How Saturation Works In Minecraft
Alongside hunger is a separate bar known as “saturation”. This bar isn’t visible, and controls the rate at which your hunger bar decreases.
- You gain saturation by eating particular foods that reward you with saturation points.
- Saturation will be drained before your hunger bar stops dropping, and you’ll know that your saturation is empty if your hunger bar begins to shake.
- It’s important to note that your saturation level cannot exceed your current hunger level. So, for example, if your hunger bar is currently at 10, your maximum saturation cannot exceed 10.
- Each food in Minecraft restores a certain number of hunger points, but overeating doesn’t simply apply those excess hunger points into saturation.
- Instead, you need to eat food that restores higher amounts of saturation. We’ll go into that in more detail in our recipes list below.
How Exhaustion Works In Minecraft
Exhaustion is a statistic in Minecraft that measures how much food or saturation you lose when performing a specific action. Many actions in Minecraft grant you exhaustion, from swimming to jumping or contracting food poisoning. It’s a little complex but, basically, you’ll lose a point of hunger or saturation whenever you perform enough actions to reach an exhaustion level of four. When this happens, you’ll lose a point of hunger or a point of saturation, and your exhaustion level will reset.
Here’s a lost of all of the actions in Minecraft that lead to exhaustion and how much exhaustion they cause:
- Breaking Blocks: 0.005 exhaustion per block.
- Jumping: 0.05 exhaustion per jump.
- Swimming: 0.01 exhaustion per metre.
- Attacking: 0.1 exhaustion per attack hit.
- Taking Damage: 0.1 exhaustion per attack received.
- Jumping While Sprinting: 0.2 per jump.
- Food poisoning from raw chicken or rotten flesh: 0.1 per second for 30 seconds.
- Food poisoning from pufferfish: 0.3 per second for 15 seconds.

How To Make Splash Potions
By brewing gunpowder with any potion, you can create a splash potion – one that can be thrown, and spread its effect for a few blocks around where it lands. These can be used to heal friends, quickly give yourself a boost without having to drink the potion, and harm mobs.
From the splash potion of night vision to the splash potion of invisibility, here is a complete list of all splash potions in Minecraft.

Is There A Command That Makes Food Restore Health
I want to create an adventure map, with healing items, but potions aren’t stackable, what isn’t very good. So, is there a command in 1.13/1.14 that makes food heal the player?
I assume you want players to get an effect when eating foods. If you want one kind of food in general to heal, then that’s easy.
First, create a scoreboard that tracks players who eat the kind of food you want to heal :
/scoreboard objectives add heal minecraft.used:minecraft.cookie
Then run these commands in a repeating chain:
This will give players who have used a cookie instant health, and then immediately resets their score so they can do it again.
If you want named foods to give health, you’ll need to add some more commands. Put this in a repeating chain instead:
This tags players who are holding a cookie named “Health Biscuit” with a “heal” tag, then the same thing is done in the first example.
The reason why I put the tag commands below the effect and scoreboard commands is because once you have used the cookie, it would no longer be in your hand, so it would be impossible to tag the player. Putting the tag commands on the bottom will tag the player, then in the next tick, when they have eaten the cookie, will heal the player because he already has that tag.
To change what you want your food to be, just change the objective to minecraft.used:minecraft.foodnamehere.
This is where to change what you want the food’s name to be in the tag command:

Food Should Recover Health Instantly
I don’t mean indirectly, like saturation/full hunger meter slowly restoring your health bar. I mean eating food should restore health instantly, like in the alpha days.
This would make balancing saturation and food points a lot easier to balance, as they don’t have to be so heavily tied to restoring health. You could make it so steak gives you lots of saturation and food points, but only half a heart of health, whereas an apple gives two hearts of health. It would be a simple yet effective way to re-balance all the food items.

How To Heal In Stranded Deep
You must know how to heal in Stranded Deep in order to regain your characters health.
When wanting to know how to heal and regain health in Stranded Deep, you must first know about the icons on your survival watch.
The heart stands for health, the ham stands for hunger, and the drop of water represents how thirsty you are.

