Once You Get To Layer 15 Keep Digging
You’re getting awfully close to diamond territory at layer 15, but go ahead and keep digging. Layer 12 is when diamonds, indicated by blue flecks, start to make more appearances. And there’s less lava on layers 11 and 12 than others, so that’s probably your best bet for a large mining operation.
Remember that diamonds are rare, even in low layers. It might take a long time for you to find any. And of course, there’s always a chance that you won’t find any at all before you need to head back home.
But once you find diamond ore, mine it with the iron pickaxe and collect your prize. Most diamond comes in a “vein,” meaning that there will be multiple diamond ore blocks connected to one another. Mine all the diamonds you can see, and then move on.

What’s In A Lush Cave
Lush Caves won’t just be a fun little biome to discover, there are plenty of new things to be found there too.
Glow Berries will give off light, helping keep mobs from spawning and adding a sense of untouched wild to the area. Spore Blossoms grow from the ceiling and give off little particles, giving the same effect seen in the Nether for ambiance.

Harvest Crops When They’re Full
Harvesting your crops prematurely results in killing the plant and getting back the seeds; if you harvest wheat before its time, you will get back wheat seeds and have to plant it all over again. Fully grown crops are at their tallest and are sometimes more yellow than green. When pumpkins and melons are fully grown, the crop grows onto the dirt block next to the plant.
When you harvest a fully grown crop, you receive the end product along with new seeds to plant in its place. In later Minecraft versions, you can right-click on most crops to harvest them without ripping out the seeds!

Where To Find Diamonds In Minecraft
Diamonds can randomly be found in loot chests throughout the world. But if you’re looking for a more reliable way of getting diamonds particularly if you want them in any quantity you want to look for diamond ore.
Diamond ore blocks are light grey with aquamarine flecks. They can spawn anywhere between Levels 1-15 of the Overworld. However, they are most commonly found between Levels 5-12. In practical terms, this means you’re going to have to dig down in order to find a proper seam of diamonds.
Diamonds in 1.17
Minecraft Java Edition 1.17 makes changes to the world generation, allowing you to dig below Y-Level 0 and into negative level numbers. This affects the spawn of various ores, including diamonds.
In this version, diamonds spawn between levels 14 and -63, with the heaviest concentration of diamonds spawning at levels -63 to -53.
How to tell which level you’re on
If you’re playing the Java Edition, you can press F3 to see the debug screen, which includes details of which level you’re currently standing on.
If you’re playing the Bedrock Edition, you can set Show Coordinates in your game settings. Your current level will be included in the on-screen information.
What Do Lush Caves Look Like

Creating And Maintaining Farmland Blocks
Unless you are growing saplings, sugarcane, or mushrooms, just planting seeds on a dirt block is not going to work! Tilling a dirt or grass block with a hoe creates a farmland block. Farmland blocks are tilled dirt that all crops can grow on. However, grass cannot spread onto farmland once it has been tilled.
Farmland needs to be constantly hydrated by a block of water to remain in this form; dehydrated farmland will turn back into dirt, uprooting any seeds that were currently growing. Jumping on farmland will also trample crops, ejecting the seeds from the ground.
Farmland blocks are darker and appear shorter than than dirt blocks.
Minecraft 118: What We Expect In Caves & Cliffs Part 2
There’s no date set for Part 2 of the Caves & Cliffs update, though it’s expected to arrive later in 2021. There aren’t many details about the specifics of the update, though we do know that the new biomes will be implemented when it arrives. Here’s what we know so far.
Biomes:;
- Lush Caves: This biome adds lots of colour to underground areas and are full of green-covered blocks and glow berries. You’ll be able to find the Lush Caves by looking for the Azalea Trees that grow above them in the overworld.;
- Dripstone Cave: The second biome is less colourful than Lush Caves and adds stalagmites and stalactites instead of being completely composed of Minecraft’s usual blocks. Just be careful not to fall into a pit of stalagmites!
- Deep Dark: This biome isn’t for the faint-hearted. If any lights in the cave start going dim, you might want to make a hasty retreat as that’s a sign that the scary new Warden mob is nearby. Skulk Sensors generate here as well.
Creatures:;
- Warden: These terrifying new mobs live deep underground and respond to movement and vibrations. You’ll want to avoid them as they deal tons of damage and have a high health pool.;
Blocks:;
- Skulk Block/Sensor: These are found deep underground in the Warden’s terrain. They are set off by sounds and vibrations and will emit a Redstone signal when triggered.

Build A Room Underground For Your Farm
It doesn’t matter where you build your underground farm, as long as it is underground! Think about how big you want your farm to be, and what crops you want to grow. If you want to grow multiple crops, you can combine your farms in one room, or separate them according to type. In my underground farm, I have separate rooms for my wheat farm and my pumpkin and melon farm. Make sure you have room for a redstone lamp setup if you plan on building one!

Place Dirt Within Four Blocks Of Water
Once you’ve built your underground room and set up a light source, make sure that your dirt blocks are always within four blocks of a water block. To properly maximize the output of your farm, place one water block in the middle of a 9×9 patch of dirt blocks. This one block hydrates the farmland surrounding it and allows you to grow more crops in a smaller space. You can place as many 9×9 squares on your farm as you wish.
This method is great for growing wheat, carrots, beets, and potatoes; however, melons and pumpkins require an extra dirt block to grow on and may need a more creative layout. You dont need to design your underground farm this way, but it is a simple and efficient setup.
