What Does The Caves And Cliffs Update Add To Minecraft
Minecraft version 1.17 will add new mobs and blocks to the game, and it will overhaul Minecrafts cave generation system to create larger and more diverse underground areas. The in-game height limit will be expanded by 64 blocks upwards and downwards, so caves will run deeper than ever before.
Currently, Minecraft caves are simple and typically feature nothing more than small caverns or narrow passageways. With version 1.17, several new cave types will be added to the game to make underground exploration much more engaging and rewarding. Large aquifers, gigantic caverns with stalagmites, and long winding spaghetti caves are just a few new additions to Minecrafts cave generation formula.
Mining will also become a bit more complex with the Caves and Cliffs update. Minecraft 1.17 increases the depth and height for every world, so there is much more to explore underground. To compensate for the increased depth, certain ores will be more common at certain depth levels to allow for more strategic mining. You may be able to find iron more commonly close to the surface, while gold is plentiful near the diamond layers deep underground.
Most ores have also been retextured for accessibility reasons, so your favorite Minecraft metals will look a bit different when you find them in the Caves and Cliffs update. New ores like copper and amethyst can also be found in the new caves, so even the most experienced Minecraft players have a lot to look forward to.

Minecraft 1165 Release Candidate 1 Is Out Another Caves And Cliffs Snapshot Hits Next Week
Minecraft is about to get a teeny, tiny new update with 1.16.5, which just got a release candidate for final testing before release. The update only includes a few tech fixes to address server crashes, but Mojang has confirmed something much more exciting here: the next Caves and Cliffs snapshot is due to launch next week.
Minecraft 1.16.5 Release Candidate 1 is now available for testing, and if no notable issues are discovered, it will go live on Friday, January 15. There are two bug fixes in this update, both of which address server crash issues, but the devs are keeping the details quiet for security reasons.
We hope to release another Caves and Cliffs snapshot next week, the devs add on Reddit. Each new snapshot introduces one or more new features thatll be included in the final update the most recent, for example, introduced the Minecraft axolotl.
The proper Minecraft 1.17 release date is currently slated for some point in summer 2021 across both Bedrock and Java Editions.

and yes this is a port of the java mod, the actual software itself is very different and is not a copy or substantial portion of the software. Minecraft Java Edition/bedrock Edition: 1162 Is Out Now
Several months ago, one of the biggest updates in Minecrafts history was released and it reignited many players love for the nether. However, with game development, some features dont make it into the final version while others get pushed back a version or two. Within 1.16.2, we encounter the Piglin Brute. This fierce creature takes no pity to anyone whether theyre wearing gold or not. If you see one, you better start running. They are armed and will hunt you down. They do a significant amount of damage compared to their weaker variant of piglins.
Below you will see the changelog for Java and Bedrock. They both have new features but different bug fixes.
Piglin Brute
- Piglin Brutes are stronger versions of Piglins that live in bastion remnants and protect the treasures there
- Unlike their cowardly and greedy counterparts, the Piglin Brutes cannot be distracted by gold and arent afraid of anything
- Piglin Brutes attack players on sight, no matter how the player is dressed
- Piglin Brutes wield axes and dont need any armor because theyre just that tough!

Bedrock Edition Rolling Out
While Java Edition players are diving into the new content, those on console and Windows 10 are still waiting. The update is being rolled out though.
Mojang is rolling some parity updates and other bug fixes into the Bedrock Edition update, which may explain the wait. It also has to go through several different stores and systems before it arrives with players.
It could depend on your system and location as to when the rollout reaches you. Stay strong and get ready to go adventuring!
What Can You Expect From The Minecraft Nether Update
The update will feature several new areas to the Nether, including the spooky Soulsand Valley region, Warped Forests which features a host of spores and fungi, and Crimson Forests, which are covered in Crimson Spores and Weeping Vines.
Look out also for new enemies, which will include gold-loving Piglins, and the floppy-eared Hoglins, both of which are set to feature in the Nether.
However the most exciting addition would appear to be a new type of ore called Netherite, which is worth getting your hands on even though its hard to find.
It will give extra power to any weapons covered in it, while Netherite armour provides better knock-back resistance and is more hard-wearing plus it cant be destroyed by lava.
Netherite can only be found by mining Ancient Debris in the lower depths of the Nether which can then be refined into Netherite Scrap in a furnace.
You can then combine four scraps with four Gold Ingots which will make one Netherite Ingot.
This particular part of the update is only currently available on the Java versions of the game, and theres no confirmation yet of when it will appear on other versions plus of course its only in snapshot form.
