Hello all! I really enjoy keeping pet fish in my minecraft survival world, however recently I have noticed some go missing. More specifically, I have had a few pufferfish on my current survival realm in a pond and they have all went missing within a couple days. I believe I saw one of them die from suffocating, but I’m not totally sure how they keep dying. Any tips on how to keep them alive and why they are dying? Thanks!
P.S. I know that nobody on my realm has been killing them, and there is no way for mobs or anything that might kill them to get near my pond.
EDIT: Yes all of these fish have been from buckets or named

IntroductionLet me start off by saying why this idea is different from previously proposed fish ideas. Most mock-ups, concept art, and even fish from mods, portray the fish as a basic, cubic, Minecraft model with an unnecessary amount of detail. These fish almost always end up looking nothing like the fish we all know and love. Here are some examples found on the inter-webs.
Now I mean no dis-respect to the creators of these models and images, they did a great job portraying a fish in the traditional Minecraft-mob format, but I personally find it a bit…unnecessary. We already have this great sprite that we are all used to. Why change it? In my opinion the blocky model feels too clumsy and overall messy for a fish. So I suggest, we use the sprite as the actual model. It would appear as it does when the play throws it on the ground, just at a slightly different angle, more like this image.
