Minecraft Modern House Ideas

Minecraft | How to Build a Simple Survival House | Starter House

‘s builds are back with their take on a modern Minecraft house. Clean lines and minimalist designs transfer really well into Minecraft’s blocky world and this modern build definitely fits the bill.;

Rizzial has a bunch of slick house ideas on their Minecraft channel but this modern house build stuck out because it’s slightly bigger with three whole floors. I love how angular this build is and the brick, wood, and white blocks balance each other out perfectly.

Modern Minecraft houses are plush enough, but what about a modern Minecraft house on water? Knight‘s modern house has been built to make it look like it’s floating effortlessly on water. It’s a build that definitely benefits from some of the best Minecraft shaders, but it’s stunning nonetheless.;

Modern Minecraft Villa On The Lake

I just LOVE this modern Minecraft build! And the best part? This build has a tutorial video to help you build a similar house all by yourself.

Everything about this build is stunning: the huge glass windows and natural lighting, the choice of decorations and furnishings, and last but not least the waterfront lake.

Building: Find Or Build A Home

In the early game, you have one of two options when it comes to shelter. You can either build a makeshift home from the ground up out of wood or dirt and use that while you make your forever home, or you can find a naturally occurring cave or hole in the land. You can then turn this into a temporary home by simply adding a few walls to seal it away from the dangers that may be lurking in the dark.

Either way, you should always be looking towards making a more structured and custom home tailored to your needs as a player.

Simple Oak Survival House

First ever big build in survival : Minecraft

This particular style of a survival home is perfect for Minecraft players who dont want to spend too much time looking for different kinds of wood or materials to use for building. The house is entirely made of oak logs, planks, and fences, and since oak is one of the easiest trees to find, this survival home will be up in no time.

The house itself has multiple levels, few of which have been dedicated entirely to farming, making it pretty self-sufficient in terms of food. The creator, JUNS MAB, has also included all that a Minecraft player would need to survive.

How To Build A Survival Base In Minecraft

The decade-old Minecraft is basically a sandbox video game created by Mojang Studios. Markus Notch Persson created this game in Java programming language and launched as a public alpha in the year 2009. The official release of this game took place in November 2011, and from here, Jens Bergenten took over the charge of development.

Ever since that, Minecraft has been ported to different platforms. It is all one of the best-selling video games out there, with over 200 million sold copies across a wide range of platforms. And as of 2020, the video game has over 126 million active users on a monthly basis.;

  • Best Minecraft House To Build

    Minecraft is all about exploring, mining, crafting, and building. The game allows you to build almost anything in your own unique world, from a small house to a big mansion, and from a skyscraper to anything you can imagine! In the Creative mode, the sky is the limit, and nothing can hamper your building workflow.

    Minecraft allows you a degree of freedom that is not possible in any other game. So, it is not so shocking to see countless videos and images of massive, creative structures built in the Minecraft world. When it comes to Survival mode, you will need to build a secure base for your shelter, which could be a modern house or ancient-style hut.

    Countless construction block types are available for building structures in Minecraft. Every building material comes with its advantages and disadvantages. You must carefully choose a building material to use in Survival mode when you build a house. In creative mode, however, there is no shortage of assets, there are no mob attacks, and you can build any masterpiece that you would like to show off on the Internet.

    Uses Materials That Are Resistant

    Wood is a great material to build your Minecraft home base, but do not keep it as the primary material. There are a lot of natural dangers out there that can destroy all your efforts. While not aesthetically pleasing, cobblestone is a great choice for strong base material.;

    In the case of lighting, it will protect your home from catching fire. Moreover, creepers will also have a hard time blowing up your home. You can even double the way in order to boost the protection level.;

    • Use a Lot of Torches;

    A couple of lights here and there may seem enough for you, but what happens when you encounter a Skeleton in one of the corners? Your entire house will be taken over, and nobody wants that.;

    These monsters can spawn around seven blocks away from one torch. Therefore, in order to keep such baddies out of the way, you need to place torches within approximately seven to fourteen blocks in every direction of the base.;

    • Steer Clear From Zombies;

    When playing in Hard Difficulty or Hardcore mode, you will see Zombies ten to bust down the door unexpectedly. There are a couple of things that you can do in order to protect yourself from Zombies ;