You will also find status effects on your watch if you have anything that will help kill you such as sunstroke, poison, and bleeding.
In order to heal and regain health in Stranded Deep, you need to drink plenty of clean water and you also need to eat correct food.
Provided your hunger and thirst meters are quite high as opposed to low, your health will gradually heal.
The boost in health is much slower than the immediate boost from potions in other games, so expect it to happen gradually rather than instantly.

As for negative status effects like bleeding and suffering from poison, stuffing your face with food and clean water will not help as you will instead need bandages and antidotes.
Can I Make Players Have Constantly Full Health
In a map I’m building, I want players to always have full health, no matter what damages them, as long as it doesn’t kill them. That is, when they get 19.5 hearts worth of damage, their health will instantly refill, but when they get 20 hearts damage at once, they die. I already tried doing
This only regenerates the health fast, not instantly. How can I do this?
Never thought it could be so easy, just do this:
This will give you instant health regeneration for 100000 seconds – it will give you instant health as a potion effect until you drink milk or die. You heal instantly, without even seeing the health go down. A clock can be used to re-apply the effect.
- I believe you need to have this on a redstone clock Sep 12 ’16 at 2:59
- Wouldn’t a clock be useful to apply the effects?Sep 12 ’16 at 7:21
- 1@dly Yes, but it would have to be a clock that can be turned off mosrt probably. user143228Sep 12 ’16 at 8:07
- “for unlimited time” – This statement is incorrect. Potion effects cannot last forever without a clock. The display in the inventory shows **:** when the duration in ticks is greater than 32,767. It simply means it’s too large to convert for display and does not mean it lasts forever. The effect will dissipate after the specified 100,000 seconds if not re-applied sooner.Sep 12 ’16 at 9:19
- 2You can go up to 1 million ticks with that I believe . The display goes as far as Short numbers go . Can we say infinite, if the effect lasts for 3 years ?

Quote from Kitteh6660Then I realized that there are More Health Enhanced but it’s changed to Forge-only mod and I rely on ModLoader.I only have to add few lines in EntityPlayer.java and ta-da! My max health increase when I gain levels. However, I had been trying to get the HUD to show extra health. I will eventually figure out how to make HUD show 11th to 20th heart. I want to try to move the armor bar when 11th heart appears. In my opinion, 20 hearts aren’t overpowered to me.

How To Make All Primary Potion Recipes
There are five types of primary potions: the Awkward Potion, the Mundane Potion, the extended Mundane Potion, the Thick Potion, and the Potion of Weakness. Only the Potion of weakness has an actual effect this far into the brewing. An Awkward potion is brewed by mixing water bottles with a Nether wart. The Awkward potion is the one thats absolutely neccesary to all positive secondary potions and only one negative.
Mundane potions are used to brew Potions of weakness and are brewed using water bottles and any of the following items: Glistering Melon, Spider eyes, Magma cream, Sugar, Blaze Powder, Ghast Tears, or Redstone Dust.
Thick Potions are brewed using a water bottle and glowstone dust.

Gain Health By Eating
Most foods in Dont Starve will provide health, usually in smaller numbers between 1 and 5. However, cooking up meals in a Crock pot rapidly increases the amount of health given. For example, Fish Sticks which require half of a fish and one twig will restore 40 Health when its eaten.
Pierogi can be cooked in Dont Starve using 1 piece of meat, 1 egg and 1 vegetable and will also restore 40 Health making it an easy to cook food item. If you have any Dragonfruit, you can also throw this in a crock pot to create Dragon Pie which will grant 40 HP each.
If you have a drying rack built in your base in Dont Starve, you can hang your raw meat on it. Doing this, you will receive Jerky which can restore 20 Health points. You should always try to dry your raw meat out into Jerky when possible.
Eating Honey will heal you for 3 health points, and its really easy to obtain if you have a Bee box farm. However, if you have Papyrus you can use Honey to create Honey Poultice which will heal you for 30 Health points instead. Well talk more about it below.
