Use Fill Command In Minecraft To Make Structures Today

How to place a block in minecraft pc

Whether you want to surround your village with blocks or create empty spaces, the fill command in Minecraft is there to help. It can be a bit overwhelming to begin using the fill command in Minecraft. But with practice and experimentation, you will be natural at it in no time. You can also bookmark this tutorial and revisit it whenever you have a doubt. However, if you are done building cubic structures, create spheres in Minecraft. Yes, it sounds counter-intuitive but is possible even in survival. You have to install Forge in Minecraft to run some of the best mods to make your building process simpler. As for the ideas, our collection of the best Minecraft maps should give you some much-needed inspiration. With that said, the fill command in Minecraft has a diversity of uses, and we are just scratching the surface of its creativity. But what are you planning to do with it? Tell us in the comments!

Why Use The Fill Command

There are simply some projects that are too much for a single person to handle. Replacing or terraforming an enormous mountain would require a lot of time and resources.

Not to mention, if you wish to set up a Realm or Server for your friends or the public you would need to do a lot of work.

The fill command can be used to replace any kind of block with any kind of other block. A mountain can be flattened by having all of its blocks replaced by Air.

A Sea biome can be drained instead of having to manually remove Water from the area. You can even use it as a base for a build!

The fill command can be easily utilized and can save any player a lot of time and patience.

We spoke about setting up a PVP free server before, and when it comes to setting up a place for a community, many people like to have things organized. A proper spawn area, a place for minigames.

Some Servers even build whole cities and towns. Most would prefer to have a nice flat or unified area to build on, which is when the fill command becomes so useful.

Is There A Way To Place Blocks In Mid

I see people placing blocks in mid air in building videos but I cant figure out how to do it? It there a way to place blocks without a backing block?

I think that in the time-lapse video you showed, he build up to where he wanted to place the block, but it was cut out of the time-lapse because it only takes a photo say every, 3 seconds. He probably just built and destroyed his support blocks quickly and it was not captured in the video.

How To Replace Blocks In Minecraft

Have you ever stumbled upon a mountain made of Gravel, or the perfect flat area made just of Stone?

Or perhaps a body of Water is right in the middle of the area you wish to build in. So instead of getting right down to building you are forced to terraform the area first, and sometimes this takes hours.

Not to mention certain blocks make it much harder to terraform than others, like Sand and Gravel which are affected by gravity.

For this the Fill command allows you to replace blocks in Minecraft without having to really move a single muscle. Its the perfect solution to what would otherwise be grueling hard work.

Your Main Hand is the one contolled by the Left Mouse Button – this will usually be your right hand, but if you prefer to be left-handed you can change this in the Options screen. You can place an item in your Main Hand using keys 19 to select it from the toolbar.

Your Off Hand is your other hand. You can put an item in your Off Hand using the Shield Slot in the Inventory screen, or you can press F to swap items between your main hand.

    TIPS:

    • Open the inventory if you want to click outside the Minecraft window without pausing the game.
    • It’s a good idea to change the “Drop” button to something further away from the movement keys: it reduces the risk of accidentally throwing your stuff into lava.

How To Set Up A Command Block

Once your Command Block is placed, theres a couple settings youll see when you interact with it.

Choosing between Impulse, Current or Repeat, and Chain will decide when your Command Block activates.

Impulse will make the command run once and stop.

Current or Repeat will make the command repeat consistently while powered.

Chain will make it so the block will only run after the connecting Command Block runs, allowing players to set up more complex systems.

A Command Block set at Unconditional will run no matter if the previous Command Block ran successfully. Conditional makes it so itll only run if the previous Command Block ran.

You can also set your Command Block up to be powered by Redstone. Selecting Needs Redstone will make it only activate if the block has Redstone. Selecting Always Active makes the command run regardless.

Whatever command you want set up goes into the Command Input section. You can use it to kill enemies if you dont like a particular one or other things. Minecraft commands can be a little complicated at times, especially when using it in Command Blocks, but you can check out a list of commonly used commands here so you dont have to do the heavy lifting yourself.