    • Use expandable piston as your doorway
    • Put a wooden door in sideways
    • Set up a patio and put a fence gate to close it
    • Build an iron door and place button on both the sides;

    Zombies are only able to break down wooden doors, so iron gates will be a great idea.;

    Minecraft Nether Hub Build

    Minecraft: How To Build A Survival Starter House Tutorial (#4)

    A good Nether Hub is a thing of beauty, combining the grand with the practical in a way that few other builds on this list can manage. Travelling by Nether is the fastest way to travel long distances in Minecraft, but it’s also a very dangerous place, as you’ll know if you ever tried to obtain ingredients for making Minecraft potions. A Nether Hub should make you feel safe to travel for long periods in the Nether, but there’s also no reason for it not to look fantastic, like the above hub designed by YouTuber “Kemit”.

    Survival: Keep Your Hunger Bar Full

    An element of Minecraft that newcomers might find frustrating is the hunger bar in the game. When it is full it allows you to start healing back to full health, but if it is anything less than the healing threshold you’ll stay at whatever damaged amount of health an enemy or mistake left you at.

    Growing wheat on a man-made wheat farm and making bread, or catching and cooking fish will be the best way early on to satiate that hunger bar and make sure that you’re always at full health.

    Small & Compact Modern Minecraft House

    Tiny and compact homes are becoming increasingly popular, even in real-life. Despite the small size of this house, it is possible to make it practical for your needs too. A tiny house is usually best for just an outpost place to sleep and grab some supplies like food.

    Another cool idea is to make a tiny house like this on the ground, and then have a massive underground base beneath it. People will come inside expecting a tiny house, and be pleasantly surprised when they find a massive underground base under it!

    Landing And Takeoff Platforms

    If playing with flying enabled you can create platforms at the same height on multiple buildings for easy flight between the upper levels of different locations. This works great in tree-forts, cities, and anywhere that multiple balconies are otherwise unconnected. Since 1.11.2, firework rockets have allowed the player to have a propelled flight with elytra, so these platforms should have water to slow the impact due to how fast players can fly, if these are meant for elytra.

    Add Underground Floors To Your Shelter

    Ultimate Minecraft Survival Base With Everything You Need ...

    Using this gives you a chance to find resources, and in the case of invasion by mobs, it will always provide a safer spot. Underground floors are also useful for making mob grinders or animal farms. If you’re really good, add a whole back up shelter under ground. If you like to be safe, add multiple bunkers, but hide a super safe and secret bunker. You could also make a part of the floor out of glass in the same spot on each floor, so you can see all the way down, and it looks nice if you do it right.

    Minecraft Base Build Preparations

    As you can see this is a pretty big build project, we are going to need a lot of materials. Fortunately, the guys that made this video have included a required items list:

    In addition to the video tutorial, you can also grab the template that can be downloaded as an MC world directly from the original Minecraft survival base tutorial.

    Most importantly, you will need a positive attitude before we start this monstrous base. Upon first inspection, the template can look daunting. There is colored wool everywhere, but furthermore, it is only constructed from a single corner repeated four times which is very simple. As such you are really only learning to build a quarter of this base, rather than the whole thing.

    Zero Loss Sugarcane Farm

    When it comes to other valuable crops, sugar cane is a must-have. Since paper is used in so many ways to make maps, enchanted books and eventually book shelves for an enchantment setup, sugar cane is insanely valuable and useful early on in the game.

    With observer blocks, it’s now possible to make a pretty simple sugar cane farm. Every time the crop grows past a certain point, pistons will cut the crop, and a stream of water or a mine cart underneath will transport it to a hopper and eventually to a chest. There’s a few different designs, but Vidargavia’s one works wonders.

    Minecraft Mountain Base Build

    If you’re looking for a new thing to build in Minecraft, why not create a new base somewhere? An outpost from which you can explore new lands. And what better place to make one than to embed it into the side of a mountain, so you can see and scout for miles around? There are all sorts of wonderful ways that you can build into the side of a mountain or cliff. The above build is but one of the ideas showcased in this video by YouTuber “Tentango”.

