The stone layer usually appears within 5 blocks under dirt and grass, or within 8 blocks under sand and sandstone. Remember to never mine out the block you are standing on, unless you know that what’s below that block isn’t a long fall, lava, or other dangers! Another warning here: Unlike most blocks, sand and gravel can fall, and if they fall on you they can suffocate you. If that happens, don’t panic, just dig yourself out as quickly as you can.

Minecraft features a day and night cycle, which means that after 10 minutes, the sun will set, making way for night-time. You dont want to be out at night: Thats when all the hostiles come out to feed.
For your first night, find a hill and dig a shallow hole into the side of it by punching the dirt . A basic one-time safe house needs to be no bigger than two blocks tall, one block wide, and two blocks deep.
Slide yourself inside and barricade the bottom of the entrance using a dirt or sand block, leaving only a single block free for you to see out of that no angry mob can enter.

There are certain keys that you need to know so that you have the best chance of surviving possible. First things first let’s go over how movement works. In this game you have the ability to move in any direction as well as to jump. In order to move forward you simply press W, to strafe left press A, to strafe right press D, and to backup press S.
