  • How To Find A Stronghold In Minecraft

To find a stronghold, you will need an eye of ender. This is an object creating by combining ender pearls and blaze powder.

Ender pearls are dropped by endermen. You can find endermen in the following locations.

    • Overworld at night
    • Nether Wastes biome
    • Soul Sand Valley biome

Additionally, expert-level cleric villagers will have a chance to sell an ender pearl for five emeralds. Each eye of ender will only need one pearl but you will need quite a few of these eyes.

Blaze powder is a little more difficult to find. This material is crafted from blaze rods, which only drop from blazes. This mob spawns naturally and from spawners within nether fortresses.

You will probably encounter a few blazes pretty quickly, but they can annoying to fight because they fly and shoot fireballs. Make sure that you have enough fire protection when fighting a blaze. Try to fight them above a platform as well, so the blaze rods don’t fall into the lava.

Once you have the eyes of ender, throw one into the sky. The eye will float towards the location of the nearest stronghold. Catch the eye when it drops and head in that direction. Periodically throw an eye to make sure that you are on the right track.

An eye of ender has a chance to break when thrown, so be sure to bring extras.

    Are Minecraft Axolotls Hostile

Axolotls are a passive mob at least when it comes to the player.

They are, however, hostile to all other aquatic mobs, with the sole exceptions being dolphins and turtles.

If you’re a flint-hearted monster and deal damage to your axolotl, it has a high chance of playing dead rather than actually dying. The same applies if it takes damage from other mobs .

While shamming it will slowly recover its lost health over time, and can’t be attacked by other mobs until it returns to normal activity. In other words, these cute amphibians are thankfully, surprisingly hardy creatures.

Can You Tame Axolotls In Minecraft

Technically speaking, you can’t tame Minecraft’s axolotls. Disappointing, we know.

You can, however, get them to follow you by holding a Bucket of Tropical Fish in your hand as you approach them. This allows you to corral them to an extent, giving you some freedom to lead them to a location of your choosing.

You can also attach axolotls to leads, or pick them up in a Bucket of Water if you want to transport them further. An axolotl that has been picked up will never despawn, so you can effectively get yourself a pet one using this method.

Being able to herd axolotls is also highly useful for breeding them.

    • Full Diamond or Netherite Armor
    • Pickaxe
    • Food
    • A Bed
    • Water Bucket
    • Stack of Blocks

Armor, tools, and food are a necessity to every exploration. Consider enchanting all of your armor and tools as well. A bed will come in handy to set up a spawn point, especially if you plan to go to fight the ender dragon. If you die at any point, you will respawn at the bed. Try placing the bed above ground, in the area around the stronghold. You can even build a little shack to store some materials.

As for a water bucket and stack of blocks, these will help you fully explore the area. Blocks will help you cross any area, or block off a room that is full of mobs.

Recommendations For Mitigating The Log4j Vulnerability

Organizations affected by the Log4Shell flaw are urged to upgrade Log4j to version 2.16.0, released by Apache on December 13. Initially, the company deployed version 2.15.0 to mitigate the bug, but that version was itself flawed in that it could let someone execute a denial of service attack. Anyone still using Java 7 should upgrade to the Log4j 2.12.2 release, according to Apache.

Despite previous advice, just updating Java is not enough to combat the bug, Piazza said.

“For organizations that still need to mitigate the vulnerability, they must update the log4j package itself and should not just update Java,” Piazza said. “This was an early misconception, that updating Java could reduce the severity of the vulnerability, which is simply not true. It’s also a good idea to consult with software vendors to see if they use log4j in any way, and if so if they’ve already provided patches for their products.”

Third parties also have been quick to launch their own patches and tools to combat the vulnerability. Cisco, Oracle and VMware have rolled out patches and fixes. Open source security provider WhiteSource released a free developer tool called WhiteSource Log4j Detect that organizations can run to detect and resolve Log4j vulnerabilities.

As hackers continue to look for vulnerable systems, however, organizations need to act fast to protect themselves from this flaw being used against them.