    A Bona Fide Minecraft Castle

    Minecraft: How To Build A Survival Starter House Tutorial (#7)

    If you have ever put together a massive house made from wood and stone, chances are you have imagined what it would be like to live inside a bona fide Minecraft castle.

    Dream no longer! Why not build your very own intricate Minecraft castle? With a throne room, chest rooms, armoury, and dungeons, this will be the perfect addition to any rustic Minecraft world in the later stages of the game.

    Over a couple of instalments, BlueNerd Minecraft has a comprehensive tutorial explaining every step of the Castle construction process.

    To kick off the list is Zaypixel‘s Autumn cabin, a home complete with a thatched roof, cushy fireplace, and plenty of pumpkins. This cabin is on the snug side and I love the brick accents throughout the exterior of the cabin. Zaypixel’s tutorial is super easy to follow and together with its soft piano score makes for a relaxing watch even if you’re not planning on building.

    Looking for a wooden house that’s a little more impressive? Check out ‘s huge, wooden house which can be built in either survival or creative mode. This home is multilayered and a great base for spotting from afar.;

    Minecraft Nature Reserve Build

    Parks and nature reserves are some of my very favourite places to go in the real world, and both places make for great building projects in Minecraft. If you’re tiring of big blocky creations and you’re looking for a more landscape-oriented build, then a nature reserve is a chance to create a truly beautiful area of land, and then fill it with foxes, horses, and all other animals you’d like. Take a look at this video by YouTuber “Keralis” for inspiration.

    It’s The Early Game Relax

    The most important thing above all else is to remember that you are in the early game. There will be plenty of mistakes that happen, and early on the big thing to focus on is learning.

    Educate yourself on how the world of Minecraft works, the logic to crafting, how to build certain structures, and knowing the best way to navigate survival. Death is a bummer, but at the early stages it can be extremely beneficial and a key learning moment.

    Make Another Base In A New Location

    Minecraft: How to Build a Large Spruce Mansion

    Having more than one base helps if you need to travel farther to get resources. A base next to your spawn point is helpful if you built your main base far away and you died at night. A base in a desert can provide sand, and a base in a tundra can provide snow. A base hovering in the sky can provide entertainment, especially if mobs spawn on the edge of it. A great idea is to connect them with nether portals that have a secure hallway in the nether.

    Add A Fountain To Your Town

    It’s hard to come by things that don’t make sense in Minecraft. This water fountain design makes a whole lot of it. Originally designed by YouTube user Minecraft Sekai, and showcased in this video, this beautiful water fountain fits perfectly within most settlement-oriented builds, especially large scale towns.

    Since build projects of this stance can prove exhaustingly long, building something completely out of stone and water is a nice change of pace from having to gather many different types of resources.

    Building: Build A Mineshaft

    Building a mineshaft is critical to the acquisition of iron ore, diamonds, redstone, and much more. Sure you can just dig down and randomly try and find resources, but a well-crafted mineshaft can make things easier on you, especially as you dig more.

    Not only can you keep track of the areas in which you’ve depleted pockets of resources, but with the use of well-placed torches, it can be a safe environment in which to explore and discover new parts of Minecraft you previously didn’t know or understand fully.

    Asian Pagoda Minecraft House

    An Asian themed Minecraft home can be challenging to build because of the angles and curves involved. You might find it helpful to install an Asian decorations mod to help you build with this style.

    While this pagoda has many floors, you can also start with an easier one that is just a couple stories tall. Also consider adding a bit more color variety into the building, like shades of red or yellow, to make the building stand out a bit more.

    If you search pagoda on google images, you will find tons of examples which you can use as a reference when building your pagoda styled house.

    Iron Tools Armour And Weapons

    Minecraft: How To Build a Survival Farm House

    Iron is a somewhat common material that is extremely durable. You can make armor, weapons, and tools from it that will last a while. Yes, this is technically more than one thing- but the point stands: iron is invaluable. You can find it by digging down deep enough. The material is especially abundant in mine shafts and around ravines.

    Ironarmour should be made as soon as possible. Its armor rating is good enough to get you far in the game it can even stand up to enemies in the Nether. Iron armor will last until youre able to get diamond armor, which is the top tier armor that you can get. Its a good idea to build a weapon as well. An iron sword is an excellent choice, as is a shield.
