below.

Minecraft Caves & Cliffs New Blocks

Given the nature of the split update, its easier to just list which blocks are coming and where you can find them. The new Minecraft blocks in 1.17 are:

    • Copper ore found underground close to mine shafts
    • Dripstone and Pointed Dripstone blocks found in caves
    • Amethyst geodes found in caves
    • Glow lichen found in caves
    • Powdered snow found on mountain tops
    • Deepslate found close to bedrock in the underground area
    • Moss found in shipwreck chests
    • Glow Berries found in mineshaft chests
    • Azalea use bone meal on moss for a chance to find it
    • Dripleaf plant use bone meal on moss for a chance to find it

Note that you can also find some of these items by trading emeralds with wandering traders. Outside of these new blocks, the new textures for ores will also appear in the Minecraft 1.17 update. They were redesigned due to accessibility issues for colourblind players.

Lets go into a bit more detail about some of these blocks:

    Changes To Minecraft Mob Spawns

In the first Minecraft 1.18 experimental snapshot, theres a natural terrain variation that is separate from how the biomes work. The patch notes state an example of this, suggesting that forests and deserts could form up on a hill without needing a special biome just for that. Mobs that spawn in the dark will now only spawn in complete darkness, so dimly lit areas are safer. However, a subsequent experimental snapshot makes zombies, spiders, and skeletons spawn at light level 11, so multiple torches are needed to ward away those monsters.

Minecraft : What We Expect In Caves & Cliffs Part 2

There’s no date set for Part 2 of the Caves & Cliffs update, though it’s expected to arrive later in 2021. There aren’t many details about the specifics of the update, though we do know that the new biomes will be implemented when it arrives. Here’s what we know so far.

    Biomes:

    • Lush Caves: This biome adds lots of colour to underground areas and are full of green-covered blocks and glow berries. You’ll be able to find the Lush Caves by looking for the Azalea Trees that grow above them in the overworld.
    • Dripstone Cave: The second biome is less colourful than Lush Caves and adds stalagmites and stalactites instead of being completely composed of Minecraft’s usual blocks. Just be careful not to fall into a pit of stalagmites!
    • Deep Dark: This biome isn’t for the faint-hearted. If any lights in the cave start going dim, you might want to make a hasty retreat as that’s a sign that the scary new Warden mob is nearby. Skulk Sensors generate here as well.

    Creatures:

    • Warden: These terrifying new mobs live deep underground and respond to movement and vibrations. You’ll want to avoid them as they deal tons of damage and have a high health pool.

    Blocks:

    • Skulk Block/Sensor: These are found deep underground in the Warden’s terrain. They are set off by sounds and vibrations and will emit a Redstone signal when triggered.

The First 118 Snapshot Has Arrived

Minecraft version 1.18 doesn’t have a final release date yet, but Mojang is letting players take a look at the new world generation in an extremely experimental build. Unlike the usual Minecraft snapshot releases, this experimental snapshot will require you to manually download a game version from Mojang’s site.

“This snapshot is experimental, and everything is subject to change,” Mojang says. “Some features may be significantly changed or even removed if needed to improve performance.”

Despite the experimental nature, this early snapshot will let you create new worlds with Minecraft’s bigger mountains and more impressive caves.

Minecraft is a type of sandbox video game that has been created by Markus “Notch” Persson. The game is developed by Mojang Studios and was officially released in the year 2011. After the release, the game went super hit and sold around 200 million copies across all platforms. The game is also considered to be the best selling game of all time with over 126 million monthly active users currently. In the game, the players are supposed to explore a blocky, procedurally generated 3D world that has an infinite terrain. The player may even come across some new raw materials, craft tools and items, and build structures or earthworks. In the year 2014, Microsoft managed to buy Mojang and Minecraft intellectual property for US$2.5 billion. Minecraft: Story Mode, Minecraft Dungeons, and Minecraft Earth are some of the latest released Minecraft games currently.

Whats New In The Minecraft Caves & Cliffs Update

    • Noise Caves
    • This new type of cave can be generated underground and comes in two varieties Cheese and Spaghetti. Cheese caves have open areas with stone pillars, while Spaghetti caves are long and narrow, as their namesake suggests.
  • Lush Caves
  • Found underneath Azalea trees growing on the surface, Lush Caves are systems filled with vines, flowers and fruit that hangs from the ceiling. Lush Caves are a great spot for finding rare flora and fauna, such as Glow Berries, Dripleaf Plants, Spore Blossoms and more.
    • Dripstone Caves
    • Dripstone Caves feature Stalagmites and Stalactites those sharp, pointy rock formations that hang from the ceilings or rise up from the floor. These can be used to collect water from, or to damage an enemy below by breaking the top.
  • Deep Dark Biome
  • The Deep Dark Biome will be added in as part of the Minecraft 1.17 update and will be where youll find Dripstone Caves, but little else has been shared about these new biomes just yet.
  • Axolotl Mobs
  • Axolotls will be found underwater and in Lush Caves. They can be caught out of water by using your bucket to scoop one up. Once tamed, Axolotls attack enemies, play dead to recover health and can help take down larger enemies if in large groups.
    • Glow Squid Mobs
    • Glow Squids drop glowing ink sacs, which can be used to make glow-in-the-dark text on signs. When the squid is hit, it squirts inks and quickly escapes.
  • Goat Mobs
  • Warden Mobs
  • Crystal & Amethyst Geode Blocks
  • Copper Blocks
  • Candles & Candle Cakes
  • Spyglass
  • New Features And Changes

    • Deaths of named mobs will now be logged.

    Minecraft 117 Beta Release Date

If you own the Bedrock edition of Minecraft, you can now play the beta, although only the first phase of new features are available including goats and the powdery snow. Find out how to play Minecraft Beta snapshots in both Java and Bedrock editions, by following the steps outlined in our guide.

There are important differences between both versions, and it seems that the Java edition is slightly ahead. A recent update is the Caves & Cliffs snapshot 21w14a, that makes important changes to iron, copper, and gold. Now these blocks generate raw minerals when mined, putting it in line with coal and diamonds. If youre a purist and like how the ore blocks look, you can still collect the ore blocks by using the Silk Touch Minecraft enchantments.

Snapshot 21w06a introduced the brand new cave system so you can now explore those cheese and spaghetti caves yourself, and go diving for Minecraft diamond in an aquifer. Previous snapshots added Minecraft copper, bundles, powder snow, lush cave blocks, glow squids, axolotls, and dripstone caves.

And that is everything we know about the upcoming Minecraft Caves & Cliffs update. Some exciting new areas to explore and one terrifying monster to face. Its certainly best to come in prepared, even if Netherite weapons and armour dont do much against wardens.
